Just started on Onimusha 3, got it bundled with the Limited Edition strategy guide so i could get the “Art of Onimusha” book. Good stuff in there. The game’s pretty damned good, I’m enjoying the revised critical hit timing, last-minute guard + critical attack = parry into super 3s lives!
Yeah I was so glad to finally have found Sam. I saw the PS2 version, took a look at the back of the box and man, were those screens for that game blurry! Looked even more blurry than my vision without my glasses! The GC version looked much smoother.
Oh about Omega Boost… would that game be considered a shmup?
Bumpage. Well I am now at 53% completion in Vice City. I have over 50 hidden packages and I’m going on rampages whenever I find the icons to do so.
About Serious Sasm: NE. I was a bit worried because I hear this particular game wasn’t made by the original developers of the Sam games. However, I guess that really shouldn’t matter to me because it will be the fist Sam game I’ve ever played.
I wouldn’t judge a game’s graphics by the pics on a box.

Actually the PS2 version has sharper graphics, bit is missing a few of the special effects (like from the weapons) that the GC version has.
The GC has a more “anti-aliased” look.
I want Onimusha 3 as well. I was watching my friend play it, and I was totally amazed. The 3-D backgrounds look so much better than those flat, still BGs.
I’m still playing SS and Transformers. TF’s is actually pretty damn good, and it’s got some neat little bonuses that you collect in the form of Data Disks. For example, G1 commercials and Safety Vids, renders and sketches.
Go get it!
You’ve got a point but compared to the GC version they didn’t look so good. Maybe those particular shots those just not very good ones.
Since this is your first Sam game, you’re going to have to do what everyone else who has played the Sam series has to do at first - get used to the attack patterns of the enemies. Until you do, you are going to get your ass kicked, so don’t give up hope - we’ve all been through it. Don’t worry, it won’t take you long.
Also, congrats on your Vice City work! 7% more until completion, right?
Once I get Vice City finished, Sam may be my next game because I really want to play it. I’m up to 54% of Vice City. Only 6% more and I can get access to the last two missions. I’ve got the next two days off so I’m gonna go all out.
Smash Bros. Melee is going OK. I’ve got all characters and all maps except Battlefield and Final Destination. Two more Events (49 and 51) and I get FD. Then I’ve gotta work on All-Stars mode for Battlefield, a mode which I only unlocked yesterday and haven’t even tried yet.
Event #50, where you have to fight Master Hand and Crazy Hand, was one Hell of a pain in the ass. I finally got through by picking Yoshi and abusing his down+A.
LOL, yeah.
I’ll be getting Sam:Next (GC ver; Don’t own a PS2) on Wed or Thurs.
I’m currently playing La Pucelle Tactics. It’s so much like Disgaea, and yet it’s not. Some people will think it’s recycled, and indeed, a good amount of it is. Some of the sound effects, sprite movements, and stuff are the same. Hell, the store is the same name too (Rosenqueen). But, in my opinion, there are enough differences in La Pucelle to keep me playing, and keep me happy. It’s pretty good, and if you liked Disgaea, then do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
My feel SRK forumities, I have done it. I have beaten GTA: Vice City. I had to seel 50 “ice cream” treats to get the Ice Cream Assets, which is one reason why I couldn’t get the last two missions. I found 72 hidden packages and passed 32/35 Rampages. The final mission was easily one of the most difficult task I’ve ever had to perform in gaming. POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED/FINISHED VICE CITY
Capping Lance wasn’t hard. Sonny, on the other hand… that punk took like 30+ bullets before he went down!! And he had a never ending amount of goons!! It took me like 6 tries before I passed the final missions. I HAD to use the cheats! There was no way I could have passed that mission without it. Even with 150 Armor it was still tough. Man, what is it with Rockstar and these mega-hard games? Do they enjoy making gamers throw their controllers? That’s just what I was ready to do. That said, I must say that I had a blast with Vice City. The cars, missions, story, music, it all owned. Thank God I’m done with it.
Good job, Reggie! Next stop, San Andreas!
Played some CvS2 at the mall today, did pretty good with Bison, Kyo, Iori, Yamazaki and a few others.
Played a bit of Serious Sam Next, some Transformers PS2, and rested for tomorrow.
Yay! I have all characters and all maps. I only have 195 of the 290 trophies, but I’m not so concerned about that, as all I really wanted was to have everything available for playing vs. mode with friends. I’ll still try to get all trophies, but I won’t work for that as feverishly.
After having finished everything, I think that my favorite character is Donkey Kong, though I liked several others, inclduing Yoshi, Kirby, Luigi, Link, Bowser, the Ice Climbers, and even (big surprise to a Pokemon-hater such as myself) Mewtwo.
Anyway, now for Sam:Next, after my next paycheck.
I got that good ol’ Metroid feeling right now. Time for Super Metroid and Metroid Prime.
Thanks for the congrats, Fighter X.
Well I guess its back to Mario & Luigi. I hope I can finish it soon. Maye I’ll move on to another RPG. I never did finish Grandia II. Guess I could level up my party and get past that tough boss I was stuck on.
I’m looking for another game to play with M&L. I thought about getting out R-Types and playing R-Type I or playing RayCrissis. I’m in the mood for a good shmup.
U-N S-Q-U-A-D-R-O-N
Doesn’t get much better for shmups than that
Got all the Beanstar Pieces. Now I just have to find a way to get across the ocean to Bowletta. As for my SHMUP… R-Type it is. I just wonder how long it will take me to complete the game’s 7 stages.
FF: Tactics. There are few things more frustrating than bringing the last enemy down to 3 HP, when the 3-turn death timer runs out on your black mage and he dies bloody permanently, forcing you to start the battle over.
Ouch. Now that sucks:( Sorry for the lost. Hope you are successful in future battles.
Heh, I was thinking about going back through Super Metroid when I hooked my SNES up to test a couple of carts. But that will have to wait until I finish the games I al working on now.
Np! You earned it.
R-Types! Good selection. Raycrisis - I don’t care much for this title, but to each his own.
Speaking of which, I just found out that a Circuit City near me got a boatload of Omega Boosts for PS1! I might get one and send it to my little brother as a gift. I don’t know if it’s $10 or $20 yet, but I’ll find out today.
Hmmmm, that’s a good suggestion! Emu, though - the SNES version, even though it’s a good game in it’s own right, is a bit tame compared to the arcade version.
Ouch. That sounds like a controller-thrower right there (not to support gamerage), but hope you do better next time.
