I was bored trying to finish Criticla on Hard Mode on Onimusha 3 so I turned to the shelf and decided to play an oldie but goodie…
Virtua Fighter 4 :Evolution
Damn… this really is the best fighting game in the past couple of years. I can’t stand Soul Calibur 2 anymore. Tekken 4 has too many annoying things in it. CvS2 is good, but 1 player sucks (and exactly how old is that game?).
Anyway… I’m going back into it and I realized when I last left I was starting to use one of those new guys (the one with the scars and the hoody) and left him. I’m gonna pick him back up and try to get some shit with. Still got my Josephine (Sarah) with all her shit. Man she looks sweet. All black leather, with whip, black sunglasses, short red hair, and devil wings
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying in his best Valkyrie voice:
Lately, I’ve been playing a lot of old PS1 RPGs. Ah, the good old times. I just finished up Threads of Fate, and I’m borrowing Brave Fencer Musashi from a friend. I’m going to start that up pretty soon.
I’ve had Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow for quite a while on XBox. I have given the single player and multiplayer modes quite a few chances, and although they were fun at times, it just never sparked my interest. So, I’m selling Pandora Tomorrow to get Mega Man: Anniversary Collection.
I’m still playing the Mega Man Anniversary Collection like mad. I’m on MM5 right now. All the robot masters are dead and I’m off to Proto Man’s castle. I love both the PS2 and GC versions of this game.
The day has arrived…the fateful battle between Meltdown and Sho’s army is here. The battle that will either make or break Meltdown’s, the ultimate proving ground, yada, yada, yada.
His first opponent was the Jet Hero. While it was unusually long battle, Meltdown took him down without too much trouble. His next opponent would be Blade Wing. Meltdown tried to take him head on, but it was a war of attrition as he was taking more damage than dishing out, so he hid behind a stump and shot at it whenever he had an opening. This strategy proved to be effective as Meltdown defeated his 2nd opponent. His final opponent would be Garuda, Sho’s personal borg of destruction. Stronger and faster than Blade Wing, Meltdown’s strategy of hide-and-shoot wasn’t as effective as before as he spent most of the battle running and shooting.
Eventually, both fighters were spent, with very little energy left. One shot was all it takes to win or lose. Garuda then launches a volley of shots followed by a fireball at the prone Meltdown, thinking he had the fight in the bag, but with the quickness of a cheetah, Meltdown dodged the bullets and the fireball, jumped into the air and hit Garuda with his Ninpo Dragon Explosion, bringing a dramatic end to the long battle. After a long, hard fight, Meltdown was on the road to taking his place among the legends.
I just can’t seem to get enough of these games. I’ve beaten Mega Man 4-5 on the PS2 version and I’ve finished 2-6 on the GC version. The remixed music is nice but I actually prefer some of the originals better. Dr. Wily’s remixed stage theme in MM1 is awesome but some of the remixes in MM5 I wasn’t all that fond of. Once I’m done beating all the classic MM games I think I spend more time with the two arcade games Power Battles and Power Fighters.
Was at a friend’s house playing some 3rd Strike, then watched Japanese 3S matches on his laptop, just to catch a certain scenario that happens often in lots of matches. Anyone in this thread love getting a kick out of hearing the crowd going "HEY! HEY! HEY! HEEYYYY!!! everytime Yun pulls of the Genei Jin combo?
I was gonna finish off Mega Man 5 on PS2 there, but he had no Dual Shock 2 controller to play it with.
Yeah man, I couldn’t say better myself. That’s really impressive for just having joined SRK for a couple of months.
I can’t beat Mega Man 5! I just hooked up my PS2 to finish off Protodarkman Castle and Wily , and then at the last minute, I realized I left my fuckin memory card at my friend’s house! Worse yet, he works alot so I don’t know when I could catch him next time.
Well, I guess I’m stuck with playing the Gamecube version. which I hardly ever touched yet due to that stueeuuuupid control setting. Gotta start somewhere in getting used to it.
I tried to beat MM8 last night, but my Cube locked up just after Duo rescued MM from Wily’s Super Dectructo Cannon. But I tried again this morning and finished it. I still say that this was a pretty weak MM game. Grenade Man was the only voice actor who didn’t just outright suck.
Now that I’ve finished that, I’ll probably go back to REmake and try to finish Real Survivor Mode. RSM is the only thing I still have to do in order to get everything unlocked. Who would you guys suggest using in RSM? Jill or Chris? I’m leaning towards Jill, since she has a larger inventory, but at the same time Chris is a faster runner and gets some other nice advantages. Also, if I use the Samurai Edge or the inf-ammo Rocket Launcher, will it still unlock Invisible Enemy Mode, or do I have to finish RSM without the special weapons?
Playing Mega Man 9 on MMAC now. Can someone please tell me how in the world Aqua Man can hurt me when his only weapon is H2O? Seriously, I was swimming in the stuff the whole blasted level! Mega Man has been in water practially all his life. Must be some chemicals in Aqua Man’s water or something. The Astro Crush is his weakness but I don’t have that weapon so I have to use my good old Mega Buster. Oh well. The little puke is practically dead as of this post now anyway.
I assume you’re talking about the second fight (since the first is easy). Anyway, I find that the Rush Armor or the Wild Coil is the best way to handle that fight. If you have to, remember that you have some E-tanks. Also remember that a fight with enhanced Guts Man follows immediately.
Playing Diagaea: Hour Of Darkness now. Much better than Final Fantasy Tactics in terms of gameplay and story(NOBODY understood what the fuck was going on in FFT), but still a damn hard game.
Playing some Megaman shit, writing up the boss guide. Damn this is gonna take a while…
I hate both stories
I guess my best advice is just LEVEL SHIT UP. I found the game uber easy since I’m a levelling-up fiend. I think the best places for experience are:
7-1 - I think this was the level with like 15 zombies conveniently lined up, and an exp bonus on the whole field.
14-1 - The place where you fight a certain character for the last time, and he’s with 3 vampires (also an exp bonus on the whole field)
Cave of Ordeals 3 - THE place for levelling. 9 enemies on a 3x3 area, and the whole field has another exp bonus.
Making my way through Kingdom Hearts and trying to complete all the missions in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (the only strategy rpg that I like actually).
^No need to worry…Prince of Persia is TIGHT, and the sequel(which looks even BETTER!!) is on the way very soon. The time-control powers are just too tight…you could fall from a high place, actually hit ground…but then reverse time real quick and you’re alright!
I have it for Gamecube, but I never finished the game…I didn’t even get that far. The Phantasy Star Online addiction is just that strong. I cannot escape it’s powerful grasp. Speaking of which…
PSO Update:-------------
*The Chojin rested in his mem.card spot…studying that rare creature Hildetorr he met again recently. He was now level 141, and soon to be level 142. If successful, this new idea involving Hildetorr would make Chojin practically invincible.
*D0OKiEMAN was now level 75. He was leveling up at an incredible rate, thanks to Canabin Ring tricks, and the Soul of a Blacksmith mission. He would soon ascend to an adequate level to wear Flame Garment so he could be Hot Shit. Further down the line was the Smoking Plate Armour Form. Dookie still wanted to fuck that sexy piece of ass, NOL. She didn’t seem down though…Dookie was beginning to think she was a carpet-muncher anyway. He decided to shift focus to that hot black woman that usually hangs out in the shops area. She was cool, and helped Dookie dupe some King’s Vulcans he found yesterday.
