Uuh so if lag DOES make the game unplayable, I get harshly punished for agreeing to a draw instead of rolling a dice to determine the winner? That’s retarded.
People with same amount of wins but more games total listed in front is sensible (and what’s usually done)*, but anything beyond that would be dumb. With your suggestion someone going 0-7 would place better than someone going 2-0 <_>
*As in, you just type down Wins-Losses, and then it looks like this:
Don’t you think “Wins count 1 point, losses 0; on same amount of wins, the guy with more losses places higher” is less complicated/messy than “Wins count as 4 pts, losses as 0.5” or smth along those lines?
A draw is a “not played game”, so it doesn’t appear in the statistics at all. I’d only count wins and losses.
Regarding placement of multiple persons with the same score, there are multiple tiebreaker variants (Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, direct comparison) … I don’t know how this tournament is run (round robin? swiss sys?) since I ain’t participating and didn’t read one bit, but if you need help there I can do so.
By the end of the week I want as many people to play as many as possible.
Which is why I don’t like not counting draws.
You shouldn’t be punished (you are going to be, just not as harsh) for getting a bad connection for someone.
If you get a bad connection, your play that round is automatically forfeit, which gives people who had better connections and advantage simply because they connected better.
2 wins, 2 losses, 2 draws = tied for whatever shitty placing no one cares about. It aint rocket science, ties happen in double elim as well.
A tie just means that in this one tournament the tieers all “placed” the same and therefor performed the same in the tournament.
If shit gets real and the15th place players really care what their order is then just let them hold their own tiebreaker…
But iwouldnt expect anyone to really care about ties in anything that isnt a paid placing spot, amd since this tournie doesnt have prizes iirc, it matters even less.
If there is a tie between two players I think the best way is to look at the result of their match to decide. If they didn´t play against each other or if it is a draw it can be looking who has more wins or wins per match.
having to keep track of have many matches each person has won would be crazy. its much easier to just do straight win/loss. i did FT5 with the two people i played yesterday but cant remember how many games we took each now, just who won and who lost.
this is all progress though, any discussion will help us reach the end ruleset that much quicker.
also i might add that anybody who is playing on XBL to add the gamertag
aBOBSKULLGIRLSa
this is specifically to help people find matches more easily. ive already added a bunch of people who are playing to the list, and awaiting more people to accept the request. if i havent added you then just send a request of your own. i know some peoples friends lists were full.
edit : fucking hell DL pisses me off. not one person enters from their side of things yet they are plenty happy to complain that the patch needs to come soon to re-ignite interest in the game again.
My friend request for the BOB metatag is pending, Zidane you can find me through the SRK metatag though.
I’ll be around for about another hour, gone for two, then back for another four. So if I’m not already idling in unranked waiting for someone, I’m probably playing Dark Souls. So just send me an invite and I’ll be right there.
Also, since it’s Round Robin. Can’t I just play anyone on the list and post results? If so, this goes out to anyone who is playing against me. Even if we shouldn’t be playing, just invite me anyway. I just want to actually play this game with someone.

edit - This first bracket is just for teams, right?
also, yes that is what i have been doing. i wouldnt worry about the order you play people, just as long as you try and play everyone who is on the list.
Me and RepleteSplash82 just played a BO5, I won 3-0.
Not sure if you guys want us to do a FT5 though. Replete just offered a BO5. If that’s the case then we can just replay some other time and that match won’t count.
The irc isn’t just for the tournament but the #Skullgirls channel has existed for quite a while now. Although I’m pretty sure I’m the only person to say anything in it in the past two or three months.
