Nothing More. We Are Not Trying To Offend AnyOne Or “Step On Any Toes”. We All LOVE The Street Fighter IV Community. We EmBrace It Whether Or Not We ReCeive Positive And/Or Negative FeedBack. OK, sorry about my little joke about the money match. Unfortunately on the internet, tone of voice can be really hard to hear.
I applaud the fact that you guys tried to be creative about this, but like ironfist said an invitation list this big is not the best move. A high stakes, open to the public tourney like evo would have been much better, not to mention much more hype. Not to mention a bigger pot!
What’s a top5 placer at the qualifier gonna feel like? “Well shit, I placed top 5, but this is the newb tournament :(” It’s like winning the world series in the minor leagues.
I’m 99.9% positive a top 5 placer at the qualifier is gonna FEEL a lot better that he got 3 or 4 wins instead of 0-2 at evo or 0-2 at WCW.

I was confronted by a very respectable individual from the SoCal SF4 community this evening. I will not name any names, but it was an email from one Tournament organizer to another. He had a lot of lagitamate points about our event and a certain individual that made it onto our list of Invites. I did remove that particular someone from our list, and spoke to him personally to explain how the Oc/La scene felt about his participation. He was very understanding, and will still be attending on October 3, but in the regular tournament. I hope all of you have it in your hearts to forgive my honest mistake. … have fun no matter what you do on October 3rd and be safe!
I appreciate the mention, but really, I’m just getting back into this thing and I’ve done pretty poorly in the 2 tournaments I’ve entered since then. Parts of that list might be a little questionable, but no more questionable than seeding me at WCW based on how I played 9 months ago. I probably wouldn’t play anyway though, not really the kind of thing I’m interested in.
thanks for the mention! but i really feel like im not that good anymore or as i used too be (just being honest). i stopped playing serious after sbo quals, entered WCW and did not prepare for that at all (stopped playing serious after sbo quals…) and now after WCW i just got back into it so i dont think i would be added to the list. probably couldnt make it anyways but thanks!
