That’s the whole irony of this Cross Assault show. Capcom tries to generate hype and drama via their rules, challenges, etc. But the real drama came completely from something else that Capcom did not plan to happen in the exhibition matches.

Many of us had questions and oftentimes concerns regarding various elements surrounding this new games release.
Then these highly recognized top players come along all giving almost RIDICULOUSLY positive reviews of this new title SxT?
It just makes me wonder if they have really sincerely been excited about this new game or if this is all simply just one big commercial of sorts?
I mean no big deal either way I guess but I’m not really a fan of commercials and would rather get some honest reviews for products.
In seeing how Ono San likes to present information the whole business model/potential marketing plan of Capcom ( utilizing some community folks to help boost excitement/sales ) seems more than plausible .
I don’t fault anyone for trying to “use what they’ve got to get what they want.”
I personally really liked the “top” FGC better though when I was under the overall impression that they were just really really good players having matches.

They must still be cautious not to cross the ultimate advertising faux pa or at least the perception of being caught in a boldface lie.

Aris knows whats up. The scene alienates everyone, everyone gets ripped on (team white people anyone?). You have to earn that respect and prove yourself. This is a lion’s den.
I disagreed with Aris on the points of sexual harassment, but for Jared to say that its extreme sexual harassment to call Phoenix a bitch? I’m not sure I can get with that. That point seemed really stupid to me. I think there is a lot of misogyny in this scene, I think going that far is really off and not something that matters to be honest.
