The Cooking Thread: Pics or you didn't make it

Wrapped a potato in a wet paper towel and microwaved it for like 3 minutes. Turned out pretty okay.

I usually do one ‘REAL’ cooking session a week
sometimes teo, and then chase it with ‘quick’ meals, the other night I did
Rotiseri chicken from Walmart
Tortelleni
Frozen Grill veggies
1 jar of alfredo

I just cooked the pasta, pulled chicke meat off and thru in pan, added in veggies, then put sauce on
was ready in like 15 minutes, and cheaper than eating out (bill came to $20 at Walmart, but thats cause I bought drinks
it was enough food to feed like ten so it lasted a bit)

two days outta the week. then work the leftovers. thats if im not using the crock pot

I usually fix one dish
the next night during leftovers I prep the next meal
definitely marinate the meats an chop up any needed ingredients.

Another thing I do is buy the big packs of meats, seafood
get those freezer seal bags by ziplock an store em in the freezer. less store visit for the higher product. I usually try to get the sales an cop from the butcher early wednesday morning during the ‘cutting time’

yeah the hardest part about where I’m living right now, my refrigerator can’t hold much in the way of left-overs and I can’t store much - but thats the way to do it, I like to get like a big pack of chicken breast, drop them individually in sandwhich bags and marinate them all in different sauces, sometimes with some cut up veggies to boot.

I made lasagna with layers of bacon on the inside and chopped up bacon on top. My house smelled fucking amazing all day after I made this.

Simple chili. Homemade tomato sauce.

Sent from a phone, using an app that I purchased from an App Store, that appends this signature above my signature to make me look superior in social status to everyone else.

Last night was another Meatless Monday. Last week my wife made butternut squash grilled cheese sandwiches, roasted red pepper grilled cheese sandwiiches and tomato soup. Last night I made ‘pizza’
two different types - one with onions/mushrooms/asparagus (tasted sooo good) and another with onion/mushroom/soy chorizo

the first one was the better (this was the second and it over cooked and had too much cheesde). TWAS GAAHHHRRRRRRREAT!

Eat dem veggies
and soy.

I want another themed day of the week. Meatless Monday. Take Out Wednesday. Hmm

Oh my god those look amazing. Did you just use a basic confectioners sugar icing, and if so, was it sickly sweet with the bacon?

One of my specialties is strawberry mint chocolate chip scones:

So what do you guys use in your fried rice recipes?

Was gonna make some beef fried rice and wanted to add something different.

I’m enterering a wing contest, so last night I took a crack at making something new. BEHOLD! Bacon-wrapped baked wings!

Seasoned the wings with a mixture of garlic powder, bacon salt, cayenne pepper, and dry mustard

Wrapped em in bacon and let them rest for 20 minutes

Baked them at 190ÂșC for an hour, it was neat to see the bacon grease leak out and sizzle in the pan.

They tasted really good, I’m bringing them to work today to force them on others because I would have a coronary if I ate all of these by myself.

The icing was just confectioners sugar, maple syrup, and butter, I believe. Something like that. It wasn’t too sweet, the bacon in the cupcake seemed to provide a good balance for the sweetness.

Update: I won “most unique” in the wing contest. I ended up just rolling the wings in brown sugar, wrapping them in bacon, and leaving them overnight before baking. I added a sprinkle of brown sugar before the oven, and they came out amazing.

egg, green peas, carrots, bean sprouts, soy sauce, rice. pretty standard fair for me. shrimp is the preferred meat of choice for me.

been baking more recently, but forgot to post up pics. today I made some twix:

Gumbo

Crawfish Etouffee

Basic as hell meal I whipped up the other day. Ground beef, pasta, some Alfredo sauce, pepper and lemon seasoning (I also dab a bit of soy sauce on the ground beef while it’s in the skillet) and veggies from a can. It’s not Top Chef or anything but simple is sometimes better.
