Just bought a PS3 for the Blu-Ray DVD Player, but totally didn’t remember about the new region thing. I’m a total lost for this new Blu-Ray stuff, so if I were to get an Asian movie in Blu-Ray:
Yeah, got it too… Got Blade Runner, Pan’s Labyrinth & Volver. I considered getting Rush Hour 3, but didn’t think I’d watch it more than once or twice. New Blu-rays in sales ftw.
Hmmmm… are you allowed to do in-store returns to a store that doesn’t carry Blu-rays?
That I don’t know, since all the ones around here (okay, both of them) do stock it. I think you can, though.
How it works is that, after you’re done with your movie, you can take it to the store to trade for another movie (in your case, probably a regular DVD) right then and there. The store will then catalog your return and then mail it back to wherever it needs to go (so you don’t have to worry about it being lost in transit and stuff), and then Blockbuster Online will send out the next movie in your queue. In theory, if you have the plan that allows for 3 rentals at once, you can have up to 6 movies rented simultaneously for the same flat rate you pay for the service.
For any other people who have wanted to try Blockbuster Online, sign up with the promo code bbstore and it’ll give you a trial with 3 at a time, instead of the normal trial which I believe is just 1.
No, but you can use the free monthly coupon rental they give you for a game. Also, you don’t get a free rental for every return. You only get one until you reach the maximum for your rental plan. For 3 at a time I think it’s 6, unless they’ve changed it.
God damn avsforum is so fucking annoying. Flooded with HD DVD nuthuggers constantly whining about Blu Ray, how much they hate Sony, BDA, Samsung, Playstation 3, Warner, Best Buy, Netflix, Michael Bay, and just about anything that has to do with Blu-Ray.
Even the Patriot fans have stopped bitching about how New England should have won and why the Giants’ victory is such a tragedy upon mankind. You’d think the HD DVD crowd would get over it by now.
Just started a Netflix trial… I’m liking this instant movies thing, especially because the quality is much better than what I would have expected & the Blu-ray selection is much bigger and seems to be in stock more than Blockbuster’s. I’m probably going to end up going with Netflix if the delivery speed is great, atleast until I have a Blockbuster near me that’d stock some damn Blu-rays.
I signed up with Netflix about a month ago and I love it. What plan do you have? I currently have the 3 DVD’s at a time, but I’m thinking of upgrading to 5. They have a huge selection of anime and Blu-ray’s. So far its the shit.
Hmm. Usually it takes 2 days for me to get my movies. Today I sent in 2 of the DVDs I got, so I’ll get my next two on Saturday. The only thing that sucks is they don’t ship out on the weekends.
LOL. Yeah, just their AVs alone make me laugh. I do go there though for discussion about HD Programming, I just avoid the Blu-ray / HD-DVD / Video Games sections.
all those sites suck because you can’t just talk about the friggin movies
every thread turns into a hd dvd vs blu ray debate instead of a thread about the movies
the import forums aren’t too bad, but you can’t just talk about the movie
i’ll never understand why people care so much about their format, i mean i estimate i spent about 3-4k on hd dvd equipment and movies and another 4k on blu ray and if either dies i could care less
the movies will still work and thats all that really matters to me
my D-VHS tapes and laserdiscs still work too and when my d-vhs tape player broke 2 years ago i had no trouble finding a new one
avs is really nice site, as long as you don’t go there for hd dvd/blur ay stuff
