More FFX yesterday. Just kicked Yunalesca’s ass, it was a very intense battle. Now I’m catching up on alot of stuff I missed before.
Let’s see, right now I’m getting all of Auron’s overdrives, and one question, is Wakka’s overdrive a must have? I can’t play Blitzball for shit. I’ve only used the element reels just a few times throughout the game.
Wakka’s Attack Reels is a MUST HAVE. Once you get that, and gain Wakka’s ultimate weapon (or just customize whatever weapon he has as to gain the Exceed Max Damage ability, if you don’t feel like playing through 60+ blitzball games to get his ultimate weapon), and you get all 3 2-hit slots…everything just fuckin’ dies! :wow:
As for me…I just bought myself some Smackdown vs. RAW, and I must say I love this game a lot more than HCTP. Some may say it’s missing Goldberg, Lesnar, and Austin, but I personally feel meh about the last two, and I CERTAINLY don’t want Goldberg around. There seems to be more details on the graphics, and I feel it’s pretty cool that a weapon disappears after a certain time (you could abuse a steel chair for what it was worth in last game). I think the game needed a LOT of help in the voice acting (some wrestlers sound a bit lazy), but then again, it sure beats the bunch of captions from last game.
I also miss the multiplayer sessions since my friends are all working and shit.
Gradius V / PS2
R-Type Final / PS2
Capcom Fighting Evolution / PS2
Marvel vs Capcom 2 / Xbox
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection / PS2
Ace Combat 5 / PS2
VJ2 is out??? Is that import for the GC or PS2???
And how is MGS3? I was told it wasn’t to great, nor long. Thats all I need, another Halo 2 dissappointment.
Just got to the final boss of Fire Emblem, and… holy crap. That thing’s unstoppable. On my first round, it brought Eliwood and Athos down to 3 HP with counterattacks, then took his turn and finished off Athos. Second round, I attacked it with Hector, and it countered twice, killing him instantly, and I lost. I didn’t even take out half of his life. This game is hardcore.
Well, I had responded earlier but the stupid internet was acting up and I lost my post. Anyway…
If you leveled up your characters well, Dragon should be scrubby. As stated before, Athos can take him out by himself provided you have someone to heal (I used Serra w/long-range healing staves) and someone to pick him up before Dragon takes his turn.
For me, I didn’t have any trouble. I just used Foreblaze with Athos, then pulled him out and let Eliwood, Hector and Lyn annihilate Dragon’s ass. Sol Katti can hit criticals on him, and Durandal and Armads hit for stupid damage all on their own.
Damn man, You got GAY’d by the random stat generator. My Eliwood had maxed out STR (something in the neighborhood of 20-30, I think it was 24), as did Lyn and Hector (Hector’s is high as HELL).
Critical hit from Durandal to Dragon = 70-80 HP GONE. Critical hit from Armads to Dragon = GGPO.
Well, I’ve just been kind of going with the flow, not putting too much thought into character growth… as a result, my people probably suck. Priscilla died in chapter 27, so I’m stuck w/ Serra as my healer… Best unit? It might have been Hawkeye, or as I called him, Hawkeye the Invincible. On the off chance that something survived his attack with the Brave Axe, it would hit him for… what? 5 damage? Oh no! 50 HP left!
And I’ve gone full circle now… I’m playing Ur-Quan Masters again. Play it, bitches.
UPDATE:
Tried the map again, everything went pretty much perfect… then one turn before the Dragon died, a pair of those wizard bitches both attacked Hector and killed him. Game fucking over. Tried again, lost one too many cavalry, was going to keep plodding through, but then they Berserked Hawkeye… which pretty much means at least 2 of my people die over the next 4 turns. I swear to god.
$140 shipped. In the bracket of individual games, that 10 bucks more than what I got for King of Fighters 2001. But I can’t play it right now, cuz my Duo fritzed out and is about to go under the knife in Edmonton, is crossing fingers hoping it’ll get past the Canadian Customs bastards.
