Some nooby questions guys. What’s his best anti air other than ex gator slam?I’ve been using lp gator slam with a lot of success, but anything else I should know?
Also, I’ve been having trouble with tag in launchers combos(marduk coming in off of a boost combo) I do st.mpxxhp gator slam, but the hp gator slam always comes out as a st.hp>launcher -______-. You just cancel into it right?I don’t have to pause in between?
i like close standing lp and cr.hp aside from the solid lp dp and ex dp
just do cr.mpxxhp dp if ur having trouble its the same dmg and u almost never miss it.
but you could also get more dmg than that.
Yeah, you just cancel into the Gator Slam from MP. Check your inputs in training mode to make sure you’re doing the motion right - if you’re also getting a launcher that could mean you’re hitting HP more than once, as well.
For anti-airs, I personally don’t use EX GS that much; just stick with LP. I feel like for the extra damage it gives, the meter isn’t worth it, and it leaves you in awful position.
I just lost a game where i command grabbed, it played the sound effect that it plays when you land a command grab, the screen started to zoom in, and then the opponent jumped out of the grab and punished me. has that happened to anyone else?
Rollback, it’s happened to me. Just the way the online works.
okay good to know it’s online based and not a glitch with marduk’s command grab. kinda sucks to get the command grab right on your screen for the win and end up losing it to a full punish due to online systems
What do you use as an air to air? J.MP or J.HP? What can you follow if hits?

neutral jump mk is pretty good as an air to air. it’s hitbox goes pretty far in front of marduk and his hurtbox is pushed pretty far backwards. on counter hit you have enough time to cr.HP xx HP Gator slam for decent meterless damage i think it’s about 350, probably a little more.
I use n. Jump MP
And then jumping LK wins alot in the air.
Jumping MP only wins if you jump first I think.

I meant jumping forward, I saw Mike Ross doing j.HP but he loosses to many air-air situations
So why not just use LP air grab? Then you get to start making them guess. I almost. Always land a full combo after the air grab.

Air-to-air with Marduk just doesn’t seem worth it, I avoid it. It seems like he’ll get beat in the air 99% of the time.
N.jump MP is easy to do on reaction if you are too late to air grab. Plus alot of times the range is no good for the air grab. Otherwise I would just air grab. My opinion is use these two options. Anyone else found anything better?

So i repeat the question but in other terms…: What do you do to cut distances? Just walk? Dash? or jump foward,and in this case… with what?
Lots of little stuff S.HK has huge distance and you cancel into launcher.
Spinning back fish has armor, and links to LK or C.LK.
I do do alot of walk, block, walk, block.
Jumping unless for crossup or faking the crossup might be a bad idea.

Why M ROSS is ALLWAYS doing the s.lk>s.mkHPGator after ex-wall-bounce? With MP you can do more damage
I know it is so frustrating to see him do that, along with missing it 1/4 of the time, so Many better options! Even lk-hp-hp has better damage and easier execution and he refuses to do it, I’ve tried tweeting him but he don’t listen
Not everyone plays characters to 100% efficiency, he has other strengths and talents that he exploits with the character that lead to him being such a good player. You can’t fault someone for doing things their own way. Frankly I use st.lk -> MK on my wall bounce combos just because I know I can hit it 95% of the time without having to think too much. I tend to use st.MP xx Gator Slam HP after launcher for the same reason.
This pretty much what I do as well. I poke with st.HP and st.HK at peak distance to annoy and cr.HK xx backdash to freak people out. A lot of the time on a surprise cr.HK xx backdash that connects people roll forward, leading to a NLS. I think I mentioned earlier that cr.HK xx dash, NLS has served me well as a paper pistol (i.e. a surprise tactic that can catch someone off guard when they don’t expect or know you can do it – but doesn’t work otherwise) against people who like to hang out at mid-range. Free-throws are always fun on-block and on hit you’re still in range for oki NLS or to bait a aerial reversal for Gator Slam HP.
Yea but lk,hp,hp to hp gator slam starts off with the same button as lk,mk but its easier to do because there is no special timing like lk, mk. It also builds more meter and does more damage, so its frustrating to see someone work harder for less results.
Actuallly after wall bouce>cr.MP>HPgator do 8 more damage than lk>mk>HP Gator and it´s a lot easer to do…and yes i tweet him too but no response… ;(
I see also that he begins the wall bounce combo with cr.lk>cr.mk>HK… if you begins with MP>HP>wall bounce you avoid the damage scalling.If close MP gets blocked as it´s 0 on block you have a light NLS garanteed
