I SWARE this is pissing me off so much. I heard “Makoto & Deeizm ? ?Stop?” in like l;ate 2006 and the joint hasnt even been released yet! ive been waiting for this tune to drop. I even just heard it on Fabio and grooveriders newest show.
Black Sun Empire is tight. But I’ve been hyping myself for USC 12 (Seattle) with The Prodigy and The Crystal Method. Yes, BOTH are playing live sets @ the same show…!!!
Hey guys, been getting into DNB. what do you guys recommend for Liquid/Funk DNB?
High contrast’s new album is awesome even if it is mostly a greatest hits. I’m starting to get really into jumpup/tech step DnB, if you dig that shit go look up steam recordings on myspace and listen to the singles by Wayz and Sidius. The song “Waking the Dead” is hella high energy and has a raunchy baseline to it which I fuckin love. I wanna mix a full set of jumpup/techstep here soon.

Thought i’d give this thread a quick resurrection and see if any DnB heads are floating about. If you are feel free to check out the mix i did last month, I think it turned out pretty good, still learning a few new ideas but not bad for only doing this for a little over a year.

I like it a lot. a bit too jump up ish/ clubby/non liquid for my tastes though lol. i like the mixing though. every time i try mixing dnb I end up starting new tracks instead of actually mixing.

No prob man, glad you like the mix. I definitely prefer mixing jump up and tech step to liquid, mainly because i like listening to it while having a beer and a shot. I have a real soft spot for liquid, but im not subtle enough to mix it well. I’m definitely looking forward to Sick Music 2 dropping later this year, that’ll be fantastic.
It’s good. Listen mostly to liquid though. I looked through the posts and saw you talk about “waking the dead”. Interesting dnb. This is the first time i listen to that.
What I want to do is create dnb.
While mixing is fun, i feel like i can do so much more making the beats. I feel like I’m being drawn in that direction. I still have to do more research. Figure out what i need to start. Can’t wait!
I feel you on that, and my next goal is to start producing. My buddy who owns all the turntables/equip that I do my mixes on also has a copy of Logic Pro and a Midi Keyboard on his Macbook Pro, and that’s what I’m saving up for. Logic is an insane program and is what a vast majority of the major electronic music artists produce there work on. If you’ve got that, and any cheap old midi keyboard you are set to start delving into producing.

Klaige, would you happen to know which program will work best with windows OS’s? Noticed the logic pro work with apple comps. Can’t afford to buy a new computer right now hahaha. Maybe on a later date.
