Lol yeah, as Xdest said, just defend. You can’t use any tactics on scrubs.
That goes for any fighting game though.
There is no use creating some grand eleborate scheme to make them do something when they dont even understand the problem with their gameplay style to begin with.

I think this is why a lot of SRK’rs have problems getting into DOA 4. They try to rape newbs like this was tekken or VF with frame advantage on most moves, and it just doesnt work. You need to defend, punish, and counter against stupid people. Pokes work in moderation depending on the newbs basic instinct whether its to defend most of the time or just attack wildly, but thats going to be trouble against a random person flinging out god knows what if your character isnt the best poker.
In this game, the only safe option is to be safe. Being safe in DOA 4 does not include attacking.
And now you know how to kill any newb who plays DOA 4.
Quite. And remember, defense doesn’t only include blocking.
It could be countering predictable strings that are just thrown out there.
It could be spacing correctly.
It could be throw punishing after blocking.
It could be reacting to predictable grabs.
It could be crushing effectively.
It could be counter blowing effectively, especially if they keep attacking. Moves like Ayane’s 4P and Ein’s 4K are a testament to this. These moves don’t work that well against good defenses. But the worse the opponent’s defense is, the better these moves become, because the opponent will just still throw out moves without purpose.
etc. etc. etc… Consistency will only go as far as your defense will let you. Especially when it comes to beating newbs. If they keep getting throw punished, there simply isn’t any mixup, heh.
There’s no big secret to beating scrubs in DOA4.
I’ll just poke in and say this is WRONG WRONG WRONG. Tekken scrub rape is based primarily around spacing and evading the few things that scrubs can do. VF scrub rape is about baiting the random 2P or PPP string that you know is gonna come out and CHing them for much damage. Oh, and free high pounces.
The reason why people can’t scrub rape the same in DOA is because of the grounded stun system, and the fact that you can counter out of it. IMO without that it would be just like VF scrub rape.
And oddly enough a lot of moves don’t have that much advantage in VF on hit OR block. =/ There are some chars that are at disadvantage after some of their better pokes on HIT.

You can beat scrubs badly in DoA4 however your discription of VF/Tekken scrub busting is very inaccurate. Please try not to make DoA look bad by presenting false information of other fighters.
For clarification, I’m not talking about C type scrubs. They eat 4k if I play them but I’m talking about your average A level scrub. I actually end up eating a lot of throws because I block too much. I wait for an opportunity to interupt them but it ends up in getting pp f+p. Too hard to react to stuff like that. I’ll try reading up on what you guys said an thanks. I’m not crap though, I’ve played this game for months, just that I need to get back to playing.
Quota, are you playing online? Cuz I don’t think that pp throw game works well offline, you are likely to see it coming. What I did to avoid this and many other scrubby things is that I got into the habit of crouching or watch what they do so you can hold against it…throw the round if you need to. Things might be different now, but learning to crouch helped a lot and made some situations amusing.

Yeah man, I’m playing online. Offline, yes I can react to those type of things. An example is trying to punish a low wakeup kick by throwing down. Randomly works online through lag and works perfectly offline. Just need some info on how to beat online scrubs. 
Yeah, online most reactive stuff goes out of the window and turns those into anticipation situations. Sucks, and gives people a watered down version of the game.

I’ve come to hate playing this game online. 
I’ve been looking forward to getting back online with this game this past month my 360 has been in repairs and I got it back monday night. I finally jumped online last night and it seems as if everybody has become even bigger assholes in the two month timespan since I last played this game online.
Anybody here willing to play with me a bit that aren’t gonna act like assholes to me since I’m not that good of a player?
