I just played Madden. I was in the lead. Then I blow a coverage for a 99 yard pass reception because Ahmed Plummer (rated 90) goes for a pic and MISSES. (Like he would really do that with that much time left…)
Okay, I’m down. So I throw it and Rattay (auto-leading sucks ass because I can’t lead the reciever really anymore) throws it to the inside where a linebacker is patrolling that zone and he intercepts it.
Still have a chance though, down by 4 with 2 minutes left with all my time outs.
So after holding them to -10 yards rushing the whole game, they decide “fuck this foo” so they hand the ball of and Duce, who hasn’t broken anything all day, breaks like 6 tackles into the end zone. However, it gets called back for holding so I’m still in it. Then the back up is in and HE RUNS IT IN FOR A TD AFTER BREAKING LIKE 3 tackles. WTF??
We didn’t give up shit the whole game and now we happen to give up 6 to a BACK UP HB WHO HAPPENS TO BREAK 3 TACKLES?
I’m happy to report that the NES Classic Series Castlevania for the GBA is a perfect port of the NES game. The sound effects, the music, the graphics, the slowdown; everything is 100% NES old-school goodness. The addition of an auto save after you beat a level is a big help. I’ve already died more than 20 times since I started playing. I actually had to relearn some of the tricks I had forgotten. Like killing those blasted Medusa Heads. Medusa Heads=Worst enemy in a game… EVER!! For the first time, I finally got past those twin freaks at the end of stage 3. I’ve never done it before but I did it!! W00t!! It took me a few tries, and on one of those tries, I had the little punks down to 1 thing of health!!! I really hate those “I SHOULDA KILLED HIM THERE!!!” attemps. For some reason, they just irk me to the nth degree because you know you should beat the boss there but you didn’t. Stage 4 was actually pretty easy… right up until I met Frankienstine. That is one tough mother. Where was that dumb stop watch when I needed it? What the heck was I gonna do with that sucky knife, pick his teeth?
So I’m playing Tenchu:Fatal Shadows/Kurensai and whatnot. So I get spotted on this ledge where I was trying to choke a bitch out. Some guy standing about 5 feet away from this woman starts to attack me and I start handlin my shit. Then the chick I neglected(cause I was alerted) comes up and slits my throat.
I was surprised. I also thought that shit was cool though.
Made it to the big storyline twist in Stranger’s Wrath. I have to admit, I didn’t see it coming. And I’m not so fond of the change in gameplay focus afterwards. There’s little incentive to try to be sneaky and take enemies alive now. It’s become “break out the best weaponry, and go to town”. Plus, The Stranger’s new outfit sucks. He doesn’t look like a badass anymore.
PSO --The saga continues! PSO Fo’EVA, muthafuckas! Olympic torch flamin’, it burns so sweet…
FINALLY my friend, his wife and I switched back over to GC Pso, cuz our characters on Xbox are still fresh, and it’s just no fun taking constant beatdowns from the monsters, and not making ANY money.(*my character was on a new low with only 81 Meseta in the bank. Pitiful. I couldn’t even buy the absolutely-necessary monofluids, much less difluids.)
The Bride’s character is up to 90-something now, and he and I were a bit over 100(I was 121)…and we slaughtered everything in (ultimate)Episode 2 in the Jungle, Seaside, and Mountain areas…even Mericarol was a joke, and we took it down in probably much less than a minute. Gibbles was actually the bigger problem…The Bride got killed, and even my godly level 121 DOOKIEMAN was having trouble…my friend was lagging behind, and he finally showed up, and eventually…Gibbles was slain. Gibbles = PSO’s evil Incredible Hulk. :wow: But even he was no match for the DOOKIEMAN and his superfriends.
Since then I’ve been playing more and more just today…The Smoking Plate armour shall soon be wearable…as the DOOKIEMAN is now level125!
and it’s always nice to see a level 30 tech disk…I found Zalure 30 yesterday…so of course I immediately went back to Pioneer and duped the hell out of it. I now have about 7 of them.
*THIS JUST IN: Sad news…apparently certain malicious types in the online community for pso can now actually corrupt you if they want. There’s at least 2 threads on it over at the gfaqs pso gc board. Well, this should probably finally kill PSO’s online community off permanently. Good thing I was done with my online fun about a year ago. I’ll continue having fun offline-only until PSU comes out.
I just learned the hard way that there is no auto save in Castlevania for the GBA. You have to press the L & R buttons to bring up a save menu. At least I have no toruble beating the boss of level 3. Now if I could just get past Frankie…
how the hell do you do the diff punches? 1 button does like a hook or some shit and the other one does a headbutt. i cant figure out how to use the stick to punch and shit ahah.
Also jumped on the DMC 3 bandwagon…man, the intro of that game alone kicks the WHOLE game of DMC 2 out of the water. LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!
At a friend’s recommendation, I just picked up I-Ninja. Rather entertaining platformer. Not great, but still pretty fun. It’s kinda like a cross between Ninja Gaiden and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Yep, some lame ass fanservice (KOS-MOS can’t wear a %*#&@! swimsuit…) is all you get. Boo. And I’m with you on Shion, she’s damn cool now that they ditched the stereotype “nerd girl” design. I just can’t wait to see what they do…
SPOILERS:
With her storyline invloving her crazy ass mom, chaos and KOS-MOS.
END SPOILER
And one more comment on Shion: Get rid of that goddamn M.W.S and pick up a blade, you poser! “Not meant for this line of work” my ass.
Mark my works, GT 4 is SO much more fun and instinctive with a steering wheel. I picked up a Pelican Cobra TT wheel and pedals from Best Buy for $10 (using $10 in reward-zone coupons). The Logitech wheel is nice, but I don’t have $150 for something like that rightt now, so this one does the job.
Tekken 5, I’m working on my Nina and Feng Woo skills.
Currently leveling up in Y’s: Ark of Napishtim. Freakin’ first boss is hard as hell. Those flame throwers can kill you with 4 hits if you stand too close!
I’m not trying to bother with the Normal mode just in case I get a shitty ending if I beat it sometime.
BTW Fighter X, it’s still Famicom. I changed my name to something funnier.
so I-ninja is good? I was thinking about picking that one up too.
and how is Y’s Ark of Nepishtim? Is that something that can played by people who are new to Y’s?? or do you have to start at the beginning?
update:
I have restarted Xenosaga. i have the book, and realized I missed a lot of good shit, so I restarted it this weekend. I am now back on second Miltia finishing the GS tasks before I head ovre to Shion’s house. Anyway, Im flying through the game right now because I can skip all the scenes and I know where Im going. I have to say the game is ALOT more fun without all the scenes LOL. I wish I could skip all of them, but I am too interested in the story to skip scenes that i havent seen. I should be back to where I was on disc 2 in a couple of days. and my characters will be in better shape too.
Katamari: I am at the 9th star, and I have also made the North Star. Been rolling up buildings other large objects. Im trying to make the exact 10M start but its tough! Ive gotten 7M and 11M… but no 10 yet. I will keep trying. Anyone know how precise the king wants you to be about hitting 10M? I mean is it ok as long as it’s at least 10 but not over 10??
