THIS MAN SPEAKS THE TRUTH. Especially that last stage. C.O.O. 3 is the best place ever. Everyone is on an Exp50% geo panel and they are all grouped together for easy targeting. It doesn’t get any easier than that. Have fun with your Divine Majins!

Speaking of Disgaea, I’m picking up where I left off in La Pucelle: Tactics. I’m trying to spend more time in the Dark World, but I accidentally raised the Dark Level Index too high, stepped into the Dark World and got my ass kicked by a random forest creature. I can’t wait to burn endless hours on this game like I did with Disgaea. I still like Disgaea’s story better, though. La Pucelle is so damn church-driven.

Everyone slept on Metal Arms, the game took everything that made Halo fun and made it 3rd person. When it came out last christmas i was playing it everyday, you really have to play cheap against the computer bc it is so difficult, and insanely long. I hope they make a sequal.

Right now im playing:
Psi-ops - Great game. def up there with ninja Gaiden in terms of fun factor and the control scheme is real intuitive for the psi-powers. The story seems alright and the pace of the action is pretty decent. Im on the level where you first get the sniper rifle and now i have to control minds in order to open the gates. I am really lovin this game.

Spiderman 2- Wow they really did model all of Manhattan, thats crazy this games does alot of things right but is it me or do the buildings in the first game seem further apart, It made swinging alot easier. It seems like there is alot todo in the game and im still getting used to all the maps and icons, i wish they would have used less on screen icons, takes away from the immersion but over all this game is a step in the right direction. Graphically its a step down from the first, but the game has a bigger world so i guess its a trade off, hopefully the next game will be a combination of the two.

El

well i bought MS3 and still havent beatin it. I havent really tried however! Anyway I love my tertis/starwars combo cd which i got for under 8 bucks! Im also starting to like KOTOR which was collect dust for like months.

Mega Man 6 is fucking awesome, guys.

How long is the game? I’m only about 5 or 6 missions into the game and yes it is INSANELY hard. But its getting easier as i get better with the controls and weapons upgrades. The first time I play every mission, I usually get the crap knocked out of me, but I like the fact that after trying the level a few times, I start to notice the good places to hide and the best strategies. The music is pretty cool too.

I just acquired the rocket launcher and I LIKE!!

and I’d be all over a sequel.

The game has something like 42 levels and im on like the 23rd. The game does a good job of mixing it up, youll never get the same kind of game play back to back. On one level you will be saving a friend, the next you will be driving a vehicle through some mines ala halo. And you hit on exactly what i was talking about when i said “playing cheap”, you have to know how take advantage of the AI weakness and play hiding games. Some advice, try and get as many washers as possible and only buy the strongest weopons first, “rocket launcher!”. There is a techno/robotic level coming up and the monsters there are harsh, took me weeks to beet them cause they rush at you in packs and rejuvenate. Def. a fustrating game, i can only play it for a few hours cause i get so angry from getting my ass handed to me. More people need to get up on this game cause im sure its in the bargin bin and its well worth it.

El

42??!! holy crapnuts. I’ll be playing this game for months! not that thats a bad thing. i mean its good to know Im not like halfway through the game or anything.

and thanks for the advice on the washers. I’ll remember that. The hardest past Ive played so far is the first level where you have to drive the loader through the mining cavern. Getting the hang of that loader was fuggin hard! I died so many times. I didnt htink Id ever pass it, and it was onyl like the 4 mission!

but even tho it gets a little frustrating, its still a lot of fun

The best part of the game for me is how unexpectedly funny the cut scenes are…These robots curse more than i do. Yah i love the game as well.

El ( I think the next stage for you is the wastelands, it the one i was talking about…good luck cause your gonna be pissed)

That game looked really fun. Too bad it’s X-Box only.:frowning:

Actually, Metal Arms is for all consoles.

yea the cut scenes are great. foul mouthed robots. LOL

and thanks for the luck. Im sure I’ll need it! >_<
prays to the rocketlauncher gods

I just beat MM8 on the PS2 version of MMAC. Great ending but I’m still haunted by memories of the first Wily stage. “Jump, jump! Slide, slide! Jump, jump! Slide, slide!” If I ever seen anyone that looks even remotely like Dr. Wily I’m going to shove a snowboard so far up his butt that the tip of it will be sticking out of his mouth! What idiot at Capcom thought I couldn’t get enough snowboarding in MM8? Doing it a zillion times in Frost Man’s stage was more than enough.

Well time for some Power Battle/Fighters.

Well, finished MMAC (All the games) today with the destruction of MM8. I just wished that Capcom would’ve remixed the stages to all the other games and made them more…modern looking. Oh well, the remixed music made up for it(gotta find the soundtrack).

…I guess it’s back to VP for me. I beat it last weekend but I didn’t get the A ending, so not only do I have to do that, but I have to go through the Sepharic Gate AND the area right after you fight Surg too…

…At least Bloodbane got his ass whooped.:bluu:

I got my first 2 Japanese Mega Drive/Sega Genesis games today, a Taito shooter called “Master of Weapon”, and Herzog Zwei. I took a pair of small pliers and twisted off the plastic on the rear ends of the cartridge insert port so I could put the MD cartridges in. Herzog Zwei goes in fine, but Master of Weapon is a bitch to put in and take out. If anyone’s got a spare Sega Genesis Game Genie, I’ll be glad to take it.

Speaking of Herzog Zwei, I never played the American version, and I can’t quite understand how to play cuz the manual is in JP, can anyone explain how this game is played?

Anybody here playing La Pucelle Tactics? Is it any different than Disgaea…and when I mean different I mean none of that repetitive crap with constant visits to the item world to level up, having a better story, and not being a total chore.

