Well I’ve gotten much better with Mega Man in MvC2 but certain characters in that game are a major pain to go against when the CPU controls them. And yes, I’m referring to the ones that Million mentioned. I’m still trying to find new teams to use. I can put Mega Man on almost any team and rock with him. But as much as I’ve played MvC2, I’m still learning.

Good to see another MM user for MvC2. I usually have MM, Guile, and Magneto on my team. Is it a good idea? I have no fucking clue but it is fun as hell

what should i dedicate myself to next after i destroy FFX my 2nd time?

Contra shattered soldier
Panzar Gragoon Orta
Shenmue 2
Timeplitters 2
Tales Of Symphonia
Kingdom Hearts
Prince Of Persia
Viewtiful Joe 2

all those games i havent even touched, dont know where to start ;-;

Prince of Persia is The Shit. I still haven’t beat that game, since there were others that stole my attention from it…particularly Phantasy Star Online. My PSO addiction could steal me away from nearly any game at any time…

Magneto and Guile with Mega? I prefer some assists that give some good coverage…like Doom. Mega with Doom keeps the whole screen under your control…there’s stuff flying everywhere, and it severely cuts off the cpu opponents options. It’s been months since I played that…I can’t even remember the whole roster…but my favorite assists were always Doom, Spiral, Sentinel, Iceman, and Captain Commando. heh, the cpu teams NEVER have a chance when you have some of those assists…Sentinel(drones) or Doom (rocks or “pink shit”)especially…they just can’t get around that at all.

it would be so great to have Zangeif’s Iron Body power for real…

time for some Unreal Championship 2 greatness…I was on a roll the other day with Arclite…against cpu opponents of course, heh. I could not be stopped…heh, and that gives me an idea for my future gamertag…(yeah, I’m actually putting quite a bit of thought into what my gtag will be. “Million” is only one possibility.)

Actually regarding the slowdown, just how bad is it? I’m still considering on getting Dracula X for my Japanese Saturn, along with some other stuff.

Playing FFX for the first time right now. My new roommate has a PS2 so I figured I’d give it a try.

It’s not the greatest, but I was still pleasantly surprised. I mean the story is kinda bleh, the writing is sub-par and the acting would make Roger Corman cringe, but it’s still oddly amusing. I dig the new leveling system and the fully controllable/customizable “Aeons”(why the fuck does square not settle on one fucking name). One thing I do wish they’d adopt is a more complex equipment system. Instead of making it more elaborate they keep simplifying it from game to game. They could learn from games like Diablo2. Adding more possible inventory slots and item affixes would allow you to play through the game in so many more ways. The combat, albeit pretty, is still shallow; I REALLY REALLY wish they’d make advances in this department considering so much of the game happens here.

But anyway, I’m having fun even if it seems like I’m being overly negative.

MvC2 is just not my game. I would just get owned, OWNED, by the better players and even the not so great players. It’s just a team that I somehow picked and just stuck with.

Plan to pick up MGS3, Xenosaga: Epsiode 2, Xenogears, and Skies of Arcadia sometime this week. Summer is here and I really wanna play these games.

And Dios, go with Shenume 2. Great, great game

Panzar Dragoon Orta
This game is awesome and has a lot of replay value if you want to unlock all the stuff and get better scores on levels. The original panzar dragoon is added also.

Shenmue is only good if you like Shenmue-ish games.

Out of the ones you listed, I’d say Tales of Symphonia. Best RPG of 2004.

Though I play roughly half the cast (including MegaMan, of course), my favorite team will always be Felicia, Tron Bonne, and Sentinel. Lots of people have made fun of me for no anti-air, but I can make it work anyway. And like you said, it’s fun to me. So anyway, more power to you, man! Play who you like.

EDIT: And usually, I manage to at least impress my opponents. Even when I lose, it’s never a massacre like they expect.

Shenmue 2 -1
Panzar - 1
PoP - 1
ToS - 1

first one to 3 is teh win !!! only cuz im not quite done completeling my ultimate ffx file just yet. <3!

ALSO, i forgot to ad Viewtiful joe 2 to that list, havent played it yet.

Put a negative 1 on VJ2 for me, plz. It doesn’t live up to the first, and IMO you should save it for when you have little else to do.

X-Men Legends is too dope, too bad Sentinels go down faster than a prostitute, with Storm and Cyke on your team that is. BloodRayne is pretty fun also.

Shenmue 2 & Kingdom hearts are both excellent. VJ2 is a step down in quality from VJ1.

I’ve been playing Metal Gear Acid. It’s had me by the balls with it’s addictiveness.

Brothers In Arms Road To Hill 30-XBX…makes the console Medal of Honor and Call Of Duty games seem like child’s play. Gameplay’s like Full Spectrum Warrior, but you actually control a character this time. Wicked enviroments, cool squad tactics, and pretty hard edged storyline(compared to other WWII games). I’m not usually into WWII shooters, but Bros. In Arms is an exceptionally well done game.

