Sony had announced that long before they reveal how the PS5 looked.
Fucking that is this bull shit, Microsoft did the same exact thing when they started Backwards compatibility.
…This is a stretch. I can’t recall anytime that limited BC was introduced for a console that they put ‘play your old sports titles’ as a selling point or even making it a priority.

They corrected themselves on that right after the demonstration aired. What they meant to say “almost our entire PS4 catalog will be BC but we prioritized optimizing the top 100 selling games on the platform first.”

I would buy that in a heartbeat. I have the first two games on PS2 and they were easily the scariest games I think I’ve ever played, coupled with amazing atmosphere and the camera mechanic being really well thought out and awesome. I’d love to see those games get ports.
