What’s the most straight looking, but casual blazer that you guys can find? What color would be a good overall for one too?
This is a little off-topic but how much money do you guys (not girls if on this forum) pay for clothes on a monthly or yearly basis?
I find paying for a good quality plaid shirt for 55 bucks ridiculous sometimes I don’t want to buy it for $30. I need quality basics clean clothes at reasonable price. Burlingtons almost cost the same as this high priced stores at the mall. The bottom line could be that I am just a cheapy.
@Las Vegas Pimp, depends on your budget but you can’t go wrong with navy or gray/charcoal type colors. I’d avoid black.
@marcusg. I don’t really buy that many clothes but when I do, I tend to check out the higher end pieces. Basics are cheap at like ~7 dollars per t shirt. Jeans I only own 2 pairs and will be wearing them for a long time, maybe 2 years or so and these were 250 per pair. I guess other shirting just a few at like 100-150 per shirt and for shoes just a nice pair and a beater pair. Also, if I see online people selling things secondhand, I usually scoop that up too since it’s a lot cheaper.
I don’t spend no more than $30 on jeans, $25 on (Polo) shirts (both long and short sleeved), $50 on dress pants, and $35 on dress shirts. Kicks I’ll drop no more than $75 on a pair (and I haven’t yet).
Macy’s, Kohl’s, Bob’s, and Marshall’s are where I’ll usually shop since i’d rather spend less on clothes and more on games and food.
I usually buy my nerdy/gaming printed tees online from Jinx, Tanga, Bewild, or ThinkGeek.
Damn maybe im just too caught up being young n stupid with my money but id spend up to 60-80 for a shirt if its nice enough.
let me go on a rant though and hopefully someone can provide insight
ive grown to HATE HATE HATE polos. ralph lauren/lacoste just bore the FUCK out of me now. everyone wears them, its not unique or classy anymore, its just seems to be like “oh, ANOTHER guy wearing ANOTHER ralph lauren.” nowadays, i focus more on color coordinating basic shit like a white T Vneck with blue/white shoes and blue/white hat and it looks good. once it gets colder, i can jump into sweaters/scarfs/pea coat etc, but for now, whats a good substitute for polos? obviously answer would be button ups, but id feel strange wearing button ups every day (and they get pricy).
overall: i still want to look classy/nice, but i do not want to wear polos anymore. unless i have a bad conception of polos, then thats a different story. i NEVER see anyone wear a burberry polo and i only have one of those, so maybe i should invest in those kinds… although they were expensive as $#%… $100-$120 for just ONE polo smh
Most polos are branded to make it look ugly. Everytime I see Lacoste/Burberry, I think this person just wants you to know how much they spent on their shirt. The Burberry check pattern is so loud and in your face it screams douche. I’m sure you’ve seen this. You could wear some chambray shirts or work shirt type stuff. Simple basic oxfords are pretty cheap.
To me polos are like saying, “I don’t have any taste in styling” (shirt wise). People appear to get them because it says “I can spend lots of money on shirts that people tell me to get.”
I like expensive tees a lot, they are usually nice and comfortable. Just not polos.

These are my favs and I have no problem spending that kind of money on those shirts
Yeah I agree, thats what i was getting at in my OP. Polos are such a fcking cop out… oo look at me i can buy a $60 shirt and throw some jeans on. I cant even front I have more polos in my closet than any other shirt but theyre laying dormant… im trying to get out of that bag and branch into other types of shirts.
