The Boxing Thread

Wbc/wbo having no power is exactly why boxing is in the shape it is in

You let fighters dictate who they fight you get shit like pacquiao/mayweather happening past their primes

But Im sick and tired of Floyd ducking Ivan Drago tho!

They should have more power though. One thing I do like about UFC is that if you are the champ then you have to defend against the best in your division. I think with how boxing is, it does give people opportunities to duck fights and what not.

That is why pbc is the way to go. WBO can step up and say fuck you to fighters who don’t play ball.

Floyd has fought the best fighters in their prime and came back from adversity.

It is likely Unless it’s the Mayweather version which is arm bars and headlocks… May will runaway and if it is in Vegas, then that runaway will be ignored. To add, Mayweather will be making various terms that would fully - or in majority - give him the advantage.

They arent actually in the same division. Cotto is the champ of GGG’s division. That said Canelo and him are much closer in size, which sounds kind of ass backwards but yeah.

Yeah this. Get one of the ones that have a bearing in the handle. I dont really like the ones with the thicker wooden handles but they perform better. My dad has one that he uses and his is really really good. It feels smooth and its great for doing the doubles and crossovers and stuff.

A lot of fights this week. Looks like we have a lot of fights on the 22/23. Luckily a lot of em start early so I can watch the Rumble/Cormier & Weidman/Belfort fight.

This weeks fights

Lol at anyone thinking Vegas judges are reliably bias one way or the other. To me, that’s the biggest proof that you don’t know anything about boxing. Decisions are like a bad neighborhood, every and any body liable to get robbed blind.

I had Mayweather/Maidana I 7-5 for Floyd, but I wouldn’t argue with someone that had a it a draw.

I have to think GGG would be favored against Cotto or Canelo considering he’s naturally bigger than both of those guy. If Chavez Jr. ever gets his shit together that would be a good fight for him as well.

Maidana 1 couldve gone either way. Castillo 1 shouldve been castillos. but, it is what it is.

Thoughts?

I’m happy that Chocalito got #1, dude is hella exciting to watch. All in all a pretty decent list.

Anyone who can’t understand that constant runaway and over clinching was never allowed in the sport is the one who does not know shit aboutique boxing.

i

Not going to pretend to know everyone on that list, but I would have Matthyse, Prov and Kovalev higher than Canelo, for sure. Granted Canelo just KTFO’d Kirkland, but besides his name, I don’t see how you can say he’s one of the most exciting fighters when dudes like Prov leading with their face and others like Kovalev just putting constantly blasting niggas out of the ring. I might be biased because I was a bit shocked when I heard that Pascal got TKO’d, didn’t expect him to win, but he’s no bum.

Canelo is exciting when hes throwing combos, those things are beautiful. even roy jones said he loves watching canelos combos

All Floyd does is run…Said every floyd hater that don’t know shit about boxing and who fails to do his research homework first before opening his dcaf mouth ROFL! #ShotsFired

Has anyone watched this? I just randomly saw it on Hulu, lol.

Seems like three coaches (Floyd Sr, Guerrero, Judah) take on up and coming boxers and train them up. Interesting stuff.

Friday Night Fights on Fox Sports 1.

Heavyweight bout is about to start.

China’s Taishan vs. Gauch

Lmao at this mother fucker. This nigga could nor let go of the fact that his arguments got buried a long time ago. Get over it, idiot… you have already proven that running and extensive cliching is not allowed in boxing with your past references. No one gives a shit about floyds older days. Damn these new age ā€œtrollsā€ suck allot of balls, they are no doubt weaker/poor versions of the originals.

Taishan is pretty good. I am not all impressed with FNF but tgere are some guys that are interesting to watch.
