Which AA command grab should I use with Marduke? Medium?

My Team for now is Law/MarDuke

It depends on the Tekken String if you can chain into it or not. You definitely can’t chain into strings where the first move includes a directional input, and Strings that begin with two Heavy attacks also cannot be chained into (you’ll get the launcher instead).

a couple of general 1 meter combos building off of others peoples work:

  1. j.hk, ex tackle, far mp xx D+hp xx DP xH 442 damage (scaling is minimal cause of the starter)

  2. 2p (overhead) st.mp xx ex tackle, far mp xx D+hp xx DP+h (445 damage)

after mp, d+hp, you can add a cr.mp before the gator slam for more damage.

Edit: Also you can chain into strings with two heavy attacks as long as you get the right heavy attack.

marduk can do like far lp, far hp, hp and get the little elbow, but your to far away for the elbow to hit if you do it so you don’t get launcher.

Marduk far far:mp::hp::f::mp::d::mp::hp: string causes a juggle state similar to c.hp on CH when used in a juggle.

The string seems to only connect in the corner, mid screen the elbow whiffs a lot unless midscreen requires stricter timing.

ie: j.hp, j.hk, EX tackle, mp-hp-f+mp-d+hp xx tag cancel, Abel f+mk~f, dash, f+mk~f, dash, s.hp xx Skyfall works

I mess around with Marduk when I’m playing people weaker than me, and I seriously cannot believe how good his falling sky grab is. It picks up EVERYTHING. I am considering getting a bit more serious with the big dude due to my initial impressions of his strength as a character.

I am extremely surprised to find this subforum so small.

i like him better then hugo he can actually deal with getting rushed down becuase his grab is so good…he just has a harder time dealing with fireballs then hugo …so this guy will get destroyed by juri and sim…other then having a hard time dealing with fireballs hes pretty good

^^^ the fireball thing is negated by tagging him in safely. yeah, obvious i know… but sometimes the most obvious things are the best. case in point instead of laing a match all point with your first character… make it a goal to tag marduk in safely at the earliest possible moment so that he gets in for free and can take some regular damage from bad guesses and build meter for your point. thats how im using him anyways. for instance with my akuma team i just divekick in and then do fierce srk plus tag. marduk is in safely and i have a better character up close than akuma, with alot more health to boot. which is better for akuma cause he doesnt put his hp on the line as much and i get to play around with duk while analyzing the opponents tendencies then let akuma come in and mop them up. all that for 1 -2 meters.

does anyone have any good tag combos with marduk being tagged in? the best ive got for juggles is jump hk (bounce) close st.fp xx dp+h… 354 damage before scaling…

anyone got anything better against an airborn opponent?

after rolento baton twirls I do J.hk, ex tackle st.mp,d+hp xx gator slam (adding another cr.mp does less damage)
if I dont’ want to use more meter I do j.hk, st.mp, d+mp xx gator slam I thnk that does more than just st.hp

anyone have any good way to deal with people neutral jumping to escape the grab mixups? the angle on the gator grab seems weird for neutral jumping (though i could be using the wrong strength one), i’ve been trying standing light punch/cr. hp but not sure what is optimal

Have you tried c.hp xx dash cancel, s.mp xx dp+hp? I haven’t had much success with c.hp as an anti-air, but I suppose pending the match-up it could work out okay

His H gator slam hits twice. That’s probably what you’re thinking of.
