There still is no release date for the EU version. I don’t know about the PS3 server, but the PC ones are good. The only lag I typically notice is from my crappy computer.
On a side note, Squire Towers are not OP. Squire Towers exist to block off areas, and they do their job well. But, without the help of another class’s Tower, your Squire Tower is probably going to go down in no time.
Even still, things can get difficult if you don’t have someone with a Tower Repair build (this someone should probably be an Apprentice with max Overcharge and Hero Cast Time). Yes, I know, the Apprentice Towers are outclassed, but an Apprentice as the Repairman is one of the most important group roles.
If Squire Towers are nerfed, then I’m not sure that Summit on Insane will be possible anymore. My suggestion to balance Squire towers is to greatly increase the health of the first Squire Tower, and greatly reduce the health of the Slice N’ Dice Not that any of that matters, because the only Squire Tower (Blockade) worth using is the Bumper Blockade (if you haven’t figured this out yet, then try it).
I know that a big complaint is XP, but XP doesn’t matter much in this game. With the help of a friend you can power-level to 70 in a few hours.
So, what does everyone else think about balancing Squire Towers instead of just blindly nerfing them…like most people seem to want.
Well, there are 3 events scheduled for November. Maybe that will bring you back. According to the Devs, the first event, the Halloween Spooktacular, is going to include a “ton” of Costumes, Pets, and Weapons. I would assume that all the events are going to be similar in that fashion.
Beserker, the first DLC character, is going to be released in Mid-November. It will coincide with the second Event for the month. The next DLC character, Series EV, will be released in Decemeber. The devs just said that they plan to bring one new character per month for foreseeable future.
@Galatic. I can’t believe my brother just joined the game without sending me a message first. They really need a way to lock rooms.
lol is there no way to make a private match on the PC version? I absolutely cannot wait for DLC, i have already put 40+hours into this game and im still not even close to bored.
You can make Private games, but anyone who is your friend can just join without an invite. Then anyone who is a friend one of your friends can just join. And so on.
Are the challenges just impossible without teammates? I’ve tried 2 of them, Unlikely Allies and Zippy Terror (something like that), and its ridiculous.
The Unlikely Allies is the one where you have to keep the Ogre alive. I can get to the last wave, but fail right near the start of it.
There’s no way ZIppy Terror can be done by yourself. There’s the 2 Crystals you have to defend, you are not allowed any towers, and the level is only those little suicide goblins. 10 seconds in and they’re rushing the crystals and detonating.
Yesterday I got up and started playing (xbox) and my equipment and mana were completely wiped, but my characters were intact. Really wish I knew what happened. I couldn’t really find any similar occurrences on the official forums. You guys ever experience anything like that? It wasn’t a huge loss since I didnt have anything special on my characters at the time and I’m low level now but if it happens when I’m decked out and 70 I’d imagine I’ll be pissed.
Besides, that little hiccup though, I’m absolutely loving the game. Tower defense games are a guilty pleasure of mine to begin with so I’m really diggin it. Outside of fighting games , DD is getting all of my time for sure.
Oh my god, I’d break my tv if that happened. I’m sure people have 10x the amount of mana I do, but I’ve got 100k in the mana bank. I haven’t really bought anything or powered up any of my weapons/armor. I’m just saving it until I have some sick gear or a pet that’s better than my current.
In the tavern, when you talk to the shop guy, it says you can buy experience for like 70k mana or something like that. Is it worth it?
Well, not every mission is possible to Solo with every character. Maybe you need to switch tactics.
When you Solo, it is almost a necessity that you use multiple characters during the build phase. Certain combinations of Towers are really good.
EDIT: To elaborate on my last statement:
If you want to solo Challenges, the easiest way is to level a hybrid Squire with 70 Points into Tower Health, 70 Tower Attack, 70 Blood Rage, then split the last points between Hero Health and Hero Cast Time. Give him an elemental weapon with 25+ upgrades. You also want a tower Monk with 70 Points into Tower Health, 70 Tower Attack, 70 Tower Area of Effect, and the rest into whatever. Now you place your defenses (Bumper Blockades) with Strength Drain Auras around them to kill stuff on the ground. You place Electric Auras with Harpoons supporting them to kill stuff in the air. If an Ogre appears, then you beat it with your Blood Raged Squire.
some challenges are next to impossible to do unless you have a certain class or teammates for it. one for example would be the no towers allowed challenge where you must cover 5 areas of monsters with no towers, which is almost impossible for a squire/monk to solo.
