That’s my charging woe. Just commit and hit forward with the kicks. If you do it super fast it messes with the super/ex charging and you dash cancel. I think the input leniency is to blame here.
Yeah, the inputs are a bit stricter than SF4, which is both a good and bad thing. Bad because you can’t exploit the leniency as much, but good because it forces you to actually clean up your inputs.
If you try to pre-charge too quickly when performing scissors, Bison will just backdash.
It doesn’t happen on PC though so it must be because of a bit of leniency on the button press when charge cancelling (I think).
I think I just need to get out of the SF4 state of mind and retrain my internal metronome. I’m also having trouble consistantly canceling normals into specials. But kudos to me for landing cr. lk x 4 > lk. scissors and jumping mk, cr. lp, st. lp, st. lk into scissors online last night lol.
My internet decided to crap out on Tuesday so I can’t play online till they fix it on Saturday!!
Blessing in disguise I reckon though since I’ll just be polishing stuff in training till then.
i’m going to have to try this. this sounds a lot easier to do. Also as everyone else is saying I can easily do bison’s 3 cr.lk’s into sk on AE now (finally!) but I’m back to sucking again with the timing in this game. ugh.
lmao. They are both easy but when I go from this game back to AE I have to hit training for a bit
Don’t worry it will make you a better player overall.
Juggling many fighting games at once that is.
Yeah, this is my second real fighter. I wanted this game to help me improve execution, blocking and footsies. When I went back and played SSF4 Bison I was feeling it already!
I thought you played Melee? I actually think that game is pretty legit as a fighter, despite all the crap you hear about it on SRK
I did. But there wasn’t many fundamentals that was useful when I swapped to SF tbh.
I know that I want a straight-up footsie character on my team, but I’m so torn between Dic/Claw/Gief!
Help me make life decisions.
Also, what up m16, laud, supanova, flashy, and the rest of the Vanilla fam.
Found A Glitch with bison. This was done on the 360 version. My opponent was rolento and we tested it a couple of times in the match after. If bison does his Super Art from full screen and the opponent stand blocks(not in corner) he will get hit. Crouch Block work fine. WTF this game is so glitchy
My Day #1 Bison tech:
Off a forward throw into the corner, you can do immediate DR, and then immediate (as in, as soon as it is available) HP follow-up. While you’re airborne, you can watch to see if they forward roll or not – whether they do or they don’t, track them down and hit them with meaty DR follow-up. You get frame advantage and some potential offence.
Something to build off of, anyways.
Super art? or EX scissors? That is a weird glitch if it’s his super.
Dude, long time no see!
I honestly don’t know understand yet how Bison is supposed to open people up. I mean, he had that problem in SF4, but throws have been nerfed since then.
Claw can at least link cr.mp xx whatever from overhead, and I can’t really pinpoint what Bison is good at yet.
But, I’m still willing to give him a shot. There are two character slots, anyway.
Its his super. I did some more testing on it. Even with the auto block gem the super will hit them. To try this yourself have both characters move in opposite directions away from each other until the screen stops at full screen. The opponent cant be in the corner. have the opponent just hold back and then have bison do his super. The opponent never goes into a block animation like he would if a fireball was thrown. the super isnt hitting low because the auto block gem would go off its just some weird glitch.
Straight up the best thing about Bison in this game is his taunt in english.
Fuck english.
NDR …yo yo. long time no talks. glad to see folks from way back here.
I’ve been opening people up with pokes, ambiguous crossups and meaties. just basic stuff but thats becuase its week 1.
roll is annoying, but tech will be discovered.
probably a lot more to dash cancelling possibilities, i mean his first gameplay reveal has him doing that slick combo. I’ve been building crazy meter with him and it’s easy to hit confirm into a super you will get back in no time anyhow.
Not sure if there’s any real use to this or not, but you can use PC to fuck with people’s rolls once you knock them down.
For example, if you do short short short scissors, you can do an immediate LP/MP PC – the latter will cross the corpse while the former won’t. The direction your opponent rolls in will depend on whether or not you crossed him up with the PC. And the thing is, it’s really hard to tell if you used LP or MP crossup, so your opponent is going to be kind of lost as to where his “forward” roll is going to take him (if anywhere at all).
This will probably get blown up by quick stand, but I’m putting it out there regardless.
