More important than anything, you get a special intro :D.
You bring up a good point about rocking all meter gems though. I’ve been trying to decide between the power or defense sets with my Abel, but I think I might just scrap both of those and use meter on both. Super helpful for teams that lack good defensive options without meter.
Of course, the intro is all the fun! Go Chubby and Charming.
Yeah, I used to have Power/Defense with the team, but the problems I was running into were that god-awful throw tech gem never getting activated, and the defense gems aren’t the fortitude ones, which tend are much better as they take damage off, whereas I’m not sure what the iron wall ones do, but they aren’t nearly as good for keeping Jules alive.
Essentially, I tend to like passive gem setups over ones such as the power gems, where they are somewhat wasted when they are on and I have to press the offense to use them. With meter gems, they all activate off of basic things and as either Bobby or Jules I can sit back if I have a lead and whiff their fast mediums to build meter passively and they both make good use of it.
Plus these two do so much damage off of basic stuff that I really don’t feel like I need the power gems to end a game quickly.
Great damage doesn’t automatically relegate a character to an anchor spot, it’s more a lack of other tools that puts them in the anchor position. Bob has a lot of good tools that allow him to be in either position.
With that team I’d say they’re almost even in terms of point ability, although I would put Bob on point. It mostly comes down to who you’re comfortable with.
