for the american team match, fault was on both teams plus organizer.
first, team member shouldn’t have been changed after registration. no other team did that.
organizer should not have allowed that and they didn’t even notify them before the match to other team.
because its a team match, order is important and other team didn’t have that important info.
other team should have claimed before match start.
american team needs to stop crying about it. loss is a loss. you wouldn’t have wont the whole thing anyways.

I understand what you’re saying, but why should Americans get preferential treatment in tourneys? Wasn’t this year’s evo the first time that someone got to skip passed pools? Daigo got to face some of the best players in America by skipping the pools and Marn got to face Mago first round, who is arguably the best player in Japan. Also the TRF tournaments aren’t as important as Evolution or SBO and the Shiozawa Cup is just a prelude to SBO. I feel like you’re angry at America because its not as united in Japan in terms of support for its own players, which could be because America is diverse and not very nationalistic due to its diversity. Idk, some people just don’t identify with American players.
Well if this event was invite only, then it’s not even about paying money to get there. It’s exclusive. Therefore the operation should be legit.
But truth be told: People cheat if they think they can get away with it. Remember the Patriots, and Marion Jones, and the list goes on. I remember hearing about one year at World Cyber Games, there was a 2v2 team for Starcraft that used a MAP HACK and won… for a time. Case in point: Team LGJ doesn’t speak Japanese therefore they can’t really argue with what happens unless it’s crystal clear bullshit. I suppose the best they could communicate their dissension would be to throw a fit/chairs/punches but it’d do less good than giving the other team a rematch no matter how unfair and undeserved it may be.
Anyway, I’m sure this topic will be debated more so to cut my bit short: you can’t stop fighting if you’ve yet to be defeated. Don’t lose spirit.

What makes you think any player has earned their respect? Unless I’m missing something the best performance Americans have had in japanese tournaments is the Wolfe Brothers.
Also apparently calling japanese players better is being a fan boy when it reality its the cold hard truth. I’ve never seen a gaming community in the US be in this much denial about their skill level.
The travel shit is dumb too. Ya so what if you traveled a million miles. Its an invite tourney they’ll invite whoever they want to. No different then their being a 5v5 invite here and like 2 South American teams wanting into it cause its before evo and they are there for evo. Should a USA team be left out just cause one of the teams is from Brazil or something? No they shouldn’t because most likely the Brazilian team is worse or equal to the average american team. Kind of like the US teams wanting into the jap tourney isn’t it?
If you want their respect earn it, demanding it is just stupid.
As for the whole 5v5 argument I think it was wrong and shady by FZ’s team since they allowed Arturo to play and din’t say anything till after he won. They shouldve obviously noticed at the char select screen and said something if they had a problem with it but they didn’t so they should’ve been forced to play it out.
They should have put Arturo on the team earlier though. Makes me wonder if they didn’t have anything to complain about. Doing it AFTER the loss is though. Who was it on their team that complained? Fuck that player…
The momentum thing brings up a good point… Maybe when you are already an accomplished player in most aspects, there could be some value in mental practices? Doesn’t atheletes do that stuff to always put themselves in the right frame of mind? You know, sports psychology and stuff.
Momentum or not, getting screwed or not, you guys beat them the first time, and we running “a train”, well then shit, why don’t you get stronger mentally and learn to put the bullshit aside. If you guys are really that great, then you would have learned to deal with that shit and moved on. Bad calls happen in all sports (though I’m not comparing SF4 to any major sports, just a rough comparison), and the truly great players are the ones that overcome it.
