There is no excuse, no logical reasoning for turning down thousands of dollars to help research cure and treatment of a literally life threatening disease, just because it’s from people who saw pictures of naked celebrities.
You can’t even say it’s because of publicity or saving face, because it’s fucking cancer research. There is no “I’m not going to donate for the research of a cancer because they took money from people who looked at celebrity nudes”.
This is the real injustice, the real tragedy here. I could give a damn about hackers, they need to put the prostate cancer people on blast for that shit.
Come on guys, if this keeps up legislatures may come up with ways to make fapping to nude photos illegal.
Secondly,I believe there is already cures for cancer, but fuck that companies in the medical field are making millions servicing cancer patients. Donating money for these organizations to find cures seems like a waste now. How many years has it been and how much money are they making from donations. My mom died from cancer. She decided to change her diet and was up and about eating herbs and healthy vegetable until she had chemo the doctor highly recommended. She almost died after the second visit when the chemo almost tore through her stomach. My aunt and uncle were healthy until they started that treatment. They all had the same result and died a painful death.

thats pretty shortsighted. charitable groups and famous people build relationships with each other because they know that both parties benefit from it. money for disease research->good publicity for public figure->repeat cycle. if an organization becomes associated with accepting money from people who knowingly violated somebody’s (read: rich people’s) privacy, they’re aware that they run the risk of losing out on more lucrative partnerships in the future with people who can relate to the victims (eg. just about any woman or public figure on earth).
besides, it should be fairly obvious to anyone with a functional conscience that the donations are essentially our way of saying “we know we’re doing something wrong and we’re sorry, so here.” people don’t apologize when they think they’re in the right.
What does that say about the character of those people?
