True we don’t know the actual frame data, but Valle was getting counter hit a lot after his SK. That doesn’t look good, gotta balance Bison someway way though.
Still good as combo ender as you can keep a combo going in the corner. I’ll take the trade off Bison looks to play different and I’m happy about that. More like ST less like SF4 scissor kicks notwithstanding.
Can you imagine SFxT Bison with his ST scissor pressure? Godlike
The game will implode on itself for such awesomeness. Bison will be furthered hated and reestablish himself as the BOSS. I am still upset we didn’t get a Shin Bison boss for 4. I don’t like that Akuma guy one bit.
Oh hey, Bison’s s.MK chains into s.HK pretty good. Basically 40% screen poke into launch potential. So it’s not even just about keeping people out but using the limb to get in by pianoing s.MK~HK.
The way some of his moves hit and connect seem a bit bigger than SF4 versions. Counter hit anti airs do juggle and it’s a free Psycho Crusher followup. Also, is it just me or does Psycho Crusher look way faster?
c.LK xx c.MK xx s.HK seems like a pretty good chain. I don’t think most people will punish Bison even on block when he’s pushing so far away. Maybe just Vega, all I can think off bat.
Vega can’t punish it Jago tested it earlier today. His pokes don’t reach.
Now for a more serious question… Any fellow Bison players getting the urge to not play Bison in this? He looks good but I kinda want to start fresh in the engine and not go in trying to play SF4 style. That would mean no Cammy either. I’m seriously considering running all new characters in this when it drops. Gives me something to ruminate on as I wait for the release date.
Bison will be a staple and I will try new characters that compliment him. For some reason the Bison and Guile sounds like an interesting team. The unstoppable force and the immovable object in one nice package. I shall see. My plans for teams have been crushed since i won’t be touching guy for 6 months(fail capcom …fail)
Seeing as Bison is the only SF character I know how to use well, (got SSFIV two months ago,) I’m going to keep using him in SFxT, at least at first. He’ll be someone I can pick up right at the bat and (hopefully,) be decent with, but as time goes on and I play through the rest of the cast, (and as the remaining 12 characters become available, either by DLC or Unlockables,) I may well find other characters that I can use in Bison’s place. But that likely won’t be for a while.
I’ve mained Bison since ST so I’m sticking with him in this too for sure. My teammate is where I’m putting the most thought now. Thinking Juri on day one but that may change.
It seems that Bison’s jumping fierce has improved a great deal. In all of the Bison footage I’ve gotten glimpses of over the past few days, I see that air to air fierce winning out over a lot of characters that would have just gotten an easy counter-hit going air-to-air in the SF4 series.
Also, another thing to note is that far standing fierce can be cancelled into Knee Prezzzz Night-uh-mah-ruh. Pretty cool since as a poke, it was slow as hell in SF4 but had a hitbox like Dudley’s forward+heavy (not sure what the move is but you guys know what I mean), i.e. lots of horizontal reach with hurtboxes behind, pretty much like all of Bison’s on the ground pokes but essentially useless due to its molasses like speed and inability to cancel into anything.
Now that far standing fierce can be cancelled, who knows, perhaps it can be cancelled into a special as well. It would seem odd to let a normal cancel into a Super while not being able to cancel into a special move like Psycho Crusher, but who knows, there are instances of that in SF4, like Bison being able to cancel crouching fierce into knee press nightmare (I think?) You can also see him do a ground chain, crouching jab, strong, fierce but ends without a cancel. I’d like to hope that it can be cancelled but the player messed up the timing or just didn’t even bother to try. At the least, maybe we can expect it to cancel into supers exclusively.
Almost all his normals are cancelable into stuff. And the fun thing about the SFxT system is that like most if not all of them can AA juggle and you follow up with a psycho crusher or something. A lot of characters are just way better versions of themselves from SF4 in here because of all the additional properties slapped onto their moveset too. Sooooo hyped!
I really, really want to learn Bison, hence why I made this thread. My Day 1 team is probably going to be Heihachi/Sagat just for familarities’ sake in early tournaments but I’m hoping I can one day turn it into Heihachi/Bison.
So, how many ways does he have to get into juggle apart from Devil Reverse? I could have sworn I saw Scissors Kick juggle in the corner.
Scissors does juggle in the corner. Valle used it to combo into super for a shit ton of damage. You can see it on the Twitch stream recording: http://www.twitch.tv/teamsp00ky/b/309421066
I suspect properly spaced PC/Ex PC will juggle as well but that remains to be seen. Getting so hyped for this now. I have to wait an extra 3 days too!! My mate owns an indie games shop though so there’s a chance he’ll get it a couple of days early.
can’t juggle after LK scissors (at least i wasn’t able to. Might be a tight corner-only link, but I wouldn’t bet on that). Mk scissors doesn’t combo from lights, HK scissors comboes only from HP.
Lk scissors are also the most damaging ones, Mk and HK scissors do less damage to compensate for their juggle ability.
