Time Machine is a 19 minute video with 10 minutes of credits. Even those remaining 9 minutes are padded with slow motion and long transition screens reminding you who the authors are between every damn combo. Even the combos themselves are obscured by irritatating effects and author names covering the super meter. Oh, and the music makes me want to retch.
It’s more of an ego circlejerk than a combo video.
HSF Insanity DVD Preview Clips (apparently posted a couple of months ago)

(lots of preview clips in the first box with the three game screenshots)
commentary:
Check out the stuff directly under the (2005/6/24) text. There are six links and the two video links in the second column are awesome. One of em is a bunch of insane combos (like Balrog doing c.LK xx dash upper, s.LK xx dash upper, dash upper, s.HP) and the second one is a bug video. They do this crazy thing in WW where Blanka’s electricity does 3 hits and like 80% damage against another Blanka. I think that’s because Capcom never bothered to program an “electrified” animation for Blanka since you are never supposed to have a mirror match in that game. They also do Blanka vs Blanka one hit electricity followed by j.MP juggle. Hella weird. And they manage to get some crazy game ending going in the middle of the car stage. I don’t know what to say about that one. Anyway thanks to janissary tan for showing me this link.
Wow, definately awesome stuff in those. Question, it had a SFAE logo at the bottom during that bug vid, they couldn’t have been using a copy though could they? I thought Magic Throw, Handcuffs, etc. was taken out of it.
Hm, that is pretty weird. Maybe it’s just a commemorative thing and they were using the original version of WW to do those glitches. As far as i know, you’re right about all of those glitches being removed for HSF. But if you wanna see some more OG stuff, check out this vid on CV.
commentary:
At this point, it’s probably a safe bet to assume that anything done using an emulator takes advanage of some sort of tool to assist in combo execution. Whether it’s slowing the framerate to a crawl, programming in inputs using macros, or splitting combos into segments so they can be performed piece-by-piece, emulators offer a lot of advantages to just doing things the old-fashioned way. In any case this video is pretty impressive so it’s worth the download. Just turn off the sound so you don’t have to deal with the horrid soundtrack. Also if you’ve got a problem with a lot of people getting kicked in head, maybe you should pass on this one. I like the Vega super grab setup against Blanka, even though it’s probably escapable somehow. But people do 720 setups with Gief/Hawk in combo videos so why not Vega? Still, the combos in the preview for the Insanity DVD were a little bit better, especially the crazy Sagat combo they had.
commentary:
Took care of the Capcom half last time. So i’m gonna go through the interesting stuff on the SNK side this time.
Ryo segment: The CvS2 lvl2 cancel juggle glitch is used to sneak in the DP after the j.HP following the jumpcanceled launcher special. The second time around, they wait until the lvl2 super knocks Rolento up high before canceling into the same launcher special. The uppercut at the end of that juggles because it has juggle potential, which is as convenient as it is random. Anyway the extra airtime Rolento gets off that method is enough for Ryo to land and connect with c.MP (which juggles because of the jumpcancel), then cancel into the machine gun punches (which juggles because of the lvl2 cancel glitch). The obvious improvement here over the first Harvest vid is the insertion of that c.MP before the machine gun punches. If you wanna read more about the glitch, go here: http://sonichurricane.com/articles/cvs2juggle.html
Kim segment: For whatever reason, doing Kim’s air super against Cammy’s Cannon Drill freezes her in that weird air state. I think it’s because she’s too low to the ground for Kim to continue the super so the game just puts him back on his feet, but she’s stuck like that until she gets hit by something with juggle potential. So Kim uses the opportunity to charge some meter and then continues the juggle. The other C-Kim combo uses the lvl2 cancel glitch and it’s explained in the article linked above. I really like the four-hit ender to the A-Kim combo.
Yamazaki segment: Again, uses the lvl2 cancel glitch. This ender is actually kinda practical though. The hardest part is doing the dirt kick late enough to connect but still early enough to count as a lvl2 cancel.
