Is X-men worth buying? I was thinking of getting it and just wondering if its good.
There you go! The game is EASILY a 9. Only thing that keeps it from being a 10 is character balance.
The furthest I’ve got on Gradius V is the boss marathon stage. It’s the modern version of Gradius III’s “Mayors on Parade” segment.
Speaking of Gradius V, later on I think I’ll pull out the Sega Saturn for some Sexy Parodius. The whole thing about the game is crazy for alot of reasons:
>if you do the Konami code the regular way, the words “OH MY GOD” appear on your ship. So to activate everything the arrows and buttons are reversed.
>The Medusa Boss at the end of stage 2 (I think), when you score hits off her, she makes this arousing moan.
>Several American Anthems such as “American Patrol” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” are used in this game, which would’ve been quite offensive if it did come stateside.
Anybody know when Smackdown vs. RAW is gonna be released? I’m really looking forward to it, as it seems to improve on many things from HCTP. The only downside seems to be the exclusion of major stars like Austin, Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar (I heard The Rock will be in there in some shape or form). I mean, I really don’t give a crap about any of them, but some of my friends say it would be lacking if those 3 weren’t there.
I was playing the Platinum Cup on F-Zero GP Legend today and I found out that some of the original tracks for the SNES F-Zero are in the game!! :wow: Sweet!!! I can’t wait to do some Time Attack races! Now that I can boost at any time after the first lap, I’m going to totally blow away my old SNES F-Zero records. They even put in an updated version of the classic Red Canyon tune. Oh man, good times, good times.
I’ve been downloading games like crazy off of Torrent sites for awhile now. Even though I already have it on PSOne I just found out Breath of Fire 4 was ported over to PC last year, so I’m trying that out atm. I got up to the end in my PSOne save, but I forget most of the story that I’ve decided to play through again just this time on the PC.
Argh! The Morlock Tunnels are kicking my butt! I had there’s tons of enemies this time around.
This calls for a new battle plan, which I will resume later today. Bed time for me now.
Good freaking grief!! I got to this spider boss in Gradius V. I had to fight him while going down a vertical shaft. Don’t know how many times I died. I made it to this weird place where bubbles were floating around and it was all pink and stuff. Guess I’m a gluton for punishment because I keep coming back to the game.
Almost exactly what I would’ve said. The gameplay is an excellent blending of the Vampire Hunter games and Freedom Force, and for the most part it represents the characters well. But the character blanace is horrible (one of the worst examples is Rogue, who both takes and dishes damage like a little bitch), and there are also some nasty camera problems.
Anyway, if you like X-Men, buy it.
The spider is easy.
1.) When you first get to him, concentrate on getting under him and hiding beneath the blocks to avoid his 360’ laser attack, and also to avoid the rings he shoots until his core shows and he is vulnerable to damage. When he lifts his legs out of the wall to walk, that’s your cue to move around them. You only have a second or two to do so with each step.
2.) Use your options to take out the cannons on the blocks below you. (I use Type-4 and the rotating option to hit them).
3.) The spider will then become vulnerable, but watch out for the falling blocks he hits when he walks into them.
4.) Make your way back up between his legs on the left side of the screen and pummel him for a bit.
5.) Watch out, because soon he will try to use his 360 laser again, so I suggest you get out after a bit and go hide back under the blocks at the bottom until he shoots it.
6.) Go back up to bombard him some more, and if you’ve been constantly shooting him, he SHOULD be able to get in one more laser attack before you get back in-between his left legs and finish him off.
I don’t know of a release date yet.
I just bought Super Mario SunShine, but won’t being playing it yet. I’ve barely even started on X-Men Legends. I’ve been pretty busy helping out around the house with fix-it-up and clean-up chores.
Hopefully I can get a PS2 off of ebay at some point, then get the 50 gazillion games I need to be playing RIGHT NOW. MGS3… Katamari Damacy… Gradius V… Rez… FFXII… Silent Hill 4…
Oh, and Remy - Star Control 2? This is a man who shows some serious taste in games.
Star Ocean 3 SPOILERS:
Finally killed that crazy-ass chibi Freya…she’s annoying as HELL. I just used the “uber-Fayt” strategy (making his defense so ridiculously high Freya can’t hurt him) and Maria and Albel. After an onslaught of Divine Blade slashes, Hand of Doom and Energy Bursts she finally died, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Stun Bombs save your ass in that fight, cause that goddamn Ether Strike will kill anyone but Fayt, or maybe Mirage. :lame:
Die Freya, don’t come back. :badboy: Oh wait…she does anyway. Damn.
I just bought an X-Box with two controllers, a memory card, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Fable from a friend of mine for $150. I traded in Fable at a Game X-change and got enough credit for Brute Force and some platformer that looked pretty fun called Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. All in all, a very good deal for me, except that now I have four uncompleted games (I don’t intend to play single-player on Wolfenstien, only multiplayer), which makes me feel pretty swamped right now.
Thank you. I played the original Star Control on the Amiga, and when the second one came out on PC, I snapped that up immediately. Story Mode was fun, but the real lasting value for me was Super-Melee. I just wish that it had online capabilities so that I could test out my skills against players besides my friends and Dad.
Favorite ship is without doubt the Thraddash Torch. Conservative use of Afterburner + the super-long-range forward cannon gives it a mean runaway game that I believe makes it the best ship in the game, despite only having 8 Crew.
Still playing F-Zero GP Legend. I unlocked a few more machines by beating harder cups. I’m stuck on Jack Levin’s final Story mode level. I have to win a GP race on Big Blue. I have to place first but the AI isn’t making it easy. It isn’t F-Zero GX hard but it isn’t a cakewalk.
As for Gradius V, I’ve made it all the way to Stage 5-3. Go me!! I have 5 credits and over 2 hours of gameplay.
I was playing Capcom vs. SNK 2 for PS2 a few nights ago. I’m amazed at how much I’ve improved since I’ve come to SRK. I actually beat U. Rugal 1-on-1 using Ryu. :wow: Now I use to think that was just impossible because U. Rugal is one of the most broken fighter I’ve ever seen. He owns Akuma and M. Bison for free.
Shadowhearts 2 is pretty dope. If you liked the the first one then you should like the sequel even though it pisses me off.
SPOILER What pisses me off? The bastards continued the saga with the dead Alice ending! All the work I put in the first game to keep that bitch alive and now she’s dead. LAME! I’m on the second disc now so I hope there’s some kind of way to bring her back to life. I hope it happens some kind of way or I’ll be disappointed. Yare yare, at least Yuri’s not in love with Karin.
I now have 6 credits on Gradius V and over 3 hours of gameplay. I read on websites thart after 17 hours of gameplay you’ll unlock Free Play. 17 hours??? :wow: Maybe I’ll have the game finished before then. I got to stage 6 and there was this green gas that I had to shoot to move through. It’s pretty tough to get through when all you have is 1 Option and your default gun. On the plus side, that spider boss can’t mess with me now. I’ve only died once when fighting it.
Hey guys, I’m finishing up Katamari Damashi and I’m pretty much sick and tired of all the lag on Battlefront (XBox Live). Is Gradius V less than 40 bucks? I might pick that up and play it for a couple days until Mortal Kombat: Deception comes out. If anyone wants to get some MK: D matches together on XBox Live when it comes out, send me a friend invite. My gamertag is ‘Spartan Oni.’
Gradius is $30.
Finally acquired a copy of “Vampire Chronicles” which I’ve been after for nearly 2 months. Its damn sweet and I’m enjoying it alot.
