The closest thing that I can think of that you’re asking about is the auras surrounding some of the characters’ weapons i.e. Kai’s Python weapon emitting this red aura or Zhou Tai’s Dead of Night weapon emitting electricity during attacks. AFAIK every character has one big star weapon that has a special property to it. You just have to find out which one that is.
I enjoyed DWG2 and DWG3 equally. They both have their ups and downs, but I can go from one to the other without feeling that I downgraded. DWG2 has space battles and a bit more variety to its stages, DWG3’s new mobile suits are fun to use and interface is more organized and easy to use, not to mention the cel shading works a LOT better for an anime based game.
In other related news, I finally got my hands on Warriors Orochi 3. Didn’t get it off PSN like I planned to, got it on 360 instead so I can have a physical copy. A handful of missions into the story mode and I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far. I hate to be that guy, but I’ll say it: I don’t like having only Japanese voice overs. I can’t concentrate on both playing and reading the subtitles at the same time. I was never one of those people who whined about not having Japanese voice overs though, I was always fine with the English voice work.
I know what you mean with the English voices…I miss them already.
The moon viewing option in WO3 really helped me out on knocking out the remaining Gaiden stages…I didn’t have to spend too much time grinding characters I didn’t really like.
Meanwhile, Lianshi is so good in WO3…I’m shocked.
I hope Wang Yi keeps that Ma Chao hate in future installments…need more women scorned.
I also hope they keep the subtle indication that she’s a drunken whore. Her Friendship line was slutty as hell.
My brothers and I called that shit “Death by a thousand paper cuts”, since it was just the sheer amount of little damage here, little damage there that killed us the most on Hard and Chaos. Dying to a stray jabroni hit is humiliating.
Is there a weak spot for the Snakes that I’m missing…I can’t seem to destroy one head without the Yoshi cannon being near death.
Can’t even get good damage even with the beam.
Man I had nightmares of DW3 Archers, that shit fucking hurt even with Namman Armor.
Unlocked Ryu Hayabusa and Ayane just now. They’re so godlike, speed AND power, the only downside is that both their charge strings are fairly similiar, but I still enjoy having both of them on my team for the time being until I come across someone else I like. I’m probably going to boot Ryu and keep Ayane though because her speed class is really good.
what stage is this you’re doing? The first time using the Yoshi cannon?
All you’re really doing is pestering their mouth with bullets and then when once they start chargin their lasers, you keep shooting their mouth until they reel back. Which then you blast them with the laser. rinse and repeat. (obviously their head is the weak spot/best place to aim for.)
otherwise it’s just alternating between heads to stop them from shooting shit at you and destroying the Yoshi cannon.
*Crossbows. Fuck those dudes. High ass health for non close combat peons, rolled EXTREMELY DEEP, ran quickly and continued their assault with no problem.
Ryu feels weird IMO. Even after getting his full moveset. I like Ayane but still feels weird. I feel like they’ll get the “Achilles treatment” in which beastly/fun/gdlk in their early levels, but struggle like crazy in higher difficulty.
I forgot is Zou Ci in WOIII and if he did he change at all? Dude was kind of beast in WOI & WOII
He’s in WO3…I think his rocket punch is no longer broken.
Two more stages and I unlock everyone in WO3. Gonna farm the hell out of my favorites.
New info about DW7:E to come out this week…can’t wait.
Not gonna lie, but characters in WO3 unlock so fast and there’s so many characters that I’m feeling overwhelmed at who I want to use. I feel like I should try almost everyone out (especially the Samurai 3 tab since I missed the latest SW game so I’m not familiar with them).
I think he’s meh. Most of the beam characters got kinda nerfed. His C4 is meh now, C3 seems to be just “ok”. He’s still passable on a horse.

Just a few more months…
I agree with this sentiment times 1000! There’s so many great characters and you unlock them so fast in a large abundance. I mean I’ve literally stared at the character select screen for like 20 minutes trying to decide who I’m taking to Battle. I mean Ryu, Nemea. Keiji, Toshiie, T. Honda, Deng Ai, Pang De, Xiahou Dun, Wei Yan, Naoe, Nezha, Sun Wukong, the list just goes on and on with great characters.
The strategy is to use the pellet rifle (that’s what I call it) and shoot it at the Hydra’s head. It’s gonna take a little while but eventually it’ll throw its head back for a few seconds. This is the ONLY time where you should use the beam. The beam is more or less useless other than to use it this way. When the Hydra’s health gets to below half, it’ll start charging up a fireball. When it releases it at you, immediately start shooting the fireball. The pellet rifle will cancel it out. Other than that it’s pretty much straightforward.
You can also get out of the Yoshi-whatever to avoid it taking any damage from the fireball. Shoot the hydra with the pellets until it turns blue, then hit it with the laser in the face.
Good lord Cryoh you got 1000/1000 for DW:G3
I’ve been playing for over 20 hours and have like 85G or so. How long did it take you?
It took about 70 hours to get 1000/1000. The online play took the longest, next to unlocking the True DWG stage.
LoL @ people saying Kaioh sucks and FotNS2 was meh.
Actually, when you think on it, the sequel series would make better and more perfect sense for a DW-style game than the first series. I mean, by FotNS2/HNK2, there were roving armies of both good guys AND bad guys working for benefit in order to kick the Gento army’s asses.
Then things got very strange with the Land of Shura arc. Final fight vs Kaioh was rather lackluster. Should have been more…demonic and menacing (last fight, at least, initial showings of Kaioh were pretty damn cool).
