concerning the patched in button controls. I wouldn’t mind it if they had a small damage penalty associated with them. Maybe -5% less damage in their punches or even as much as -10%. It’s a lot harder to punch with the analog in my opinion and that would make it more fair.
I dont mind the buttons patch even though I’m a hard core tpc user. I know the button users are going to go for the head mostly because they can now throw punches easier which will make it easy for me to counter them. People throw mostly body hooks and uppers in this game because its the easiest punch to do. I throw body shots myself but its to get the stamina down and I always mix up body head body head. lol I just got done fighting this one guy who threw litterally around 500 body shots and about 200 head shots. Beat him real bad because he never caused any damage to my head.
Thanks to the buffering system I don’t think buttons will be as much of a problem in FNR4 as they were in FNR3. Especially since now the body shots for the TPC user can be thrown without stopping movement.
I mean, if someone button mashes, just back-dash… Every single button they pressed their guy will throw the punch for, which is going to lead to a lot of whiffs, which leads to a huge chunk of missing stamina.
Screw that. I’ve beaten a few “analog mashers” with the parry system. Mashing will get you nowhere if you play someone who knows how to utilize the defense mechanics.
In regards to button mapping, I’ve grown to like the TPC now that I dont have to duck anymore in order to throw body punches. It took some getting used to, but in the end it’s worth it. I still feel TPC is imprecise, but it has its own advantages.
