To be fair, that is chump change in terms of Box Office money. It probably cost at least twice that to make.
Still, that’s 26 million more than it should have made.

According to box office mojo the Emoji movie as a 50 million production budget. I doubt it will make it’s production money back seeing how everyone trashing the fuck out of it. I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t end up on Netflix by next month to try to re-coup loses.
I’m still shaking my head that this made anything above a million dollars.
What’s next from Sony…DeviantArt: The Animated Trilogy!!
You guys really surprised people went to see a dumb movie?
SRK full of stupid people.
Seeing people defend emoji movie is hilarious. Also a bit sad
what in gawds name made it that big of budget lololol
Old school Spider-man comics had a lot of Peter’s narration just being his thought bubbles and most of the guys behind the various animation projects still go to that well. Good writing can mask it pretty well, unfortunately a lot of the recent Marvel shows while they have some and nice ideas, writing and character moments have not been that strong compared to things past or even some of the DC animated projects.
I will say this about Ultimate Spider-Man, later episodes and season actually improved. They toned down the cartoony skit plus the 4th wall breaking shit and introduced a shit load of different Marvel characters. It is still not on par with Spectacular or the 90s original in most ways but it was no longer the worst Spider-Man animated program at the time of it ending. I would at least put it above MTV Spider-man (which I judge soley based off that computer generated art style) and Spider-man Unlimited (wasted potential so much wasted potential).
I don’t recall MTV spiderman well but did watch it…didn’t seem bad but wasn’t amazing at all.
It’s Okay, its no 90s Fox Spider-man series, but its far from awful.
It got a few things right and a few things wrong like most of the Spider Man Cartoons from the 90s on wards.
The Exception is Spider-Man Unlimited in 1999, that show was just god awful.
It made the 80s Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends shine in comparison.
mtv spiderman was pretty decent to good but it never had a chance to really spread its wings. it was on at a weird ass time like 10pm on a friday. like nigga we all at the movies or out at that time.
Yeah I remember MTV giving it a retarded time slot.
MTV Spider-Man used mostly original villains. Only four well known villains appeared on the show. It also followed-up on the first movie for some reason.
MTV Spider-Man gets props for the character of Indie and getting Michael Clarke-Duncan to reprise his role as Kingpin.
Also Neil Patrick Harris is grossly underrated as a Spidey VA.
Puss In Boots season 5 dropped Friday…not bad.
That CGI Spidey had potential…kinda like what happened to that CGI Batman. Both were short lived. And never given a chance to grow
Saw the latest Rurouni Kenshin OVA, which was a retelling of the Kyoto Arc.
While not completely terrible, it took some serious liberties with the story, like cutting out half the Juppongatana (Henya, Kamatari, Houji, Cho, and Saizuchi aren’t shown at all), and jobbing out Usui for no reason at all.
The people behind this OVA are supposedly going to do the Enishi arc as an OVA, and that worries me… Because all this shit did was make me want to watch the original series and track down the original manga again.
Let us all take a moment, and remember the badass motherfucker that was Makoto Shishio:
Ah nice, I liked The Batman as well. It could have grown into something real cool.
I’m sad the Jinchuu arc has not gotten a proper animated adaptation after all this time (I don’t want to the Samurai X OVAs). I mean for fuck’s sake everything after the Kyoto/Shishio arc to the end was filler and I just about gave up watching after the arc where there was a group of Christian refugees and the leader who knew Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu.
JG Quintel (Regular Show creator) it making pretty much an adult version of Regular Show for TBS called Close Enough.

Regular show was such a comfy show and near the end got too good for CN to have. Show I feel could have been better on adult swim
that show made no sense in the way they made references. Their were crazy amounts of 80’s references that was def goin over the heads of audiences watching at 5pm in the afternoon on a weekday.
