there’s no lag on assists. also, the x-box doesn’t slow down no matter what you do. the double dhc to hail doesn’t even slow it down.
random pauses vs crucial differences in the game engine
I’ll take the boxes
worthless info: controller is spelled wrong when the blue box comes up…Console players are very used to that shit.
The missing frames do not affect game play, even though there are less visual frames, the time frames are still intact for each characther.
Invincibility is also the same, ken’s dp, cyke’s gene splice, are still invincible, as I’ve gotten off of my back with a gene splice ane went through cable’s AHVB.
Sound doesn’t skip its just horrible as hell. Strider sounds muffled as well as everyone else.
Also the slowdown is mostly stage related. You pick the ice raft stage, and if air combo point and assist, you get rediculous lag/slowdown. Factory stage too. Pick Ice cave, and almost no slowdown, or fire stage. Unless opponent calls doom assist, and you do assist + typhoon cancel to hail, which slows down the arcade as well.
However the engine is slower, and the timing for guardbreak is different too. And when 1 charachter dies, the next characther takes longer to come in.
yet i’ve been TK shinku’d while doing gene splice? right…
i’ve done the ROM infinite and it’s slowed down
and frame hitbox timing is different, as i’m able to do clk, clk, rp about 40% of the time, whereas in the cade / dc i can do it about 95% of the time…
Ugh “However the engine is slower, and the timing for guardbreak is different too. And when 1 charachter dies, the next characther takes longer to come in.”
What did I say? The overall engine is slower, therefore rom will be slower too. The frame stun is proportionate for ps2 and arcade, so rom will be slower, but thats cuz EVERYTHING IS SLOWER.
Also that rocket punch combo has nothing to do with magnus’s hit frames, it has to do with the ASSIST DELAY.
Also, I have been on my back, while a friend did ahvb, and I’ve gotten up completely invinvible to it so don’t say it isn’t.
Also just a tip, its not called no stupid ass frame hitbox timing, its called hit stun, and when it comes to technicalities, I’m well informed/learned, so just nod your head and say yes.
everything i can do on PS2 version, i can do in the arcade.
i rom the same, tj. inf the same, what-have-you the same.
gene splice still has invincibility, just not as much as the arcade version.
you can only OTG once in a combo. strike 1.
yes it does alter gameplay. magnus’s s.hp is now smaller. strike 2.
wrong again. i still do all the same GBs as i do in the cades. GB with watever. magnus sj.lk ad/df, sent’s fastfly or unfly GB, whatever. i do it all the same. same timing and everything. strike 3, you’re outta there.
go learn some more old shit like doom’s unblockable, fuckin beezy.
peaced out
O.k. retard, number 1, the engine is slower so you can’t do any of that shit the same time. Every guardbreak that was in arcade is still there, as well as a few new ones, so I guess that was home run.
2nd, I was on my back with cyclops pause, my friend did ahvb, I got off my back did a gene splice which went through it, meaning gene splice is still just as invinvible. So I guess that was a ball.
3rd. Magneto’s C.Fierce is the same height, and even if it wasn’t it still wouldn’t qualify for missing frame, his cr. fierce is still exactly 6 frames (5 if you press down forward).
Like I said, don’t argue with me about technicalities cuz I know my shit bitch. Now u wanna say you can win more matches, you may be right (although from your post I would doubt it) but don’t tell me I’m wrong when clearly, I’ve done my homework.
So I guess I’m right moron.
I know a lot of people find it hard to believe that such a popular game can live untested on TWO consoles both incapable of blueboxes (PS2 and Xbox), but alas it’s true. The ps2 version ‘official’ testing I believer consisted of testing a few magneto combos, i think one didn’t work, and ppl were like ok this sux i’m not playing, the xbox version never started because the game didn’t have live support (although i suspect it’s a lot more accurate than PS2). Thats about all we know for sure.
the Xbox version is a lot more accurate. the PS2 version is very innaccurate. the first one i got was the PS2 version… it was crappy, and the basic shit that i used to do in the arcade, like… 4 years ago wouldn’t even work, like basic spiderman shit… you can’t even pause during a hyper combo animation. wtf is that? if i need to take a leak, i can’t ahvb and pause between so i can come back and finish the ahvb.
the xbox version is what thye have at the console cade down by where i go to school. it’s a better version, no lag, however, certain things where there’s no lag, there SHOULD be lag, and it slightly affects the gameplay, but NOTHING serious or important at all. aka, when you kill a big character, and do a DBI, there’s no slowdown, but there is on DC… so if you want to do a DBI, the timing is off. resetting with sent / commando doesn’t cause it either, so the blocking timing is a little harder… nothing important by far.
What is the basic shit that you used to do, but doesn’t work on ps2 with spiderman? Fuck this question bull shit, lemme just say it flat out, You’re fucking lying. Everything that can be done in the arcade (except glitches) can be done on the ps2. Xbox and ps2 are identical except for speed, and slowdown, so explain to everyone what the hell is changed, since you stated utter bull shit just now.
Even Dc seems different than arcade to me. If you do lk lk triple Spiral/IronMan/Cable on the arcade, you can kill a character many times . If you do the same triple on DC, spiral will past below the opponent in the middle of the combo and it will take something like 15% less damage. Maybe I mised something, but I notice this difference> i1ve never had spiral missing in the arcade and never had her doing the full arcade combo on DC…
launch, sj, magic, webball, lp, lk, pause. throw before land… can’t do it on PS2… you land early. no throwing. the day i get my DC version… back to doing that combo
I’m sorry I can’t help it if you can’ adjust to the speed differences. I’ll say this one more time, any combo that CAN be done on the dc, can be done on ps2.
Tips: Slow down the magic.
Bugs have been removed in PS2 version:
Juggy thing
Commando RH Throw of Death
Sentinel c.HP 2 hit (pretty sure)
Probably others. Don’t remember exactly. PS2 version is poor. Play other versions if possible. If not, be aware of the differences.
Juggy’s glitch is still there
Commando’s RH Throw can still be mashed to death.
Sentinel’s c.HP still hits twice depending on your proximity to your opponent, just like in dc/cade. You didn’t name one. But I agree it should be played on dc unless you have no other choice.
