The "Currently Playing" Game Thread-Discuss Your Games, Vent, Give Props, etc

Even though I’m a Roy fan (and think he should be higher on the list), where’d you get this from? Most people say he’s mid, unless I’m totally missing something…

I am no longer named “Famicom”. I thought I’d come up with a catchier user name.

Anyway, I’m currently leveling up in “Y’s: The Ark of Napishtim”.

Still feels old school, even though it’s not a bumper car fest like the old Y’s games.

I was getting ready to comment on the tiers, but you did that nicely. Just some stuff to add…

-Theoretically (if you play completely precise), Fox is widely considered the best. But no human being will ever play perfectly, so you can’t really say as such. Fox is an engine of perfection, you have to be a frickin’ machine to master him (which a lot of people are, it’s crazy). But they’ll never be “perfect”, so Sheik > Fox.

-That being said, even though Sheik is technically the best (and probably always will be) she can be totally OWNED by a Fox.

-That being said, Fox gets owned by Marth if he stops his ground game. Marth wallops Fox in the air.

-That being said, Peach can annhilate Marth if she uses turnips right.

-That being said, any of these matches can go either way in high level (though Marth usually dominates cause Ken is the one playing him).

Therefore, you can’t take tiering totally with a grain of salt. Sure, it’s pretty concrete, but a ranking project is usually a much better judge of what’s what. But since it’s said that Marth is badass (and Marth’s my main) I’m not complaining too much.

katamari damacy

strange: I did like Musashi however. But for some reason I just didnt like Threads of Fate.

anyway, I also just started Katamari Damashii today. It does indeed rock. But then I knew that already. I have completed the first 3 stars as well as Cancer. Can someone tell me what stardust is for??

and Xenosaga 2 update: I have now past the first boss fight in the Momo encephalon dive. And Im coming up on the Albedo fight. (any tips on the Albedo fight?) So im in the winter version of the dive. So far so good. The first boss fight took me a few tries until I figured out how to hit zones and keep the combos moving. But I think i got it down now.

If I remember correctly, stardust is just some extra stuff to add to your star. To make it look prettier, I suppose. It’s just the result of all the stuff you rolled up that couldn’t quite become a star.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I do when I play, too. I read about high-level stuff sometimes, just to see what better players are up to. But as my roommates are my only comp, there’s really no drive to become better. We only play once every few months, and just pick whomever we like. I’ve never even bothered to learn wavedashing, and can’t even do most of the combos. I have no reason to learn them.

I like Dr. Mario, at least because you can yell out something like “PERSCRIPTION FOR WHOOP ASS!”, or put him in the black labcoat and call that MatrixMario, and fight with the Burly Brawl theme in the background.(*it’s awesome when you do that with the wireframes in Multiman melee…)

*…I’ve played this game exactly ONCE against other people. One time. 1.

Meanwhile over in PSO-land!!!
The foul demon…the DOOKIEMAN…has is right at level 120.

Elsewhere, the android hunter Perfect A.I. decided to get back into action, and he killed a few beasts in the Ultimate forest. The plan for later on was to open up the Soul of a Blacksmith quest, to hopefully quicken the pace of his unbearably slow leveling. His Dreamcast mag seemed to agree that this was an excellent idea. Along with a Tsumikiri J-Sword, a Red Handgun+50, perfect, maxed accuracy at only level 71, and other good rares…Perfect A.I. had no concerns about being a “legit” droid in the world of Phantasy Star.

If they must keep Dr. M in the game, at least make him significantly different from regular Mario. When there were glaring omissions like Wario, King Dedede, and Diddy Kong, clone characters like Dr. M, Young Link, and Pichu shouldn’t be there.

You’re points make me laugh, though. The “perscription” line is great!

Yes! Ha!

Exactly as I’m checking this thread to see what the new posts are, I finally get my first Mariche in SaGa Frontier. I doubt anyone’s estatic, since it would seem that only like five people in this thread have played the game, but it’s basically the best monster that any monster can turn into. Now I only have to that two more times…damned Dullahans.

Anyway, at this very moment, I’m obviously playing SaFr; I’m still in Wakatu. Besides the aforementioned, I’ve learned a few new skills, but there’s nothing much comparative to the above:
[]Liza mastered Fighting Skills (except for Counters, but they all kind of suck besides Sway Back).
[
]Thunder got Heatwave before turning into a Mariche.

