The Dynasty/Samurai/Gundam/Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) Warriors thread

Naw. Sengoku Basara was one of the few Musou games I actually enjoyed. I just hate the genre as a whole even though it’s just 3D beat em ups gone crazy.
I have DWG2 for PS3 but I moved a few days after I bought it so I didn’t get to play it much.

Plus, going back to Sengoku, I find it funny that Capcom can make a Musou game better than Koei can. I find it really, really, really funny. And kinda sad on Koei’s part. haha

I seriously want that Sentai Musou though. I don’t give a fuck if its on the Wii. I hope it comes state side or atleast to europe so I can mod my wii to play it.

Damn near everyone has something broken tier about them in WO1.

Well to be fair, Capcom DID make the first beatemups way back in the day lol.

Yeah, I know. A lot of my friends who play Musou games were like “man…why can’t Koei make Musou games like Capcom? People would actually buy them.”

Hokuto Musou was a really big step in the right direction for them, but then there’s DW7, which while good, is still a few steps back from Hokuto =/

What woul you say was missing from DW7?

A varying amount of moves that can be performed. I mean, virtually every weapon style played the same in DW7 (with the exception of the paintbrush, bombs, and knives), just with differing amounts of reach. SB and Hokuto Musou really made it so that not only every style (Hokuto, Nanto, and Special) felt different, but every character felt extremely different. In addition, getting to choose your layout for specials added a extra layer of personalization to the game.

I’d get HnK Musou if all the DLC wasn’t so damn expensive. Cause it sounds like something I’d enjoy.

This is pretty much it. That and the fact that character uniqueness only extends to their musous and the EX attack. It’s true that the right musous make a difference, but it’s not like having a completely unique character.

DW7 is still Beta DW for next gen. I like that everyone can use all the weapons but it’s pointless if it’s all the same moveset outside of a EX and musou. At this rate, they’re better off just having everyone have a unique moveset like always, and just stay with that. Pretty much now everyone is a clone character minus 2 musous and a EX move in their respected weapon.

And for fucks sakes don’t bring back conquest mode. The more I play it, the more boring and pointless it is compared to free mode and doing hard/chaos mode for the better weapons/4th/items/etc. It’s a nice idea for a XL game but not for the actual game itself.

I don’t know about you guys, but I would love to see DW have an online multiplayer mode done GG2 Overture style.

You mean like Dynasty Warriors Online does it?

DW series is pretty lame now. You have people feeling that they owe themselves to it, like Cowboys fans, or being born into a family of Republicans.

DW7 had presentation, and good story. That’s it. Gameplay was stale as ever. You might as well equate switching weapons to changing your gun in a FPS just because you have a diff skin. “BUT EVERYONE GOT THEY’RE OWN MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSOU.” Yea, and? Stfu. Getting a hard-on because you can climb a ladder now. I liked it for what it was, at the time, and then I felt ashamed because the only thing pushing me to mash harder was the rock music.

You all can buy this every year like Madden. Until they add a random tailor as a playable character. "He made the most shirts in all of the land. He had sewn so many garments that he was called, “The Needle Dragon” by all who knew of him.

Or you can join the darkside. Basara is the one thing late era Capcom has done right. C’mon guys, you don’t owe Koei anything. You needn’t feel guilty for having a real moveset! The choice is yours!

To be honest, I haven’t really checked out DWO that much due to how the physics looked weird to me personally.

Or how about I like both? And liking Basara in America is dead now since Capcom stated that SBSH will be the last SB related game they’ll release here since they’re not going to release the expansion.

Yea that’s because Capcom are idiots in marketing anything that doesn’t have Ryu in it these days. Devil Kings was entirely their fault, for failed and shitty localization in an attempt to…umm…actually I don’t know what the fuck that was. And SB3 didn’t get enough exposure. I was still seeing commercials for Vanilla SF4 while this game was on the horizon about to make it’s debut. And the marketing team wants to hold that shit over our head with, “we tried twice, over two generations of consoles”. Yo…peeps didn’t even know this game was in stores. Store OWNERS didn’t know this game was in their stores. Some stores didn’t even HAVE this game in their stores. Stfu Capcom. No Basara charas in MvC3. We got dreadhead Spencer and Bionic Commando is on sale in damn grocery stores next to the spaghetti mix.

So rather than entertain the bs like a bunch of hopefuls are doing, I’m just importing. Like EVERY Basara game except SB3. Capcom really doesn’t give a damn either way how many units they move here. They even shitted on Megaman so they could focus on Rocket Raccoon otg’ing Vergil.

It’s whatever though. Basara doesn’'t need to verify it’s relevance by being released and supported in states. And thank God it doesn’t need translation to even be playable. It’d be nice, but now I don’t even care. I just want to see if they’ll feel any sting when Koei finally releases a SW for PS3 and brings that shit to the states. Prob not though.

wow mike, you have a lot of anger don’t you.

Not that I don’t basically agree with everything you said lol

I gotta stay cold-hearted. So I won’t catch feelings when they start the usual onslaught. Releasing $10 Ally Packs and shit. FEMME FATALE ALLY PACK (Mago, Tsuruhime, Kasuga, Matsu, Adult Itsuki, Zombie Nohime and Mitsunari lol) Then they’ll have a trailer for it on PSN with this song playing.

Love no one. Love will get you killed.

lol, that’s just sad.

Also Itsuki’s VA passed away so probably won’t see her again, if you actually cared about Itsuki anyway.

or just play both and be done with it.

Both companies are at fault. But companies these days are generally the start of the problem anyway. No marketing, companies not listening to the outspoken fans, refusal to change in their ways…this shit goes out to Most Japanese gaming companies.

Aw shit, I didn’t realize the weapon sets were mostly identical throughout the cast in DW7. Then again, I wasn’t paying much attention to it, just noted that it seemed to be particularly well-received (amongst DW fans anyways).

Oh well, maybe I’ll still cop it one day if it’s cheap enough. Still set on importing Utage. I know they were playable in Basara 2 Heroes, but this’ll be my first time using Kojuro & Sasuke. Personally, I like both subordinates way more than their commanding officers