Kingdom Under Fire-XBX: This game is a sleeper, but actually wicked fun. Take the hack and slash shit from the Dynasty Warriors series and put in a whole lotta military strategy. You end controlling armies of 1000 plus warriors…complete with archers and catapults. You move around the battlefields, strategically placing your soldiers and setting up for attacks…when the combat begins it turns into a melee free for all, with hundreds of onscreen characters duking it out Braveheart style. Not the freshest visuals, and the dialogue can be harmful if listened to, but the gameplay is hella fun.

I just played a nice and intense deathmatch on UC2—of course, 7 bots and me, as BROCK. (*heh, really…names just don’t get more macho and awesome than that) I actually won the 2nd matchup…though I’m doing worse as BROCK than certain other characters I’ve picked…that sucks, since I like the character.

*hey…the charged nanoblack shot from a Necris either doesn’t affect another Necris, or it helps them…I forgot…so…wouldn’t it actually be to my benefit that someone reflects my charged shot back at me? The announcer still says “WASTED!” though when that particular situation happens.

Flak Cannon and Sniper(*added bonus of being more difficult to reflect) might be my combo from now on…it’s just delicious.

From what I observed, there really isn’t much. If I can recall, the only time slowdown occurs is when you kill larger enemies.

All the other points I mentioned earlier overshadow the slowdown. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

Doom with Mega Man? I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that. I’ll still keep play VF4: Evo but I’ll get in some practice with MvC2 now that Million brought that pair to my attention. I’ve used Doom a few times but never really stuck with him. And what is with all the Ken users in ANY SF or Vs. game? I mean, Ken is great and all but man, EVERYONE and his leg-humming dog picks him now. And it seems like it doesn’t take any skill at all to be good with him. And I HATE Thanos Blackheart with a passion. I know MvC2 wasn’t made for ballance but man, these guys are like the ultimate in cheese moves.

And Prince of Persia is a great game. Amazing visuals and sweet gameplay abound in that sucker. I haven’t played Viewtiful Joe 2 yet but I really enjoyed the first (hair pulling, controller throwing, rage inducing difficulty aside). Million, you’re the biggest VJ fan at SRK. I’m surprised you haven’t said more about it.

EX-Sucker Punch, I invy you with that collection but thanks for the new wallpappers  Oh and I also own Castlevania Chronicles. I beat that game but man was it tough.

Thanos is super bottom tier, dude. Everything he has can be jump-back blocked and counter-assisted. And Ken is only ho-hum in that game, except for his Anti-Air, which is one of the better AA assists (though not BH/CapCom/Jin tier). Another good pairing for MM is Sentinel with Ground assist. Arguably better than Doom rocks, even, since it can be used to ghetto trap with Rockball and FPs. IIRC, the pattern is drop ball and call Sent, jump back FP, standing FP, short kick the ball, repeat. Though Doom is good too, he provides better chip and meter build. You just have to be a tiny bit more careful with him, both due to being harder to cover and having lower defense.

I’m hoping the new VJ games will make up for some of the disappointment that VJ2 was. heh, the constant bashing makes it sound like the game sucks, but it really doesn’t, imo…it’s just that it’s a letdown after the first one…since the first one happens to be one of the greatest games of all time, imo.

Unreal Championship 2 —I finally did a coup de gras! Thanks to Gamefaqs, I found a way around my problem with following random button prompts in the middle of such fast paced action…they now have SECRET coup de gras posted! Unlike the normal ones, these are the same button inputs everytime, which makes it easier on me…this is a lot easier than trying to follow the prompt on the screen(it’s better for me to just memorize an input command, rather than follow random prompts)…I started off easy with BROCK’s secret cdg. Of course the problem with CDGs in this game is obvious to anyone----I’d say most of the time, it just isn’t a practical option. Yeah the secret cdgs give an adrenaline boost on top of being a guaranteed kill, but it leaves you wide open in a fast-paced FPS, which is a definite no-no. Fortunately I think your character may be invincible while the killing animation is going on.

I completed more tournament action today with various characters. I still haven’t unlocked Malcom and Gorge though.

heh, it’s funny to hear the characters curse…that country/slight redneck sounding “HOLEEE SHEIT!” is great…and I think I heard Malcom call someone a bitch when they took our flag today. And of course, there’s the classic “FUCK YOUR TOURNAMENT.” at the end of the story mode.

edit—and I never imagined I’d enjoy a CTF mode…until this game. Perhaps it’s the superior design of the maps, but I actually enjoy this mode now…there’s something awesome about the different elements of strategy going on…for example, I like going on defense, and holding off all opposition to the base, while 1 or more teammates go to get the other team’s flag.
…or, it’s funny to hide out in the other base, and as soon as one of my guys drops the opponent team’s flag and they recover it…I run up and snatch the flag out of their base again. And defense is just perfect for trash talk…your enemies are coming to you, and you lay there waiting…like a perfectly poised predator…and you see them…"ah, they approach…like lambs to the slaughter…"

but yah…the maps are just brilliant. I’d love to have my dream house/palace modelled after “Horizon”.
