ok cicada’s gonna have his tourney and box arena are gonna have theirs. like homeboy said, plenty of places to choose from. so why all the shit talk? those of you who are playing in the tourneys which ever it may be, have a blast. those of you that has nothing to do with these events, just chill. sd ain’t doin nothin to nobody but tryin to promote their community, they’re good people if anyone bothered to get to know them. so stop hatin folks

Whether or not I or anybody else wasn’t invited really isn’t the issue for me because one, I dont really care that much, its not my say as to who somebody thinks is worthy to play in their own tournament; and two, I said I’d go to Cicada’s tournament before I heard about this one anyway. As far as the dates, tournaments happen on the same days all the time, people choose where they wanna go, so whatever. The SD cats are cool as fuck and I’m down to go to play down there, but can’t make it to this particular one invitation or not.
The reason I asked the question I did previously was because, if you’re having an “elite invitational only” tournament, what’s the point in inviting everyone that gets top 24 in every other socal tournament and then some? There isn’t much exclusivity there. The fee is upped to $20 so you’re already knocking out random dudes. But by showing a big list, naming certain names and forgetting/excluding others, you’re opening a big retarded can of worms that doesn’t need to be opened and a giant dumb fucking shitstorm ensues as we just saw.
You could have just had the $20+3 entry fee. The people on that list were gonna go or not go regardless of being sent an invitation, but you wouldn’t have run the risk of offending anybody. Or if you wanted an ACTUAL feeling of exclusivity with the tournament you could have just invited like the TOP 7 or 15 ppl with some backups, and have people play for that last spot. The prize would have to be worth it though.

second Iron fist I see your point why have a “invitational” if you are gonna invite a good amount of top players? they could have just called it the elite and un elite tourny and you’re right all the good players would play in the 20$ one and all the mediocre players would play in the 10$ one etc etc they just thought it would be a cool idea to send a invitation to players via email instead of just saying hey we have this tourny come down.
obviously as much as we tried to come up with a really good list some names were missed and some people might have “snuck in” but to be honest it would be hard to build a good purse if you don’t have a lot of players in it. I dunno all in all I think its a REALLY good idea to have a lower tier tournament get big to build up peoples moral and overall gaming skill.
maybe they made a mistake in making it invite only BUT I PROMISE YOU THIS.
the tourny will be ran very well , it’s a nice venue. live stream with a nice set up and bonus prizes and cool people having a good time. and there will be me screaming CHECK YA ASSSSS probly all night long that is unless looka comes out then i’ll live it to him.
