Heh I think I’m gradually getting sick of Marvel really. But nothing’s in concrete yet. Been more of a GGXX, 3rd Strike, and SvC Chaos (yeah I like it. sticks middle finger up)
Yesterday Fighter X and I were talking about how funny those 3rd Strike matches at Evolution 2k3 were everytime a Japanese player uses Yun.
Anyway about this Megaman Collection, what are some stuff y’all are personally looking forward from it?
I’m looking forward to pretty much everything. I guess I’ll go ahead and say in advance that you guys will be hearing me ball about Guts Man & Ice Man’s stages from the original MM. I still don’t know which one was harder. I’m really looking forward to the Power Battle & Fighter game because I’ve never played them. I have heard some remixed music from the games though it it sounds awesome. BTW, Mega Man 3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mega Man 2.
Anyone that loves hearing original Mega Man music should check this site out: www.protoman.com
Well, It took me four and a half hours, as well as some abuse of easy-to-get extra lives near continue markers, but I did it. I beat Super-Hard Mode on Sonic Heroes last night. Sadly, there was no unlockable for doing it. But still, it was fun, so I’m not complaining.
I think that I’ll move on to Serious Sam: The Next Encounter. I’ve already beaten the first three or four levels. The last one I finished was the one where they start you out with a Hummer. I like the game, but I think that so far it’s had shorter levels and been easier than the two on PC.
LOL! Magnet Beam > Guts Man’s Stage and Ice Man’s Stage.
Heh I can do just as good on those 2 stages without the beams. I fired up VirtualNES and beat Megaman 4,5, and 6 in one sitting. I tell ya, if any of y’all lived in my hometown, I’d throw a Megaman party.
Oh yeah, I got question for the import savvy gamers. Out of luck yesterday at this thrift store in my area, I picked up a Japanese NES game it was from Capcom, You’re a sailor, and you throw barrels at pirates, I have no clue what it’s called.
Did some gaming in the 'Cube today. Played Some SSB Melee against Lv. 3 CPU players. It’s been a while since I’ve played but in time I’d like to work my way up to fighing Lv. 7 CPU opponents.
Ikaruga-I remember just how much I hate the bosses on levels 3-4. Died so many times on each one! SPOILER! Also the ending whrere your ship self destructs in order to save the universe - man that is some deep stuff. Like every time I see it I’m reminded of the ultimate sacrifice. The scenes that follow where the birds are flying and the remixed theme from the first stage plays… beautiful, touching stuff.
END SPOILER
F-Zero GX-Just did four GP races and some time attack races. I love the sense of speed this game delivers. Just awesome.
June 22 couldn’t come any slower. I’m already anxious for Mega Man AC!!! Listining to those classic MM tunes on protoman.com just isn’t enough.
I just beat Demon’s Crest for SNES. I was disappointed at how short this game was. And to mention it was sitting in my collection not being played much. The only Gargoyle forms I had was Fire, Ground, Claw, Air, and Aerial. I never got to check out the gargoyle form that goes in water.
I got Phalanx’s pattern down quick and just plugged him up with the Claw Gargoyle. And beat the game just like that.
I still have that feeling I didn’t do something right, cuz Demon’s Crest looks too good to be a short ass game…
Phantasy Star Online Adventures!! (*that about 3 other people here will read:p)
The training is complete…the journey…is done. BigNTasty(FOmar) has evolved, and has now achieved his Flame-Broiled form. Yes, yes…Big hit level 101 a few hours ago, and is now wearing the beautiful Flame Garment.
Such a level of awesomeness was just too much even for Ultimate Dark Falz to handle. With his new superpowers, Big cut a swath thru Ultimate Ruins, and awoke that Profound Darkness…that wretched deity that exists soley to destroy. Falz’s 2nd form was surprisingly…difficult, due to high speed and his darvants. Still, Big’s powerlevel and training were superior, and Dark Falz…was slain. This was not the end for our fat, greasy little wizard, oh no…this was only the start of a new journey…a new path…new, cheesy, delicious adventures. With the fiery aura still emanating from his form…Big had leveled up to 102, collected some loot, and returned to Pioneer 2.
Elsewhere on the ship…the powerful FOmar known only as Chojin prepared for another trip down to Ragol. He still had a long way to go before ascending to the required level to wear the legendary Aura Field. The Chojin was frustrated…for he already had acquired god-like powers that were far beyond anything a mere human had acheived before. His was a power that rivaled that of any Newman. However, the Aura Field remained an elusive goal.
Uggghh… Im playing R-Type Final right now and I’m trying to get all 101 ships, all forces, weapons, levels, and beat all of the ships in combat mode. Man this game is time consuming.
I just bought Rallisport Challenge 2 for XBox ( at least thats what I think it’s called ) and it’s awesome. The graphics are amazing, and your car actually gets damaged. It’s pretty neat to fuck up on a turn you went WAY too fast into, do 3 flips, skid across some snow and then have your windshield break and bumper fall off.
The whole custom soundtrack thing has put the game into another tier for me. Yeah, I’m late on the whole innovation of it all, but it’s just too great. EVERY game should make custom soundtracks manditory.
The day before I finished playing ( unlocking all the characters ) the Naruto game for Gamecube. It’s like Rival Schools and Super Smash Bros had a baby, an immensely fun little japanese speaking baby.
The funny thing is I took the game to my friends house ( both STK members ) on monday, they are both fighting game players and such and a lil dorky. It was fun to play, but it took them a lil while to learn, and the way they played ( running away and such, I guess they were trying 2d strategy or something) kinda made it unfun. Then yesterday I go to my other friends house, and they all learned within 2 matches. Even the one guys 7 year old little brother, and it was a blast. Everyone attacking and jumping and running. WHEEE !
