The Dynasty/Samurai/Gundam/Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) Warriors thread

Ken’s rage 2 and Kaizoku musou 2? Godlike!
Do we have release dates for any of those?

I still have alot of shit to do in WO3 so i guess that’ll do till these come out.

I’ll ignore the B:SR talk coz that game was beyond gross…

Kaizoku Musou 2 just got announced. No release date yet. Ken’s Rage 2 is coming out this month in Japan, and February in the states.

Damn. Because I have some friends who are critical of any jap VAs that aren’t of the original anime. Oh well, game still will ooze badassness. Gonna be weird to hear the jap voices without the screen pauses after the supers/secret techniques though. That’s trademark right there.

Also lol at how they made Ein basically an Ieyasu off Basara 3. Haven’t made it that far in the anime yet to see how the character truly is, but I may use him a bit in the game. “Zero-fucks given” punches.

One Piece Musou already announed for EU release…which means 90% chance NA gets it on PSN.

Is Shanks announced as a playable character yet?

Thank you for making my morning…I can see Li Dian as my new favorite.

Guan Yinping’s musou reminds me Matsu’s attack in a way.

Jump charge confirmed to be back this time.

Damn I can already tell, waiting for this game is going to hurt a nigga.

Koei Warriors must be blowing up now.

Blah.

I know DW will eternally crush everything and is the Lil Wayne of musous, overhyped and everywhere too often. But I’m still way more stoked for HnK:KR2 and think it will be the better “game”.

I bought DW7 during a drought when I was very bored. It had a great story but that’s all it did for me. I might watch my guy play a bit of DW8 one day. But that shit is like Madden. Real talk. However, unlike DW, at least Madden changes their cover boy.

Fuck Zhao Yun…

Hokuto Musou will always be the king of the musou games imo. Shit just flowed, the music, the story (granted its a re-tellling of one of the greatest animes of all time but FUCK IT!!!). The effort put into the game is truly amazing. From Toki’s coughing to the tree stumped shaped scar on his back when he saved a young kenshiros life, to the howling wails on the Cassandra stage. The easter eggs and nods to the original manga are plentiful and shows just how much care went in to the game.

As a side note in the manga its stated several times that Hokuto Shinken, Hokuto Ryuken and Nanto Seiken are sibling styles created during the…wait for it…Three Kingdoms era to protect the emporer. Hmmm, I think a cross over game with Hokuto Musou and Dynasty Musou is in order. Have the Hnk cast sucked into the past and choose sides as to which dynasty they think deserves to rule. Even better…have the original practioners of their styles face off against the HnK cast and see how their styles orginated.

Amazing game would be amazing.

Also my thoughts on One Piece musou tiers

S+ Tier: Whitebeard
S Tier: Ace, Luffy, Sanji, Jimbei
A Tier: Franky, Zoro, Brook, Hancock
B+ Tier: Usopp, Chopper
B Tier: Robin
C Tier: Nami

Ranking is dominated by Whitebeard. No one is on his level. He gets his own tier. Luffy has the best power up special, a charge loop with gum gum pistol, a versatile movelist and one of the best level 1s as well as a great level 2. He is the only character with more then 2 bars too. Ace is Ace. Charges faster then anyone. Awesome level 1 and has a power up special. Hits fast, hard and his great crowd control. Sanji is one of the fastest characters, and his very fast with amazing comboability but his best asset is his loops done by alternatting his unique moves. This lets him stun bosses fast and with a proper skill set-up he can kill pretty much any boss on any episode or challenge on hard with little effort aside from some half decent timing that is needed. Level 1 is good crowd control and his level 2 hitbox looks like its bad at first but its actually insanely large. Jimbei is basically tied with Whitebeard as the hardest hitting character. His specials both hit ridiculously hard. He is one of the slowest runners in the game which is a hindrance when trying to do missions quickly and get across the map.

The gap between S+, S and A is very small. Mostly though Whitebeard is easy mode broken. Same level as Raoh and God Gundam. Press buttons you win. Stop thinking it doesnt help you at all. You owuld argue that Ace is on his level, but Ace requires some actual thought. But seriously that Conquerors Haki. holy shit.

Chopper seems the most out of place right? Check this vid of my homie playing. Highest level chopper play you will ever see.

