Maybe if he didn’t do exactly the same thing in pretty much every other match he’s played in recent memory. And his Kazuya was barely worth switching in for, regardless of the reasoning.
I thought his unsafe Juri pinwheels were more questionable, personally. But on second thought I guess that’s the kind of player he is.
Ryan Hart’s anti E sports speech on commentary yesterday about FG’s being more fun when not about tiers and sponsors and sht was the highlight of yesterday’s episode for me. Ryan Hart <3
Im watching archives right now I missed most of stream but how did stream chat react to Jago’s statements about female gamers when sherry was playin? LMAO
I think we’re beyond the BS drama and more so focused that they BS’d through the match like that. They’re playing us like we’re stupid and regardless of its an exhibition or not you still play like its a regular match and not sandbag.
I don’t know bout you guys, but cross assault REALLY makes me want to buy the game now. I was apprehensive at first, but now I think that this will be a very hype game.
Although, I think SfxT will split the community even further. SF4 is already losing stream time due to UMVC3, now with SfxT taking more time…I don’t know what’s gonna happen.
Of course the hype was fake. I mean, you’d have to be stupid to actually buy into all that Jago vs Mike Ross drama. From the start, it was so transparent they were just trying to manufacture some WWE-esque rivalry. Hell, I thought this whole time that it was supposed to feel forced and obvious for the sake of spoofing WWE grudge matches. If it was actually meant to fool us then…wow. The guys running this shit must really think we’re dumb.
The match itself? I have no opinion on it’s legitimacy (or supposed lack-there-of). I guess you could argue it was fake due to Jago not tagging out or whatever, but then again it’s a new game and even these guys haven’t spent THAT much time with it. I could understand Jago (or anyone else) dropping the ball like that this early in the games’ life-span (and with $1000 on the line, at that).
To kinda sum up stuff, the derisive feeling toward e-sports is that people in the FGC feel as if trading hype for professionalism when it comes to the presentation/commentary is an overall negative. I feel as if taking some pages out of the traditional sports presentation book is a good idea. I kinda liked the UFC-esque intros to each match. I think instant replay is a good idea too.
