i just don’t trust gap’s quality in general. they’re kind of cheap in the first place, but almost nothing i’ve ever bought from them look good past couple of months… except this one random track jacket that i got 2 years ago is still in great shape for whatever reason. i don’t really trust banana republic either, because of this. banana just feels like a marked up gap with slightly better materials and craftsmanship.
i think you can get both better styling and quality from a lot of other retailer brands that are in gap’s price bracket, like express.
All my stuff from BR (which isn’t a lot) is still in great shape. I really like it all, but to each his own. I mostly buy from Express.

and people into denim get into that shit just as much as sneakerheads. to me their like apples and apples. shoes have their own world, and so does denim.
jeans these days have all those fades and lines done at the factory mechanically.

see the lines at the top and the fades in the middle? the point of dry denim is to take a virgin piece of fabric and do that yourself through normal usage.
honeycombs are the lines created on the back of your jeans where your knees bend.
it gets deeper and deeper and deeper. if you think its cool, do the research or talk to people. the above link is a jumping off point. if its retarded, ignore it. you walk up to the average person and show them 300 dollar shoes that have neon colors on them, theyll tell you you dropped your wallet on having a clown shotgunned into your shoes. same deal with the denim. tell them you spent 160 on a pair of pants you wear everyday just to smell, and theyll look at you like the shoe guy.

Ugh. I like some of the plain polos at express, but anything where the logo is bigger than 1x1 inch is ugly. I only get work clothes there. I hate all their casual shit.

^ im only opposed to the logos, not the clothing. i own some lacoste stuff, its well made, but the little logos always make me feel like somethings on my shirt…the shoes are sick,though…