Blue randomly learned LastShot from Punch. (Gah. Damnit. Why can’t Rouge be this good?!)
Yeah, nothing much considering I’ve playing Kingdom Hearts all day.

In KH, I have like 14 saves, so I simultaneously beat up on Cloud in that initial bout (I’ve actually finally lost to him by messing around, trying to parry/Guard/deflect ever attack, and then usually getting killed by Braver; I can’t stop laughing when he gets smashed by Cerberus though) and I beat the Time Trial for Hades Cup in my first attempt; the Rock Titan is absurdly easy, especially considering that I had barely more than a minute left; once I knocked it on its ass like you’re suppose to (after casting Aeroga of course), it stayed down till it died…which is a first as well. I wished the Phil Cup was that easy, considering it took like twenty tries to beat in three minutes…which I only did because I had levelled up so much from the previous nineteens.

So now I have Save the King in ones of the saves, and I’m considering playing Expert mode.

I still need to play my classmate’s game though, so I can return it to him…

I enjoyed the first Saga Frontier. It had good music and I liked the idea of 7 different quests. And the combo attacks rocked. And Blue and Alakaiser=pwnage!! :wow:

I need to brace myself. I’m about to go old-school NES-GBA style with Castlevania. Man, I loved this game but it was so freaking hard. I could never get past those blasted twins at the end of level 3. At least I can save in this version.

I may be too busy playing Spidey 2 to get around to GGX2. The web-slinging. Ohhhhh the web-swinging.

Find the 4 hit zone (I believe it’s CCBB), stock till max, have ur break level at 3. break him with Chaos to knock him down, boost into Ziggy. His shots should do 600-800 each.

I finished the game in 20 hrs…and all I have to say is meh

Currently playing Resident Evil 0, and hating it. I heard that it was bad, but thought that maybe fans were just being harsh. Unfortunately, it’s all true. This game has plot holes that are so large that you could fly a Boeing 747 through them. And don’t even get me started on the inconsistencies between this story and the others. Blatant contradictions with original RE and with C:V abound to no end. And I’m still on disc 1.

On the gameplay front, it looks nice. In fact, I actual think that it looks better than 4, probably because the backgrounds are pre-rendered so they can devote more polygons and texturing to the character models. I also like the aspect that the team system adds. Co-operating to solve puzzles, extra firepower from two people at once, etc. The only problem is, Rebecca sucks. She can’t use the heavier weapons, her handgun is weaker, and her health is so low that a zombie can kill her in three bites. Billy’s pretty cool, though. I also really hate this inventory system. Instead of a stash, you just drop shit that you don’t want on the floor. Then you have to come back to that room to pick it up. To make it worse, the number of things that you can drop on a single floor is limited, the bigger guns take up more slots than usual, and the inventories are the smallest ones ever. This also means that items don’t transfer from safe room to safe room.

All in all, the team system is the only redeeming feature. I’m only even going to have the patience to finish this because I’m such a fan of the rest of the series.

Well, opening up the PS2 to fix it didn’t help do anything but allow me to clean out the dust (thanks to the fact that the launch model I have has a lens adjustment gear that resets itself). I’ll just have to trade it and an old PSX for a PStwo when I pick up Devil May Cry 3, as well as Shadow Hearts: Covenant and KoF '02/'03.

you should currently play this game: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8174450930&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

free shipping if the winner is from srk

Damnit, Now that you’re finally selling it it’s on EBAY. I asked you if I could get that from you months ago

oops :wasted:

Guess you don’t check your PMs often eh?

Continuing with RE0. Now that I’ve really logged some time on this, I’ve gotten used to most of the new stuff and can live with it. The inventory thing is irritating, but workable. Rebecca may suck in combat, but at least I still have Billy.

On the actual gameplay/layout aspect, the game is decent. Those new leech things are pretty neat. There have been some pretty cool bosses, too. All in all, not as bad as I was first saying, but still probably my least favorite of the core series (i.e. Not counting Gaiden, Survivor, or Dead Aim).

The story still blows, though. Way too many contradictions with the rest of the series. And that really makes me sad, since story is one of the things that I love about RE.

Hello all,
Just got RE4 last Friday, loving it but damn it takes a while to get used to the controls. It is my first actual purchased RE game so I was a bit pissed of at them but they have grown on me and I am so loving it.

Sadly I have only gotten like the second chapter or something, damn education and future planning.
