The Cross Assault thread (link to stream in 1st post)

Thing is Nerd Josh already beat his ass convincingly. Run off the momentum while you can and get rid of him.

Or they could think about their decisions and not just rush into head first. They have time to think - why not take advantage of that? They even figured out that Akuma was the best choice for data, which I really wasn’t expecting. Sub had a good idea with Tekken characters but Akuma is literally top tier in every game he’s in except maybe one or two. It would especially be the case if his demon flip palm was +, or some crazy shit like that. Ogre would’ve been a good choice too considering how little is known about his move properties, but sticking with a character you know is godlike > sticking with the unknown.

Good shit. Hope they publish it online, but if not we’ll have it in a week anyway.

Edit: Oh, and yeah, take out 200yen now. Very obvious. Giving him a day would probably change things. Bronson will never get the hang of this because his footsies are god awful - don’t know how he lost them but they are seriously gone. That shit wasn’t sandbagging.

I think team SF is going to use all day tomorrow to practice playing the game in real matches. They are going to ignore the challenge completely.

Also, Team SF is full of whiny bitches. Man up and play the game. I know $25k is a good chunk of money, but they’re there to play the game…not avoid playing because they haven’t had enough practice. Team Tekken hasn’t had anymore practice than Team SF.

Yeah, but if they were smart, they could set it up such that the last player on the SF team is their strongest player, and the last player on the Tekken team is their weakest player, thus guaranteeing a win for team SF.

'Course that part doesn’t matter because there are no team prizes, so there’s not much motivation to do that.

I think Team SF is going to regret it if they let Bronson and 200 Yen live through these early days; take them out while they are still somewhat ignorant, don’t let them get started.

On the other hand, I do understand the sentiment of just trying to get to the next day; you can’t blame Josh for giving into his self-preservation instinct, even if he is only putting off the inevitable of playing another good player.

True but the incentive is that if you win all the time, you can’t be selected by the enemy team for elim.

I know it would’ve pissed Renic off to be up for elimination third day in a row but they should’ve sent him in against Bronson/200 Yen. Renic at least to me seems like easily the best player on both teams right now and has the most experience being in that situation. Probably could have taken out 200 yen because he was already demoralized from choking up that trial.

I’m also predicting TastySteve to go far because they haven’t even bothered to consider him besides saying “oh he jumps a lot”. It’s like they’re ignoring him completely.

tasty steve might be the best player tonight for team tekken.

My God, so many Rufus players. Really surprised to see that kind of turn out considering his popularity around these parts.

I think I agree with Sherry’s sentiment that eventually Team Tekken is going to figure out how to counterpick that grappler shit, and then Renic will be done. It might be a good idea to let him lie low for a day or two, so he doesn’t get downloaded so quickly.

Good call; he seems to be digging into the game a lot deeper then some of the other players, and he is going to be a tough elimination the longer he sticks around. He is my sleeper pick to win the whole thing.

i think the tekken side definitely has the higher level players overall. they should just put josh up against bronson/200 yen/steve now and get one of those guys out of there.

I forgot his combo in seconds and can’t recall what it was about, but I still remember the knee juggle loop. Cause it looked stylish, which I thought was the point of the challenge. The Team SFs combo looked like any old combo, or did I miss something?
All the judges motivated it by saying at least he finished the combo, but didn’t he fail as well?
Hella weird.

Edit: lol at team SFs Awkward Circles ™

I’d probably have a very different outlook if 25k was on the line, but as it looks now I’d be kind of embarrassed as Team SF. Sending their top players against Team Tekken’s worst shows a total lack of confidence in Team SF’s abilities as players.

Well I guess they’ll have to man up sometime as the lower level players get eliminated.

That’s actually true, I forgot she said that. That is a good point, so they probably should’ve just had Josh go up. I kinda agree with Josh though, it is stupid that they didn’t get any match experience, but hey the Tekken guys are in the same boat.

He finnished his plan C combo, then went for plan B and A, but failed. Yet the judges was of the opinion that his wallbounce/floorbounce combo that he finished, was more stylish than the 2x magic series + knee combo that was dropped. I wasn’t that surprised.

Edit: It wasn’t a 2x magic series combo sorry. It was 1 magic series and then something I can’t remember that was canceled into king again.

Renic is just running grapplers to scrub out some easy wins, I’m almost positive he will rock a serious team when it comes down to it.

Doesn’t he play grapplers regardless?

Smart though, pick the scrub killers. Vanilla Sent and Zangief.

You know that he mains Alex in 3S and Hakan in SFIV, right? This isn’t just a phase.

Renic has always played grapplers, but it is true that no one who isn’t familiar with SF is gonna know how to fight Abel let alone what to do about Hugo.

Also grapplers aren’t scrubby. Whiffed SPDs have the longest recovery in the world and in a game where combos do huge damage that’s a distinct disadvantage.
