The Final Fantasy Thread 2.0 | FFXV: OUT NOW! It Really Did Exist

International version is much easier since nothing is immune to status-breaking attacks.

That’s kind of dumb but I guess the rest of us who want a challenge can ignore it.

I played through FF8 once more and found I like the story a bit but I think it tanks after Ultimecia enters the scene, then I kind of lost interest because I had no real reason to feel any hate for her. At least Edea and Seifer kept things interesting.

And am I alone in loving Quitis for telling Rinoa off in the mansion?

FF8…thats one game where i had so much interest in it and then once i got to the part where everyone remembered there time in the orphanage, I stopped and never came back to the game.

Like i have no motivation to even want to do the sidequest for the GF even though i know they will help me towards the end of the game. I understand the leveling system but trying to defeat monsters to get items for my characters weapons is getting ridiculous.

Well yea…the orphanage part I just pretend never happened.

Only sidequest that is a pain is probably Squall’s ultimate weapon because Malboros are the worst enemies ever.

haha, the orphanage. It’s ruined that game for sooo many. I stopped right there my first time through on the U.S. version. I eventually picked it up and completed it bu damnt hat was awful. Thankfully when playing the import prior to the US release I had no idea what was goin on  I catch shit from my friends for importing FF games, but I like to have the US and Japanese versions of each release  Can’t read a lick of the story but can do character names and spells etc… good enough for me.

hell ya, someone else who has 8 at the top.

I can’t remember the story because it was like, 10 years ago, (wow…) but that game is one of my favorites too.

The button combo’s for characters special attacks were fun, the card game was awesome, the summons looked amazing, and hunting monsters for weapon and armor upgrade made random fights (90% of the game) interesting and worthwhile. Most of all it motivated and let me enjoy what SHOULD be the real enjoyment of rpg’s, exploring.

Most of all I was sold by how good the life-like character designs were, which were a first for FF. The cinema’s were good enough alone but was also a bonus how smoothly they merged into the gameplay.

I don’t understand what people like about ff12 voice acting though.

Expresionless Bach: "We should go to Nalbina."
Blank faced Ashe: "Yes."
Doe-eyed Vaan: "Where do we go?"
Off camera Balthier: “Over here”

BORING!! I dont think one character expressed a single emotion the entire game. Its like when Basch gets pulled up from the pit all tortured and groggy…

Bach: "Hello, I am Bach. " wtf?!

Hell yeah. I’m loving this FF8 and FF12 love.
FF8 is my favorite for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons is because it was the first FF I actually played myself; all of the other FFs before it I just watched my brother play. Also, it was just too damn fun pimping out your characters with the strongest/best magic spells in the game (Drain junctioned to ST-Attack for the motherfuckin’ win!). Fighting on the islands closest to heaven and hell are fun, too.

FF12 is amazing and I enjoyed every minute that I played it but 1) summons fucking blew and 2) quickenings were a sorry excuse for limit breaks. I rarely used them and I hated the fact that they largley depended on luck rather than skill or how your character was customized. Still, great combat system and the graphics were beautiful.

It’s a very smooth sort of way of expressing things. I’ve never been into the whole over the top you must feel every pore of my emotion way of voice acting. It sounds very forced to me, and not natural at all. FFX sounded a lot like this to me, with FFX-2 making huge leaps and bounds overall in terms of voice acting.

The ones here were all business. Balthier was spot on, someone that plays it cool and just leaves some dry insults in the air as he walks. Ashe was a dedicated girl going straight towards her goal, no questions asked.

Dr. Cid I thought was another excellent one. Some crazy eccentric madman that is in control. Sweet. Most others were great too.

Fran can’t be saved though. Her voice sucks. I get that they wanted a certain accent for her but seriously, it was weird. :wtf:

As for FFVIII, I love it because it is so horribly unbalanced. While I wouldn’t really call it a good game because of that, I do love the fact that I can just plop the game in, play for a few hours as a godlike being. Great stress relief.

FF13 for XB360. No joke. Check out E3! :wow:

I saw.

And that is fucking awesome.

That fucking sucks. Now it’s going to be handicapped by DVD capacity.

Even though that is true, I can’t help but be happy, since now I’ll actually get to play it.

Oh, they can just put it on 4+ disks, no Final Fantasy fan’s gonna care.

I thought tentacles were for Quistis…

I’m pretty sure he means its going to hinder the quality of the PS3 version, I mean they’re probably going to want to put it on as few discs as possible…

first off, FFviii is my second favorite ff next to ffvi. it’s dope to see the ffviii love…

~

ff for xbox360? wow, big loss for PS3. i’ll admit, as someone who wanted to see ps3 catch up, that made me a little sad, but that is great news for the people who own 360, but no ps3, and don’t want to pay $400+ just to play the game.

i’ve just started playing ffxii. i’m way in the beginning, but i believe i just messed up on getting the zodiac spear. should i restart, or do you think it’s not worth it?

ANOTHER ffxii question: i heard that ffxii characters make appearances in ffta2. Did any ffta characters make appearances in ffxii?

-if you’re not too far then yes, it’s one of the strongest weapons in the game, and you can it get around the middle of the game…

-no

The Zodiac Spear isn’t even that good. Masamune and Tournesol are both better, and your third character should probably be a caster with either a shield or Whale Whisker anyway.

Zodiac Spear is overrated anyway. Masamune + Genji Gloves tears shit up.

jesus, you guys are talking almost end game…

i <3 genji glove. s’good to hear they have them available in the game. the license system is great too. although i thought the grid system in X was fun, this one is more straight forward. i can’t get over how great this game looks though,.,., or maybe i’m just too hyped for xiii+vs.xiii
