Well it is really more in the storytelling approach that they are doing. After 3 seasons, it is pretty much clear now that they want most of the episodes to be purely setup episodes and have the last few tie it up, unlike other shows.
heh I don’t mind the slow story telling, and really wouldn’t expect all eps to be this fast paced. It was just awesome seeing Nucky in action finally. But now that the season is practically over, I can finally say the time spent on Margaret’s subplots had no worthwhile pay off. They could have spent extra time on Chalky.

Damnit, Jimmy’s mom is still breathing, Gyp pissing in the wind then immediately gets stabbed in the back made me LOL.
Since day one I had no doubt that Nucky would get himself out of this mess, but I have to say the writers have impressed me with their execution, those guys are fucked. Luciano’s cockup may have just saved the pair from being caught up in the shit to come.

Now what happens with everyone that ‘turned their back’ on nucky… only Chicago and Chalky showed some sort of alliance

Making Gillian’s OD fate ambiguous was a smart choice, they can put that stupid cunt in any storyline they choose, like dying.
I ain’t worried about Lucky & Lanksy, as history gives them plot immunity.
The death count in this ep surpasses most war dramas! Errybody got shot… and stabbed.
The silent respect gained when Chalky and Capone teamed up was nice too. Same with Nucky’s mindgames.
The entire episode was pretty baller except Gyp’s death. His death needed to be more satisfying- like being buried in hot asphalt and rolled over by a steamroller feet first.
