T.Odin sucks, along with Omega, they are the biggest waste of in game currency because even when maxed out their attack speeds are terrible and without Armor Perice and uncapped damage there is no reason not to use V.Lightning over them. Also V.Lightning is by far the evilest COM because she can Smite/Scrooge Loop with Noel’s/Sarah’s Full ATB skill which can fuck up even lv.99 Valfodr which mind you he give no fucks if hes staggered.
Cisco your list looks legit, however I used bunkerbeast for his raw HP stat for a large portion of the game before i went on to use Goblin.
Also I too rock that AC Costume with Noel.
I’m kinda dumbfounded on how Sazh is a brokemans Barret when Sazh has one of the highest damage potentials in XIII…Blitz Loop anyone?
Edit: Forgot to mention Valfodr(RAV), He is currently my overall basic RAV because of his Raw damage and better HP value then Lightning(RAV). However Lightning has better overall versatility tho shes more of a glass cannon sort of deal.
Yeah, Bunkerbeast is one the top sens too because of his high HP but i still picked Goblin Chieftain over him due to that feral link. Cloudburst + GC is just a versatile combo because of the buffs provided in their FL’s making the syn role sort of covered.
Valfodr is consider the most damaging, but the best is debatable to me. When you get him (normally), there is just no reason any more for him due to probably beating everybody, he’s also too hard to level up, plus his placings on field sometimes is a problem. I still consider Rav-Lightning the best. Her physical to magic power is just even, she can do tricks with the stagger meter (which is the main purpose of a rav), she’s fast, has no problems with placings, a powerful FL, easy to level up, and 6 atb hits making her the most well rounded rav. Her damage base is lower than Cloudbursts, Blue Chocobo, or Valfodr but the package that comes with her makes it all up. If it wasn’t for cloudbursts ect limit break, i would have stuck with her.
I find RAV Lightning being better in most situations if you build her for that use, for example my build has good HP, High Magic(my Light actually exceeds Cloudburst), and a crapton of OP passive skills along with lv.3 Elemental spells which makes Farming soooooooo much easier, also because I had the extra slot, auto haste. With that set up, Lightning feels really strong and imo Top of the Top 3 RAV in the game, Valfodr and Cloudburst right after her. Truth be told I originally built Lightning(RAV) to mirror my equipment setup in the original XIII post-game using the Axis Blade and Boost Synthesis group, imo the second best weapon for Lightning in that game, first being Lionheart.
But Fighting Valfodr, using himself makes life easier(especially lv.99) because of his Raw HP and Damage pull, overall making that battle feel safer then using Lightning or Cloudburst.
The game being limited to two characters was a big problem for me at the beginning but that faded away as i got further in the game. It was just too fun.
The biggest mistake of 13-2 imo was
The equipment capacity. I have no idea why there are 4 slots when the maximum is 100.
2 i think they should have made the monster pack more than 3. It pissed me off that i could only chose 3 when there so many good monsters with different roles that could make useful paradigms. I couldn’t go salvation all time because a sent is needed.
Catcuar is a good COM to, i think he is potentially just as good as chichu because he rapes yomi hard.
The equipment capacity was a lazy way to balance and nerf the gear from the original game because we all found out how to exploit imperial amulet with X Resistances for example:
Imperial Amulet with Champions bet and Gaian Ring made Super Turtles look like scrubs, replace the Gaian Ring with Sylphid Ring and you effectively made the last Mark(#64) a cake walk. Yeah, so you have a extra slot…for your Genji Glove…yep…yep…
Thats why I believe they made a half ass nerf to the equipment, also I believe they wanted to make you feel weaker in XIII-2 then in the original game since your Not playing l’Cie.
Limiting your monsters is something I thought was a good thing because lets face it guys, it would go back to post game XIII game, running 3 of the same Paradigm again and that is kinda…yea…lets not do that again. Now they want you to make specific paradigms and want you to use your noodle abit. Personally when I really got into using all the new perks to the Paradigm system, XIII-2 did feel more refined then XIII, it’s just sad that I couldn’t do this with Lightning and Co.
Catcuar is ok, but I find even Alomar better then it at times(not going to lie, I spent a good deal of time finding a strong build for him), that and I can’t get enough of him calling people Vermin.
Lifted straight from lamefaqs because i’m lazy.
Yes it’s it own system but if you want to look a raw potential and tiering them up as who the best black guy with a gun is.
There is no contest.
It was better as 3 because of it invoking challenge and strategy. Some bosses do require different set ups like Gilgamesh. I had to replace my Rav (Lightning) with Nabaat due to that wound spam trick.
For that best monsters list, Pulse gladiator should be inserted there for the Sen. There should be a tier list for monsters pre-game too not just end game. Normally, Com Rav and Sen are the well rounded end game paradigms.
13-2 is easy mode, glad it’s not so linear than 13 but having 2 chars only makes it easier. You don’t have to worry about leveling up the other ones, finding gear for them, completing their storylines, etc. I wish they didn’t recycle 13 again like in -3 but whatever. I thought the countdown storyline in -3 could have applied to the first half of FF6, with a new game + being the only way to beat the countdown timer and get a different ending. But I’m glad they didn’t go bankrupt on 13-2 because I know this didn’t sell too well just for being the 2nd “new gen” Final Fantasy game, so disappointing.
Se just seems like a ship without a rudder in regards to the FF series.
Like a throw shit at a wall and see what sticks.
Every game seems to want to reinvent the wheel, abandoning the older solid aspects of the series to revamp from the ground up.
Honestly how many engines do they have now?
Rather then reinventing a new one every time i wish they branched off the existing one with a more subtle addition of things like the chrysteriam/sphere grid,Paradigims, pokemulitation etc.
True dat. My pack is Vlightning/Cloudburst/Chieftain, the reason why i go for this instead of 2 lightnings is because of the versatility of the pack. Cloudburst and Chieftain are like double role characters giving me an instant syn so i have room for multi purpose Parads… My R-Lightning is better than my cloudburst, offensively.
Funny thing about the Ravs is that they each have one thing over the other. Lightning being the most well rounded, Cloudburst holding the most useful FL, and Blue Chocobo being the best in magic damage. I think those 3 are the practical best 3 ravs in the game, Valdfor is that powerful it’s just once you get him there… who’s left to fight? So interms of over all, i still think Lightning, CB, and BC are the top 3 but that does not exclude Vald from the top tier.
Sazh will be higher dmg wise just because of the difference in the battle system allows him to be.
Barret is still a better character story wise and gameplay wise imo though.
Very much the opposite of this, hardware limitation’s aside Sazh was a bit player like the dude was just along for the ride.
Barret on the other hand started a revolution that shaped the entire world.
Barrett was the leader and he had Cloud under him. Pretty much boss, then again it’s all about graphics with kids now days. I hate seeing Final Fantasy ranking lists that does not have ff4 or ff6 in them.
Whatever the opinions on graphics… They really need to make a FF7 and FF6 remake because those 2 are part of my top 3 in terms of production. If those two were remade and translated in this day of graphics and some other touch ups in the digital music and game features… there will be no doubt that those two will be the best ever made. Right now, based on their original releases, i consider 6 to be better than 7 (maybe favoritism is causing that opinion…) but if both were remade I think 7 would likely be seen as the better game.
