The Cross Assault thread (link to stream in 1st post)

Anyone know why Dr Sub-Zero didn’t play Ogre? During training that was the main character I saw him use and he looked pretty legit, even Valle said his Ogre looked good.

Only thing I can think of is he was trying to throw fireballs since Tekken players most likely don’t know how to deal with fireball pressure yet, saving his “main” team for more crucial times. That’s just my guess though.

Cross Assault Day 1:

Ok, after re watching the fights I have a few things I would like to point out.

Bronson was sand bagging like all hell, that guy is known for his tekken skills but look up his exploits in other fighters and that dude is a natural beast.

The tekken players did well even though they looked free, steve in particular looked like with some coaching ( idk if he’ll get it ) he could be good, he just seemed to have one gameplan that he refused to deviate from and lost because of it.

That red headed chick actually showed alot of potential, she seemed to have a good grasp of game mechanics and didnt feel the need to do anything stupid.

We didnt even see 200 yen play yet, I want to see that boy play soon.

I really don’t understand why Team Tekken would use SF characters. Why the hell would you use SF characters vs Team SF? I know it’s day one and all, but even if the Tekken characters are harder to learn, they still are a better choice than SF considering who the competition is. No offense to them, but they really seem to not care about the competition at all. If you watched both streams, Team Tekken just didn’t seem as focused on leveling up as Team SF did. Not to mention Valle is actually coaching his team…

And about Bronson vs Sherry. He was either playing it very smart and sand bagging, or he really is a fraud. That’s all there is to it. The smartest play and what anyone that is playing the “reality show” game would have done is let her win. Not saying Sherry didn’t win it outright, that match was just so weird.

Given the importance of the challenges I can’t imagine him sandbagging. If he was he potentially cost his team a challenge.

It is SO much more fun to toss out the sandbagging angle and just assume Bronson Tran got blown the fuck up. Just sayin.

p.s. dem thighs.

p.p.s. Bronson Tran don’t give a FUCK bout your team.

they imo should of put josh or renic against bronson BEFORE he actually learns more and becomes a threat

Kor didnt even know jump ins were overheads , come on now

I wonder if Capcom is going to mix it up and do like a surprise 2 on 2 pairs match challenge or something like that. I’m sure it wont be the same “training - 5 v 5 challenge - eliminaiton” every day.

So here’s the summary of Day 1-

The word fraud gets thrown around way too much, especially by eat shit retarded stream monsters and the 99% of SRK who have no right to use it, if the 1% of people on SRK who play at a super high level competitively want to talk shit then let them.
I cringe every time I see mike ross is a fraud post on here, do you really think he wouldnt body you all day every day for free?

yeah be afraid of losing a whopping 12% of your health to an ex move :?

I’d be concerned if you could cross tag during its startup and get a combo off of it, but iirc you have to actually hit with something to tag cancel.

Wasn’t it Mike Ross who first started the whole Fraud thing by calling other players Frauds?

Wow, just finished watching the day 1 elimination match…
All I have to say is. Didn’t they just had like a whole day of training? And also, there is mechanic in the game called “block” use it?

Watch the challenge matches. Better gameplay overall (except maybe Sub-Zero vs SuperYan but I kind of think Sub was sandbagging since he hadn’t been training Ryu/Sagat yet he picked them for the match.). Team SF specifically chose to play Kor because they knew he’d be the weakest player on their team and they want that psychological edge. Kor has never played any SF games and the only 2D fighters he has any experience in is casual marvel 3. Hence he doesn’t understand things like footsies and how to deal with grapplers since neither of those are a forefront in the marvel gameplay style or tekken gameplay.

Really guys? Still with that, “Bronson was sandbagging. He’s the best troll ever!” shit? The guy lost. That’s it…deal with it. Do I think he was sandbagging? Yeah, he was for the first match or so. But he either decided to kick it up a notch too late, or Sherry was better than him. You guys act like Sherry is a “fraud,” but she has beaten top players before.

Losing is a big deal this early in the game. Branson wouldn’t sandbag for a loss; he’s not stupid. I do expect him to level up very quickly from here on out though. A loss is a good reason to get in gear.

I saw it like this, Bronson looked like he had crispy links and good footies but just choked it up, either that or he was sandbagging. Hes known for choking it up whenever he plays. Tasty Steve is legit as fuck, only lost to nerd josh since he couldnt deal with dive kicks. Day 2 he’ll find a way to deal with it and he’ll start bodying peepo. Sherry throughout training was learning from Nerd Josh and even bit his team, she looked pretty solid but I believe Nerd Josh or Runic is the best so far on team SF.

Miranda is nice but if she doesnt get out of that sf4 mode of playing quick shes not gonna last long, as for Aries… why the fuck is he even there, hes useless.

I hope all of you realize that Bronson is now going to be a fucking problem since no one was smart enuff to eliminate him early.

They do carry over both ways but not when you have 0 experience.
You need to earn a minimal level of understanding in EVERYTHING, only then you can start seeing the similarities and integrating concepts.

Good. mike ross is a fraud.

Honestly, the only reason Bronson was able to do anything was because he practiced a 40% damage jump-in combo. He was outplayed for the whole set and never really did anything showing particular merit, especially when he had Hugo out.

Hopefully he plays more against a variety of real players in the practice session and starts to think more about how to land a hit, otherwise it’s only going to get worse when the SF players get the combo system down pat for their characters, use supers, etc.

Will they make a recap show where they wrap up all 10-12hrs in to like 30 mins? =x

yea i thought she was actually quite solid with her reactions and jump ins etc. if she learns how to do some proper damage she might surprise some people.