1 Gig download. Guess it adds a good bit of stuff.
You also need the Free DLC in order to start the Halloween mission and get the Costumes. 4 costumes unlock automatically, the other 4 must be earned from the mission.
The devs decided that Events will not be taken away. So, no matter when you get the game (for PC) you can still play the Halloween event. They also decided that Events will go to Open after about a week of being on Ranked.
Made Spooktacular skins unlockable by beating Spooktacular on hard, though second set of weapons remain Insane-only
Fixed various Spooktacular mission bugs
Make costume unlock requirements clear in the costume selection
Bug Fix
Fixed potential double-upgrade bug with superfast mouseclicks
Fixed bug in algorithm to determine gear stat allocations, that was making high-end gear less likely to have Defense Damage and Defense AoE stats.
Monk
Reduced Energy Drain rates on Electric and Ensnare Monk Auras
Squire
20% increase to Spike Blockade HP & its exponential HP ramp
30% better exponential damage ramp on Squire Circular Slice
Slice and Dice Tower no longer has such a vertical sweep to be effective against enemies above it
Nerfed Bowling Ball & Harpoon Turrets a bit more: bowling ball & harpoon damages reduced by about 33%, attack rate reduced by about 25%, bowling ball projectiles now limited to 6 hits before breaking, harpoon projectiles now limited to 12 hits before breaking.
Fixed bug where Squire would turn around when entering block in Chase Cam
Apprentice
Increased speed of Apprentice Staff “knockback” animation by 40%, and increased its maximum (fully charged) damage output by 50%
Pets
Pets will now attack one of the Practice Dummies in the Tavern so you can check your Pet DPS
40% reduction on Imp/Engy repair costs
Made Genie pet’s “Grant Mana Bonus” upgradeable, and made him grant more Mana proportionate to how much its “Grant Mana Bonus” is upgraded
Fixed problem with Familiar attack rate being effectively capped (there was indeed a bug with this), and renamed the Familiar Attack Rate stat to “Attack Speed Bonus”. Now high-Attack-Rate familars are way, way, way more effective.
UI
Added button (Default “G”) to remote-activate your Eternia Crystal so you can begin the Combat phase from wherever you are
Removed Non-Infinite Build Time Option for Easy, Medium, Hard
Added Pause menu option to “Lock” game, which delists the game and prevents anyone else from joining it. Useful for turning public match into a private match, or making a private match totally unjoinable even by your friends.
Moved bonus-item crates back into the main section of the Ranked Tavern, out from the Secret Room
Added “Drop All Mana” key, default “M” key, and keybinding added to configuration tool
Fixed chatbox getting stuck during level transitions
Allowed mission unlocking at the mission selection screen
Made practice dummies average DPS over 5 seconds for a more accurate reading
Reduced self-heal mana cost ramp (cheaper to heal at high HP’s now)

Increased Insane/Post-Insane Kobold Damage by 20% and Kobold Explosion Damage radius by 20%
Items
Nerfed Spooktacular “Van Wolfstein” weapon about 40%, and Huntress Ability ‘Piercing Shot’ about 30%
Implemented exponential falloff to Mage Staff Knockback radius to prevent overlage values
Magic Blockades HP ramp reduced by about 10%
Monk
Increased Monk Electric & Ensnare Aura Longevity by 15%
Fixed
Fixed Private Match joining bug.
All Elemental Towers & Traps & Auras will no longer trigger/target on enemies that are of that element type
Increased repair speed vs Tower HP (higher HP towers will now repair significantly faster than before, as exponential falloff is applied to the repair time)
Fixed bug where Auras weren’t reporting Summoned to the status text area
NPC
Reduced Kobold explosion AoE to pre-7.06 value
Beefed up Ogre’s HP in singleplayer by 40%
Spooktacular!
Make Spooktacular a teensy bit more difficult: more simultaneous enemies and a slightly tougher enemy ramp. On the other hand, made Spooktacular loot drops (not rewards) better and more rare.
UI
More dropped items are allowed on the ground proportional to how many players are in the game
Achievement
You are now given the tutorial achievement in Ranked mode (again), so that you can progress towards Legendary Defender
