How does DW7 compare to some of the other games in the series? I am thinking about picking it up.
How you could play a standard DW games when DWG3, Hokuto Musou, and Sengoku Basara all exist is beyond me.

Those mobile suites you mention are specialized. Theres only 1 (maybe 2) flyin around at the same time. Plus those are mainly the bad factions and characters of interest that pilot them

Anyway currently, this is the Skill/Equip build Iâm using in DWG3 right now.
[details=Spoiler]Currently my build for a majority of my suits with the focus of killing Aces in 1v1 combat as fast as possible, Iâm using Heat Up, Ace Killer, and Beginnerâs Aid for Skills and Long Range, Airmaster and Minovsky Drive. This is so I can maximize the amount of damage for comboing and juggling Aces. For suits that use projectiles, Iâll switch out Long Range with Zero Range Shot to maximize the damage of lasers, bullets, etc.
Also as a bonus, thanks to Minovsky Drive, if I donât feel like being fancy, I can simply perform âlaunch > Boost Charge > [SSS > Boost Cancel] x infinity til the Ace dies.â The low decreasing Boost gauge that the Equip grants is nice as well when I need to get around maps fast.
Basically, if you know your suitsâ moveset, if you get one hit in and you donât drop your combo, you can kill an Ace with a just one combo thanks to this build.
However it comes with a drawback, especially Hard Mode. Since this build is purely offensive based, focused on 1v1 fights with Aces, it crumbles apart when faced with multiple Aces. And since you canât block (although who blocks in Koeiâs games anyway right?) You will eat a lot of damage if an Ace gets one hit in, but thatâs what Emergency Dash is for.
Also, it should also be noted that since the AI in this game can usually outpoke you 90% of the time for some unknown reason, you really have to capitalize on every hit, especially when you win at clashes, since it spells out a free combo for you. Also hitconfirm on when you actually land a hit on an Ace because a chance like that will be hard to come by, especially when facing multiple Aces hitting you from all angles.
With this build being focused on offense, when hitting a blocking opponent, it helps when you put âstaggersâ in your blockstrings. For example, do SSS > SS > SSSS, and the AI will try to outpoke you and it will either end up in a clash, or you actually landing a clean hit on the Ace, which is a win win situation for you.[/details]
Itâs basically a high risk high reward build since you canât block thanks to Beginnerâs Aid lol.

Anyways, hereâs my build strategy for when youâve gotta be dirty.
[details=Spoiler]For skills, I use Warriorâs Responsibility (Kou Uraki to level 5 Friendship), Turnaround and either Magnetic Field, Impulse, Beginnerâs Aid or Temptation (for my female pilots). For equipment, I use Minovsky Drive, Airmaster and Sonic Boost.
At the start of particularly difficult missions, I get myself killed three times and just destroy EVERYTHING. Female pilots end up being crazy good with Temptation, since itâs a 50% ATK and DEF boost against Male Ace pilots, who are the vast majority of the pilots that you run up against.[/details]
For skills, I tried using Fighting Instinct and DG Cells, and both are just no good in this game, since 50% extra damage + insanely high base damage = one shots galore. Serene Mind isnât worth it either, since all of the Mobile Suits that love to burn meter build tons of it as well.
