I’d just like to take some time to say that Blockbuster Total Access is fucking awesome for Blu-ray (they don’t carry HD-DVD, though, so you red guys will need to use Netflix or something instead). They ship super fast, too, even on discs where they claim to have “long wait” status.
here’s mine, i just mix my HD And blu ray together
and
i have a couple movies in the mail on the way to me (click, masters of horror vol 4, superbad, bourne ult, simpsons movie, blade runner, close encounters)
i also have about 15 movies pre ordered and paid off for the rest of dec and january (eastern promises, the kingdom, heartbreak kid, the pianist, white noise, white noise 2, invasion, 3:10 to yuma, saw 4, shoot 'em up, war, RE box set, sunshine, pans lab)
and blockbuster online does have HD DVD, just not in stores (except a few)
oh yea i forgot i have 5 free HD DVD’s (tmnt, darkman, aeon flux, the thing, the frighteners) coming to me hopefully eventually from when i upgraded to a-35
Ah yeah, right. I lost my sense of time for a sec, I must’ve been high. The Blu-ray releases sucked this week, so it’d be interesting if we somehow came out with winning sales.
I don’t have a good digital camera, so I can’t take pics of my (small) collection.
Anyway, my Blockbuster videos actually came in today, two days ahead of schedule (one postal service business day), and they were all initially tagged as “long wait” on Thursday night. So, yes, I highly recommend them, except for that disc-right-in-an-envelope thing they do, but I guess they all do that.
Rumor has it that it works on Boxed Blu-ray sets (Spiderman Trilogy, Harry Potter, Planet Earth, Die Hard). Unfortunately, my Borders doesn’t have them in stock.
Friendly reminder: Last day for Amazon’s FOX/MGM BOGO.
For those of you who want Blu-rays not involved in BOGOs, use coupon code 85721 at Overstock.com for 10% off your order (this also works on video games & game systems). Shipping is 2.95 no matter how much shit you order.
Spiderman Trilogy on Blu-ray came out to be 57.72… not exactly amazing savings, but this is a good deal for those of you who might order a bunch of Blu-rays at once with the code.
I stopped buying DVDs back in March because of this god awful format war. Tomorrow however though, I guess I will be finally choosing a side and snagging the snazzy Blade Runner: Final Cut Blu-Ray. I bought a PS3 for MGS4, might as well get some use out of its BR capabilities while I wait.