It hurt badly too. No more three digit price range games for me anymore. I’d rather play Ikaruga than blowing 200 bucks on Radiant Silvergun for Saturn.
whoah…the “36 Chambers of Viewtiful” is fuckin rediculous. There’s at least 2 Chambers that seem completely IMPOSSIBLE.
I think it’s #35 or so…but here’s the quick description…you’re in some tight area dodging knives that fly across the screen in various patterns. Eventually, there will be several WALLS of knives that come your way, as if MvC2 Spiral was throwing them…
There’s nowhere to go. The walls of knives have the whole area covered from cieling to floor.
They can’t be “matrix-dodged”
You can’t punch/kick them back or out of the way.
I really don’t see how the player is supposed to beat this…perhaps you just get hit and hope to Ukemi perfectly every single time?(*yeah, there are several walls of knives.)
Chamber #4 is actually a bit worse than this from what I can tell. It gets to a point where rocket-firecrackers are constantly on screen with more being shot off like every half second by those damn cromarty guys…there simply is NO way to dodge all that shit with just the first section of a VFX bar…and with ONE HEART…death is inevitable. You WILL get hit at some point. Show me someone who can claim to consistently get a Rainbow V on this, and there’s one of the biggest liars of all time. Just this and Chamber #35 appear to be far worse than anything in VJ1.
Fuck all that, I went back to the main game so I could have some fun again and actually win for a change.
Oh man. DBZ: Budokai 3 owns my soul for free. I’m loving this game. Dragon Universe just rocks my gym socks. I was playing as Vegeta the other day and instead of fighting Kid Buu at the end, I fought Brolly. The dude was HUGE!! I had to turn on the SS2 powers to speed up the battle. He wasn’t hard really, but I didn’t want to take any chances. Unfortunatly, I didn’t unlock him like I hoped I would. However, I did get the capsule for Gogeta and I got to fight Gotenks in the World Tournament Ring. Dude is TOO powerful. His Dragon Rush move polished me off in seconds in just one try. :wow:
Oh and for all you old-school DB fans, Kid Goku is playable, power pole and all!!
The fighting system has evolved from the simplicity it was from the first two games. The teleportation counter system just oozes with coolness. You can do fake outs with your Kamehamehas and play other mind games on your foes. And building up your character rocks!! I was fighting Super Buu (who absorbed Gohan) and he did the Super Kamehameha on my Vegito. I was afraid he was gonna buy the farm because I didn’t block it. I took the attack head on. Dude got up like nothing even happend. Sure I lost like one life bar but still. Dude is tough. Probably because the strength came from how strong Vegeta was.
I got so many damn games to play and it doesn’t seem like I have enough time. Anyway, I’m currently still progressing through Persona 2: Eternal Punisment. I’m about half way through or so. Other than that…I got my long list of games to run down. So mnay great games have been coming out it’s nuts. Just got MGS3…and I don’t even know when I’ll get around to playing that. Just not enough hours in a day.
I bought Viewtiful Joe 2, but have hardly played it. I’m trying to still finish the original first. I’ve now beatn it as Alastor, and on Ultra-V difficulty. So I have Captain Blue now. Blue is cool, but Al is still my favorite character.
I also got a NinDS and Super Mario 64 DS. I like how Yoshi plays in this game, reminds me of Yoshi’s Island, and I’m looking forward to playing around with the other new stuff. Luigi and Wario should be really cool. The manual says that Luigi can RUN ON WATER in this game. Holy Shit!
Still hooked on Budokai 3. I have nearly everyone unlocked. All I need is Supreme Kai, Cell Jr, Saibamen I think. Broly is just awesome. He has one of the best ultimate attacks I’ve ever seen and he’s just a blast to play as. Kid Buu is even better in B3 than he was in B2. He’s edging out some of my other fav characters. He has excellent ki recovery and sweet, sweet combos. And Goku’s SS4 10X Kamehameha? Teh ownage. Million, get over to a buddie’s house and play B3 ASAP. I never thought I’d say it but I like it better than Supersonic Warriors. Building up fighters rocks. My Vegeta is at level 42 and Goku at 38.