Raiden segment: Once again, lvl2 cancel glitch, except this one is all sorts of practical. That super pushes them pretty far into the corner too, so it’s kind of a common occurence in matches.
Nakoruru segment: Walking forward inbetween jabs is buff.
Todo segment: The cool thing about this combo is that they are getting 4 hits per repetition, by adding in an extra c.LP to kill time while the wave fades away (since you can’t start another wave while another projectile is onscreen).
Athena segment: The A-Athena combo against Dan uses that same last-frame rule-breaking OTG command throw trick that i explained for the Honda segment of the Capcom section of this video. It’s just cool that she does two air throws and a normal throw in one combo. That’s not something you’re supposed to be able to do in CvS2.
Haohmaru segment: Haohmaru is able to juggle j.HP after his interrupted HP DP using the same principle that Ken used to juggle MK fancykick after his interrupted MP DP. The difference is that Haohmaru’s alloted juggle period lasts a log longer since his HP DP normally takes a lot more time inbetween hits.
Hm, it’s kinda weird that they have an O.Iori combo and a G.Rugal combo but no E.Ryu or S.Akuma combos. I hadn’t noticed that before.
Haha i quit that website over “creative differences” almost a year and a half ago. Nagata Lock started a thread recently asking if VidOp had died so i wrote up an explanation … and the whole thread was mysteriously deleted. I’m not gonna get into it again because i sure don’t want this thread to disappear for no reason. Whatever happens to VidOp has got nothing to do with me anymore.
The last couple of days have been pretty slow, which isn’t surprising at all since this is a pretty socially active community and everyone must have been out partying or whatever. There’s a trailer for some MvC/MvSF combo/glitch video on ComboVideos.com and a new CvS2 match on CrazyAssKim.com featuring Dhalsim and Maki dominating. Not much i can think of other than that. Post 'em if you got 'em.
Ah good old Ko-hatsu seems to be the main home for a variety of games. They update pretty regularly and now they have updated again. To get to the movies click on the event page and if you scroll down they are on the right hand side. Movies to take note of are the Hokuto No Ken match, and the Samurai Showdown Tenka match from the 2 on 2 featuring Nicotine (old priest guy). Nicotine has some beastly combos and semi hard to block mixup off of knockdown, I’m liking the looks of him. Also there is an Soul Cali 3 match at the bottom of the page if people are still interested in that sorta thing.
updated my site
SFEX3: Uploaded 6 Street Fighter EX3 which are mirrored from http://csx.jp/~shortlife/sfex3/sfex3001.html
Combo Videos (begazyakku.mpg, kenkakuseisitahokuto.mpg, kensydougaisuto.mpg, ryukensinryuken.mpg, sokusi.mpg, syadougaisutogaruda.mpg)
The Dhalsim fight was really cool and after Maki kicked some ass (after 3:13) I loved the comic TV part (Keep your head up, keep your eyes open and peace in the midle) :bgrin:
Sorry for the LATE reply, I actually missed reading it because it was at the bottom of the 4th page. As for combo vids, I’m working on 2 NGBC vids. And glad to see you enjoyed my vids.
can anyone point me in the direction of the aforementioned Time Travel video or whatever it’s called? I know the credits are long and its full of needles annoyances, but I’ve always had a soft spot for WHP, even if it is just a poor man’s ST. Good tidy thread btw.
One question: To anyone who has seen the Insanity footage Maj posted on this thread… how on earth was the Boxer combo achieved in the first vid? The other combos all looked legit/plausible… I don’t understand how Rog managed to link charge moves with apparently no time to charge… I know this is AE and he was using the CE version of Rog but it just seemed like 0 second charge pretty much! Anyone explain?
Kabukimono, ShinjiGohan: Thanks for contributing updates. Much appreciated.
Persona: Sweet, just don’t forget to let us know when you release them. Also if it’s not too much trouble, please point out some of the more advanced things in the vids. Most of us haven’t had a chance to play that game yet.
The Electrifying One: Check post #119 on page 5. Once you watch it, maybe you can give us a quick rundown of the impressive stuff and throw in your opinion.