I highly recommend it if you have friends to play it with, Rock Lee is the shit.
playing through Halo on legendary again which I have not done in like a year
On The Truth and Reconciliation, I had a gold Elite survive after a plasma grenade was stuck to him.
The game’s longer than it seems. There’s a bunch of hidden stages where the rest of the gargoyle forms are, so the real game’s far from over. Try to get the rest of the gargoyle forms, then beat Phalanx. Don’t turn the game off after the credits end. There’ll be a password that lets you start the game as the Ultimate Gargoyle, then the real fun begins…and I do mean fun.
demons crest was real cool… I should really go back to it and complete it sometime.
Just unlocked some more pics in XX #R… soon Ill have to just like… wait for the us version and gameshark out everything since I did it all in the jap version already…
Going to go back to disgaea cause damn that game rocks too much to get stuck at the power rangers level. but its too funny that I dont want to not be able to get back to it in a moments notice…
PS2 Naruto > GC Naruto… wooh! suck it, GC. I wanna see the new one, should probably be out before evo… with all the new characters… I heard the gc version of naruto was really broken. At least theres some more depth in the ps2 version.
Advance Wars is tight as fuck. Anybody ever play this shit?
PS2 naruto has its problems:
-mashing can cut damages from supers by half
-only a few characters can combo into super, I think it has to be cornered as well
-kawarimi counters can be done over and over, like 100+ times
Playing some good ol Shenmue on dc, along with MvC2. God, now that I got my Dreaded Fist stick ROMing is soooo much easier
Hell yeah, best GBA game out there!! I use Kanbei and Grit, you?
I was playing Hard Hitter Tennis on the PS2 earlier today. I really believe that this is one of the most fun tennis titles I’ve played since Mario Tennis on the N64…but then again, I haven’t played any tennis titles after that one. Gameplay is simple enough to get into and I found it to be balanced enough. The only problem I have is the world tour mode…your character sucks hard ass when you make him/her. You don’t even get to create a new character model either; you just take one of the game’s existing characters, give him/her a new name, a new uniform, and a new flag. My character is Hibiki, a quarter-Japanese, quarter-Brazilian, half-Korean female…and she sucks. I made the mistake of picking her against a friend of mine who used a far superior pre-made character…it got ugly.
Besides that game, I also really got into Melty Blood ReACT, the new “it” game in Fighting Game Discussion. I love the shit out of the engine and the characters, and I love the developer’s constant efforts in balancing the game by unbreaking some characters. I’m currently repping this game in my avatar. I usually play Miyako in the white uniform though. I also like the soundtrack, even if it is just psuedo-jazzy J-pop. The sprites are around MotW caliber, and the story is very interesting…too bad neither this, or the source digital novel Tsuki Hime, aren’t translated. I checked out the Tsuki Hime anime, but it’s ass.
Ronin: I tried out Advance Wars a couple years back. The game does beast pretty hard, but I got stuck in one of the missions and kinda gave up. I love all of the strategy involved though…there’s nothing better than flexing your mind in a game and winning. But I really got into a series of games called Super Robot Wars. They’re somewhat similar to Advance Wars aesthetically, but they instead have consistent units and are based on popular anime series. Previous entries in the series have had characters and robots from Gundam, Evangelion, Macross, Giant Robo, Mazinger, Getta Robo…the list goes on. The last game in the series I played was SRWD, the last GBA incarnation, which featured the Big-O among others.
Even though it’s a Japanese game, I found it fairly easy to get into without the language barrier getting in the way of the actual gameplay. It’s similar to strategy RPGs like FFT in that your units do gain experience points and can buy parts to make your robots better. But it shares a top-down perspective that Advance Wars has, and has in-cut battle sequences that are somewhat similar to Advance Wars’s. If you’re interested in Japanese anime robots, I can’t recommend checking out the SRW series highly enough.
Haven’t gotten that far. I’m on like mission 8 I think. I’ve only got Andy and Max thus far.
My fellow SRK forumites, crack has a new name and that name is “Super Puzzle Fighter II” for the GBA. Things started off inoccently enough. I thought I’d really try to get into the game and play a few rounds on the bus ride to work. I beat arcade mode on Easy for the first time with Ryu. I’m happy because I’ve finally begun to understand the gameplay mechanics. Before I get to work I working on arcade mode again but this time on Normal. I’m doing pretty good until I run into Hsien-Ko. She beats me twice but I’m wasn’t about to give up. The thrid time was the charm and I showed her my mad skillz (average mad skillz since I’m new to the game). Up yours, you little brat. I reach the final boss, which I thought was Dan but it turned out to be Akuma instead. He beats me. We go another round and I win! I beat Arcade mode on Normal, w00t! TROUBLE: I enter the Street Puzzle Mode which I find out is a the way to unlock lots of stuff in the game. I quickly find out that no matter who I fight that each CPU opponent has is ridiciously fast, often ending the match in a little over 1 minute. Now for a n00b like myself it may take time before I can hang with with the CPU fighters on Street Puzzle Mode, but within seconds they were sending tons of counter gems my way every single freaking time!! It’s like Samus trying to fight Mother Brain with just her dinky little beam=She aain’t got a frickin’ chance! If anyone has any tips on this game it would be much appreciated. Thank you, Capcom. Because of you I cannot open Advance Wars because I’m addicted to this game. YOU’VE RUINED MY LIFE!!!