I’m thinking about getting it one day but I don’t wanna end up buying it because of the eye candy and then realizing that this game is only fun for hardcore strategy rpgamers…not general gamers, which is what happened to me when I bought Disgaea.

Well…Recently picked up chrono cross (again). I never beat it the first time, although Im enjoying more this this time through because I have lower expectations of it now. And in my honest oppinion, the best part of it is the references to Chrono trigger.

Im also sorta playing GTA vc…Have you ever watched a friend or somebody play a game, and you’re like “damn, I remeber that, I need to go play that again”…thats what happend

i think im like one of the only people on the planet that actually liked Chrono Cross. i enjoyed the gameply and the music thoroughly. I dont think it was an “A” RPG. but i enjoyed it.

I miss Herzog Zwei so much. I rented it one time back then, and it was one of the best Genesis games I EVER played. Unfortunately, I don’t remember seeing it in any stores here…it was only at blockbuster videos for rent. My memory is hazy though…there could be other reasons why I could never get it…

PHANTASY STAR ONLINE—Chojin Adventures!–
Another long day of killing for the Chojin. After a Soul of a Blacksmith run, and a run through Mines, he hit up Ultimate Ruins. It was fun, as he hadn’t been here in awhile. As usual, the fights with Gran Sorceror’s were as satisfying as ever. This time, GS actually got him one good time with Megid. The Chojin simply resurrected with a smile…
"Good one…I’m sure it would’ve been much more satisfying without your Dimenian buddies holding me in one spot."
The Chojin took out his Holy Ray, and destroyed G.S. when he reappeared…before he could heal himself.

It would be a waste to turn back now…so Chojin decided to go all the way and battle Ultimate Dark Falz. The first form was an easy kill…but once again, the 2nd form was an annoying problem. It was quite difficult to even hit D.Falz2, due to not only his super speed…but the Darvants getting in the way. Holy Ray was just no good here, as the targeting was screwed up. Finally, the Rabarta spell did him in…

The third and final form was much easier to deal with. Slash attack meant nothing, as Chojin had 1,032 hit points by now. Grants is the only other threatening attack, and light resistance and “Resta-Dodge” took care of that. DF3 initiated his trump card tactic…the Soul Steal…but it was much too late. The Chojin’s powerful Foie shots*(backed up with Club of Laconium) killed him before the Soul Steal was fully activated.

At the end of the day, the Chojin was now level 142. Ten levels short of the precioussssss…Aura Field.

Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction = best console RTS, hands down.

I’m loving the fuck out of this game! Controls make unit management easy to learn, every species builds resources differently as they should, every unit has something unique that counters specific units from other species, and no species plays flat-out better than the others. You’d be surprised just how much thought was put into all of this.

It’s a shame that this game wasn’t made for multiplayer skirmish modes or online support (not even on X-Box), 'cuz it clearly has a lot of untapped potential. There’s not much else to mess with besides the 3 campaign modes, unless you want to clear every mission with a medal (by completing ALL objectives within a set time limit). It’s not easy, but definitely not impossible as I’ve got 9 out of the 21 missions left to clear out.

Course, there are issues with faulty AI patterns too. When cramming a whole platoon through a narrow hill pass, it does get irritating watching stray units try to accomodate that order by running around the whole fuckin’ map, just to get to that one point that was right in front of them. Some won’t have the patience for it, but if the units are pre-assigned to a directional button, veterans shouldn’t have a problem getting their asses back in control.

Perhaps the only asset of it that I could say IS truly fucked up is that in one of the Predator missions, you see that the Marines aren’t battling the rival Predator clan when you toggle unit spying and turn the fog off. I saw three enemy brawlers running through several cloak detectors and not getting fired upon. What kind of shit is that? You’d think all Predators would be alike if you were a Marine, but here, it’s as if they’re all conspiring on your ass.

But all that aside, man, I’ve never seen a more in-depth representation before on what Predators and Aliens are capable of. Sure, you got the basic cloaking and facehugging shit, plus the Queen’s big egg sack, but there’s much more to it than that. Predators are just too damn fun by nature. Lots of cool ass melee and ranged weoponry (gotta love those Hydras, Spear Masters, Vanguards, and Stalkers), plus cloaking and MediComps for every unit. Aliens are fun if you’re into torturing everything via facehugging, and breeding all kinds of cool Aliens (I try to create Cystic PredAliens as often as I can). Their mobility really alleviates the trouble Preds and Marines have traveling around the map, and they’re the most numerous, so they’re ideal for beginners but still good enough to hold their own against all kinds of enemy formations, including cloaked Predators (dealt with by “spore emmitors”). I thought the Marines would be boring as hell to play at first, but when I learned of their anti-tank capabilities, I got hooked into their missions just as easy as the others’. No mechnical unit can be impregnated by Aliens, and the mere existence of the Synthetics disallows Predators to get away with an easy stealth-based win every time. I just wish it didn’t take so damned long for medics and CommTechs to heal up everybody.

Are you sure? 'Cuse I went all over town looking for it on GC, but all I could find was the X-Box version.

Oh, and I bought and have been playing that TMNT game based on the new TV show. And screw the reviews, this game is pimp! Classic Konami beat-'em-up action, with some great quips from the cast and lots of playable characters. One complaint I do have, though, is that Casey should wear his hockey mask when you play him. He has it on in some of the cut scenes (and when you fight him as Raph), but when you actually play as him in story mode, it’s gone. Still, overall a very fun game with nice modern graphics but OG gameplay.

I think that Donnie and Casey are the best characters (range+damage > *), with Mikey a close contender (speedy mothafucka!). Which is cool since they’re my favorite characters.