Guard point blocks everything. EVERYTHING!!! Scope greatly reduces defense. Chopper is the best boss killer in the game overall. So he has a very niche role and excels in challenges where you are doing a boss rush essentially. Also his level 1 evolves and grows in range and power the more its used. After about 8 uses or so its maxed and I’m pretty sure its the strongest level 1 in the game, though Whitebeards is still the best due to crowd control.

Usopp…Gas Dial niggas. Moving on. Robin is…underwhelming. Fun but…2 bars for one massive hit vs one enemy? Not really digging that. Also her block only…blocks…and Choppers is better. Still all her stuff is disjointed since its not attached to her hitbox, BUT alot of chars boast that same quality.

Nami is…dudes her level 1 can miss. Fuck outta here.

Franky and Zoro are both really solid chars with no crippling flaws. Franky just isnt completely stupid and his Fresh Fire is kind of a waste of a slot far as I can tell. Having to recharge cola leaves you open too. Zoro is awesome but his uniques kinda hold him back. they are good, but the charge one has 3 levels and getting hit with a knockback attack makes you lose the charge, the other unique puts the hitbox behind Zoro as he rushes. Cool and flashy but not that safe or practical.

Brook seems worse then Zoro at first till you realize En Guard Stance has levels and that Jackpot Brook skill greatly increases the duration of En Guard. He is kinda linear and pokey with his attacks but he has a decent crowd clearing moves. En Gaurd also enhances his running speed. At max level he is the fastest runner. He can do othe3r cool things too like lullaby loops on bosses when they are stunned, then play his violin for extra damage then special attack. His level 1 is great while his level 2 is mediocre, the opposite of Zoro. Hancock is similar to Sanji. Very fast, and combo oriented but she leans towards crowd control with several large sweeping attacks using her snake Salome and her ability to petrify enemies. She’s only lower then Sanji because she is slightly more meter dependent for taking on bosses,.

Personally alot of these positions are stupid debatable cept for Whitebeard, Ace and Luffy. Nami is decent but that level missing is unacceptable.

Nami’s level 2 with perfect Climatact can clear a room just as good as Whitebeards.

Franky can Dash out of his Cola recharge, and with Jackpot franky you can get a long time without doing it.

No one clears a room better then Edward Newgate.

No one.

Also he can’t dash out of it early. He has to wait until the steam first starts to come out. I didn’t say Franky was bad. He’s amazing. Most of the cast is actually. But I certainly wouldnt put him on the same level as Ace or Whitebeard like cryoh originally did. I see nothing broken or OP. Just a really great character, but he’s not mindless. If his jackpot does that then awesome. Didn’t know that. He could prolly jump a tier in that case. Like I said most of this is debatable.

Nami’s level 2 does clear a room as good as Whitebeards level 2.
Shit Ussop’s lvl 1 does too.
Whitebeard is just a powerhouse that can do everything amazingly.

I forget I have meter with Usopp.

GASU DIAUUUL!!! Boom

So Whitebeard is pretty much Raoh levels of brokeness. Gotcha. Can’t wait to play Kens Rage 2. Got one trophy left before I Platinum Kens Rage.

Just bought the One Piece DLC, and God damn. Some of these challenges are hard as fuck.

I agree with a lot of this, but I really can’t dig Chopper. Why would I want to stop to Guard Point and Scope everything if I could just rip it to shreds with everyone else? I think I could put him above…maybe Nami. Maybe.

Zoro can actually charge his R1 while doing other stuff, so it’s pretty useful as a combo ender. Additionally, you can cancel out of unsafe attacks with his R2 to open up space.

Usopp is also amazing if you equip him with the Galaxy Slingshot, since that changes out his Gas Dial for Impact Dial, which is pretty nuts.

All in all, if I was going to redo my tier list (taking the most busted coin combinations into account), it’d look something like this:

S+++++++ Tier: Whitebeard (quicker stun + more damage to stunned enemies is just too stupid with Conqueror’s Haki)
S Tier: Ace, Luffy, Sanji
A Tier: Jimbei, Franky, Zoro, Brook, Hancock
B+ Tier: Usopp
B Tier: Robin, Nami
C Tier: Chopper

Edit: Whitebeard’s also the best boss killer in the game with the listed coin combination, since he can just insta-stun any boss not in Logia form with a quick R2. Why else are most of the top 20 spots for the challenges taken up by Whitebeard?

Just bought Bleach: Soul Ressureccion.
Hope I don’t regret it.

Did you get it for less than $40? That’s probably the price where I would have been okay with picking it up.
