The combo system

Sup guys I was just wanted to know what the combo system is or rather the linking system was in CvS2. I know that it isn’t like the magic series in MvC2 (except for morrigan). Because i noticed that some characters can link a certain number of attacks but some can’t. Is it different for every character or what?

And also, what is the timing required to link attacks? In marvel, GGXX, A3 and other games i can press the next button and it will usually combo but in CvS2 it seems very strict, which is why i find double tapping necessary.

I never double tap, and I still get hard links like Blanka c.short x3, and jab after Sakura Hurricane etc. But yeah really any combo system is “strict” compared to Marvel. Yeah pretty much every combo for characters is distinct for that character.
