It may be uncomfortable for some, but we need to grow up and be adults if cameras are on. Things are different if it’s just a few dudes hanging out with their friends, but this publicly displayed inappropriate behavior really makes us look bad as a whole. As one who is trying to grow the local community in my area, I know the value of image.
I respect what she did, douchebags need to be called out when they won’t stop douchebaggin’. Otherwise we’re the airline industry condoning male pilots slapping the asses of stewardesses (who were required to be unmarried) in the 1950s. It’s backward ass behavior and needs to be corrected.
Cus again Miranda didn’t take it upon herself to have Aris stop beforehand. Instead she waited till what Day5 to do this but then it was too late and it got to her so bad she bounced, fucking over kor in the process. That’s part of reality tv tho. Miranda could have gone to aris, she could have gone to capcom and told them to tell him to stop, miranda could have walked off the show like many do in reality shows. Her manner of handling this was poor so I do put some blame on her for not doing anything about it until a couple days later. If you’re feeling harassed, do something about it day 1 imo.
Yes, which seems a rather wild contradiction until you consider that Sherry spent the majority of her day with her team. She can’t really speak authoritatively about what happened between Aris and Superyan.
Everything she did she could have done off camara or spoke to someone in private about. Honestly this is something we as viewers should have known nothing about until after the fact if it was truly handled correctly. I find it hard to believe that capcom would have made her stay on the show if she asked to remove herself for the said reason. I also find it hard to believe that capcom wouldn’t get at aris hard for his action if so.
instead it was handled wrong by all parties or someone is lying.
I don’t believe that at all, no way A BUSINESS is going to risk a law suite for a internet reality show, maybe she got at aris. But its no way she keep capcom in the loop about things or they would put a stop to it quick.
except everyone knows aris is straight and with mike it’s a joke, he’s not actually going to try to sexually do anything to him - where as with Miranda something way worse could have happened. not to mention stream monsters really took to enjoying Aris heckling Miranda. I know Aris is supposedly a good guy, but come on. Even the chance it could happen makes it worse, way worse than anything he could do to mike.
Yes it is that easy, there was literally nothing stopping her from going to capcom and saying stop Aris. Literally nothing, Not one single fucking person, including Aris would look down on her for that or at the very least harass her about it.
One thing to bear in mind which is also why i blame SuperYan for handling this shit hella wrong is that she forfeited her spot. She threw away all her challenges, fucked over Kor hard who seemed to actually be trying to learn the game unlike her. She did all that AND is still gonna be on the show. She didn’t do that to get away from Aris. Dam right I’m gonna say SuperYan handled this poorly.
If it’s forced to be handled off camera, it’s not only blaming the victim, it’s shaming them as well. She was there as a competitor, and in the year 2012 we should be able to handle this a little better than “SHE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER BEING A WOMAN LOLOLOL”
It’s idiotic. Grow up and treat people with a basic level of respect. This kind of behavior needs to be called out when it happens.
I apologise. I meant that she spoke to Aris about it personally, not Capcom.
I’d be surprised, however, if no-one from Capcom was aware of the stream’s content and regardless, it’s not fair to shift the blame to the victim.
Are you serious? being candid is shaming the “victim” wow… just wow. If this was handled correctly Aris would have realized that he’s actually creeping the chick out and the dirty laundry would stay in the closest. And since she clearly wanted to stay on the show (sarcasm) she could have hung around and competed on the final day.
Everyone should treat everyone with basic respect, but we know thats never how its been and its not how it is now.
How is forfeiting her spot wrong? She knew she couldn’t beat Dr. SubZero, hell everyone did. Also, what’s your proof that she was throwing matches? She picked a character she had been practicing in the scramble challenge and then just didn’t do well. It’s not like she just stood there and did nothing in each round.
Miranda likely thought that there was no chance that she and KOR would finish first, so she just made sure they finished last. That way, she would be eliminated as opposed to someone else who actually wants to be there. She should have consulted KOR first though. He seemed thrown off and annoyed. I thought that was pretty messed up. Gotta let your teammates know.
EDIT: @ truckthunders, She definitely threw some of those matches. When she picked Ken, she kept walking forward without attacking and got hit on purpose.
I think this reflects worse on Capcom than the FGC. Who made Aris the coach? Who sat and watched him do this for days? Who was there when the cameras were off? FGC knew what Aris was about before all this. He’s not a bad dude, but he is the exact opposite of politically correct. Nobody else on the show is even close to being as off the cuff as him. At the very least, Capcom could’ve just told him that he wasn’t allowed to be on the stream mic ALL DAY.
He wasn’t just going in on her, he was damn near crucifying her in the only view the public had for hours at a time. She was a relatively good sport about it, but its obviously embarrassing to be made fun of in a COMPLETELY public setting for days. Team Miranda’s thighs is going to be around as long as she is, and Capcom let Aris blow her up even harder. Sherry got to be an actual player, but Miranda is just going to be the girl who got harassed off the show. Capcom had way too many opportunities to turn this issue into something at least a tiny bit positive, but let it ride to the end.
