I updated the topic post to add a section of known combos. Before I go wild and start listing a ton though, I would appreciate feedback on the formatting of the combo notation. Is it hard on the eyes? I’m open to suggestions, though I feel notation without the icons is very difficult to read and keep straight.
that was a nice dramatic dorm xf combo. spikefire does loads of damage when fully connected and xfactored. probably not as much damage as explosion though.
You should also add that Dimesional Bubble hits OTG.
There’s already a combo thread but I dunno what’s gonna happen with that and who will take responsibility. In any case I think you should put down the combos with the icons (except for special moves); with how lengthy these combos can become, I feel it will be a lot easier to read although maybe it’s just a case of getting used to it. It’s your call.
Also great work on the Dorm stuff guys. Can’t wait to get in the lab and test this shit out for myself.
I’ll be updating the combo thread when we get more lab time. Work is done for now, so after class I’ll get a fair bit of time to go over that and update.
Done - thank you.
Agreed. After looking at them for a while, I like the way it looks right now. If it becomes an issue later on, I’ll switch it up. The jumble of letters makes my eyes hurt.
Ditto. I want you to know I’m not trying to overshadow your thread. I just intend for this thread to be, as I mentioned upon its initial creation, a one-stop location to get everything you need to know about him together. I will add frame data, what combos into what or combos from what, and maybe matchup and/or team building information later on.

i think we need a dormammu video thread.
Well, the problem with one-stop-shops is that they become really hard to read when you start looking through them. Eventhubs will probably have framedata, and let’s be honest - after a few months, these threads won’t be updated super-often. Every few days at best, just because discoveries won’t be coming as fast. It makes it much more convenient to have one ‘general discussion’ or ‘basics guide’ thread, and a separate thread for combo and strategy ideas. The OPs can be great, but still.
I can change the thread if needed, if you think you can handle combos and lab stuff and the like all in here. If that’s the case, I suppose I can handle videos, since that post will get out of control pretty quick.
it works on the entire cast i jsut dont have sent unlocked lol ill recap it with sent later tonight
No worries either way. This is my first character thread, so I like to shoot for the stars. Then, if things become too messy, I will cut some things out and make changes. It’s cool to make your thread whatever you like; I just plan on pulling combos as I see them and adding them in. As we get more and more combos showing up, I will probably cut it down to a list of the best combos (bang for buck), and I might forego assist-based combos entirely due to the space it takes up.
For now, I’ll just go with the flow and see what happens. I encourage you do to all you would love to do with your thread, and then we will just see how things turn out.
I’m liking the videos I’m seeing so far. Totally in favor of a Dorm video thread.
Have to re up video
Sadly i have to redo the whole thing for some reason it got cut in half =[
^I love the classic color scheme.
So after watching the stream tonight, which had a little Dormammu and a shit-ton of Sentinel, I’m starting to see that Dorm might be a decent counterpick. His specials take up so much screen space that there’s no way Sent’s fat ass is getting through them. He can’t Rocket Punch them, and they’ll just eat his laser spit and drone calls. Anyone have thoughts on this?
You have to worry about sentinel’s laser spit, and once he’s flying dormammu has to get him out of the air with normals, he can fly fast enough to avoid dark holes/purifications. That being said, you can punish all of sentinel’s normals and specials with chaotic flame on reaction except drones, which go through chaotic flame. Sentinel is pretty free for dormammu as long as you don’t get impatient.
I just tested his air combos against short characters like V.Joe, Arthur and the likes
after the launcher sj.:l:, sj.:l:, sj.:h:, sj.:s: or in the corner sj., sj.
, sj.:h:, sj.:s: combo fine. However I haven’t had anyluck with his sj.:l:, sj.
, sj.:h:, sj.:s:
Anything you guys want to test out lemme know.
Is Sentinel’s laser spit not absorbed by dark hole?
I’m sure it is, but Dark Hole comes out slow enough that you have to do it on prediction, and not on reaction. Dormammu actually has some issues with beam/bullet spammers because of this.
Sentinel’s normal drones, or Hyper Sentinel Force drones? It seems like there are only a handful of attacks that Chaotic Flame doesn’t beat on reaction.
- Really? A keepaway character that has trouble dealing with projectiles? That seems like bullshit. Does he not have any good response to them?
Doesn’t Chaotic Flame shit on them?
Basically his stuff come out slow (except for suffer, the flame carpet which you can do c., flamecarpet, c.
, flamecarpet, c.
, flamecarpet, into any air combo shenanigans lol)
Once you lock someone you lock them, once you let them in you get fuck because again the time it take to do dark hole and purification is slow. But I can see flame carpet as a base for all Dormu players against rush-downs.
But to answer your question it seems that with time we’ll learn when to use the moves better.
Also I think he has some crossups for his rush-down game also he get some good hit range by air dashing into his j. . I wish I had another player so I could try some teleporting stuff after pushback or even before a super might be too slow but we’ll see. Right now I love the fact that you can “suffer” from a reasonable distance and dash into c.
