The Blu-ray Thread v1.0

still makes no sense for format wars. I have no idea why people took this so seriously.

Don’t know about dubs happening (probably will in the future though), but I wish more Blu-rays would take advantage of the space & put lots of subtitles in. Movie nights usually turn out pretty crappy for my family cause we usually pause every few seconds to translate for my mom… unless we’re watching like, say, an action movie… since it’s much easier to follow without knowing words beyond advanced English. Once I saw all these Blu-rays with Korean subtitles I got all happy, but it seems like they’re doing it less for more recent releases.

Oh, by the way, Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty (I forgot which) got officially slated for a September release… so I guess we’ll see then.

Iv’e been told that Planet Earth is a must own for Bluray owners…I’m considering picking that up soon.

Its sleeping beauty

Yeah, if I had to choose 5 Blu-rays, I’d go with…

Planet Earth, Ratatouille, Stranger than Fiction, Paprika & The Departed

With this, you’d get a little of every genre & also very nice quality Blu-rays… I get the feeling this list will change soon though once I get Blade Runner & Pan’s Labyrinth in the mail.

It’s official: HD DVD is dead!

NOICE!

lol, so how does it work with Blockbuster when you receive a movie that’s completely fucked up? Am I going to be charged for either Blockbuster or my post office’s incompetence? I received a Blu-ray that’s completely cracked in half -_-.

You can just check off a box on their site that says it’s fucked up. I had to do that when they sent me Superbad twice instead of the next thing in my queue.

WE PARTY!

It’s 11.99 here… but you need to buy atleast 2 Blu-rays to get the sale price. Also… they charge tax & shipping I think… so… not sure how the price would turn out in the end…

Universal is officially BLU.

I can finally have my Focus Pictures movies on Blu-ray.

:u: Now where’s Paramount?

My guess?

Kicking themselves.

Ok now that HD-DVD went the way of the Dodo, can we expect a price drop in Blu-ray drives and recordable media?

I guess this is very good news in the long run.

They’re going to support HD-DVD for 2 more years because they don’t want to admit Michael Bay is smarter than them

Fuck. Blockbuster is so horrible. I got 2 wrong disks & yet another cracked one.

paramount gone blu now too

guess thats everyone

Weinstein is still holding out!
