The only one I know of is Genki.
So I have a question. Lately I’ve been playing my friend on GGPO and he’s been abusing the shit out of shoulder charge (or whatever). Why? It’s impossible to hit out of because it’s lightning fast, does chip damage, and is 100% safe on block. He could literally do that over and over and get a perfect.
Given that Alex is so low tier, this can’t be right. What can you do to punish a blocked charge?
There is also Zangoef and KSK. KSK owns an arcade and runs his own ranbats.
@Bainemo :r: I think you can punish a blocked charge with your fastest poke…(I think…)…Ken can sa3 on block (need to test that…) but from my experience playing Alex, most low attacks will stop a shoulder charge if the low attack came our first. I’ve even been hit out of EX Dashing Elbows by stuff like the shotos’ c.mk and similar attacks. Watch how your friend uses his dash elbows and stick a move (ie something that Alex can’t dash through…fireball, low poke etc) in before the dash when he gets predictable or parry the dash elbow and punish him.

Therein lies the problem with GGPO. With the input lag and the…regular lag, doing something like using a move as he charges is near-impossible. I even tried using Urien (who also has a safe charge) and guess what? I steamrolled him using ONLY CHARGE. It seems that on GGPO, characters with safe charges are top tier.
And no, you CAN’T punish it with a poke, or anything (as far as I know). Since I play as Ibuki, really the best I can do is use neck snap and hope he charges straight into it. You can block, dash, and throw, but that’s techable.
Yeah you’re right about Alex being safe on block. But the dash elbow does get beat out by low pokes…atleast it happens to me all the time on ggpo and 2df. So I guess considering the lag, you just gotta risk it to win it and go that low poke. (poke with discretion) :wgrin:

If there’s no lag, the only safe Slash Elbow is the short version (light kick). All others get beat by low into whatever, or any super that’s 3-frames or less on start-up. And that’s on block.
I figure, for your lag problem, compensate and just mash your super out when he does his slash elbow and you see the recovery. Or some bullshit like that.

Played alot of 3s casuals at a tourny yesterday. Alex was getting good results.
Kechu the Australian player has a pretty sick alex you can find some of his vids on youtube. Also Renic aka Captain Fucking America lol has a good Alex.
But yeah KSK and Zangoef are beasts.
I have never been happier than when i pulled ChunBalanced out of her super with my grab headbutt also got the KO with it. Gratification.
