The Comprehensive Blanka Match Up Thread

So against Abel off of a blocked step kick if you do reversal normal upball you’ll beat either TT or EX TT, and if he st.fierces you will only take about 10% and you get out of the mixup.

If he hits another button like cr.jab/cr.short you will trade way in your favor or counterhit him.

Guess I solved my step kick problem myself.

He can ultra you if he TT’s, but COD depends on spacing, so it is risky for him to go for. Need to test counterhit.

edit:
counterhit seems safe from COD

Am I misunderstanding this, or should it read “You can Ultra him if he TT’s”

Ibuki:
I like to use st.Roundhouse and buffer elec. when she jumps in with a Kunai. The roundhouse will knock away the Kunai and the elec. when punish her during her recovery frames when she lands, regardless of what side she lands on.
Of course that wont work on wake up kunai pressure

nicekunai trick. and he meant ex TT, so ur ball whiffs

Oni and Evil Ryu…pfff…2 shotos more to destroy! see ryu, akuma, gouken matchups if you wanna know how to beat them

cant belive capcom put them into the game! there so many fighters the comunity begged for and they add 2 more pyjama boys…

^ I agree i wanna see Rolento not more shoto’s

so I’ve been using j.mp on a lot more characters because it stuffs a hell of a lot of reversals if spaced properly(fei flamekicks, some shoryus, lariats, etc)

Anyone have a detailed account of setups that give you max spacing other than b.throw? The more safe pressure tools I have the more I can optimize.

i strongly disagree.

Random question: Who is Cammy’s, Rog’s, and Bison’s worst matchup?

Chun is good against balrog
Honda, Guile, Balrog are good against cammy.
Guile is good against bison

Hmmm, I working on some alternates and Seth is going to well. I pretty much avoid chun in every game but I might try her out to deal with Rog, thanks.

guile is fine vs rog.

I haven’t tried using rainbow ball. Usually they time it so the upball whiffs but if they are a little off on the setup I can land it.

so u2 can hit bk and ibuki kunai runaway? who can help me understand the timing for these.

there really isn’t a set timeframe vs. kunai runaway really because Ibuki can throw the kunai at variable heights and if you time it wrong it’ll hit you out of U2.

against burn kicks they have horrible frame data so just ultra the second you see here do one.

I’d still say U1 is wayyyyyy better against both characters.

viper does seismo into sjc bk. if i block seismo they will bk backwards or just neutral. if i can catch them with u2 at that point that is HUGE. if not then i guess u1 is fine.

Just tested she’s easy to tag if she neutral jumps, but against full screen hp seismo, sj back, U2 seems to whiff the first hit no matter when you do it, even if you hop, the SJ is still trying to go backwards she’s just on the edge of the screen, so the second you move foward she gets a little more screen to retreat from. works in the corner though. If she does lk burn kick she obviously stays in place though.

If she’s super jumping backwards after seismo why not just ex upball her when you see the flamekick start up? Worst that’ll happen is that you trade.

doesn’t work that way. if it’s a mid screen ex seismo you will whiff her. ex hori ball MIGHT work. HP seismo from full screen, i don’t care about that. But ex seismo gets used in mid range foots and if you can hit her out of bk with something htat is good.

i think you’re talking maybe ex seismo at close range but good vipers will just sj dash after a ex seismo instead of sj bk.

I just hop over ex seismo on reaction.

I play mostly terrible vipers though.

but yeah thats what I thought you meant by “runaway”

If abel is right out of cr.strong range and does short wheel kick it seems really safe and is hard to react to, then it stands me up, then I don’t have good options versus stepkick because I’m standing and don’t have down charge.

=/

Edit:
Analyzing the Cammy matchup is pointless, it’s so one sided that you might as well switch.
